Cornell Footbag and Juggling Jam, November 10-12

Post by C-Fan »

More details forthcoming, but Cornell is gonna host a 10th anniversary juggling festival that weekend, with the main date on November 11th. It sounds like a perfect excuse for a footbag jam/competition, so keep your calendars open! I am investigating using club funds to bring in some big name players to perform.

More details later.

I'm there... I think this is probably far enough from Washington to not fuck with attendance at SJFF. Can't wait! Ithaca is a fun city!

OK, quickie update:

*We got a killer space. Its a lot like the green floor from CSS4. Its indoors, and it grips well and is nice on the knees.

*I am working on getting medals for the event, but what events do you guys want? Circle comp? Rippin' Run? Shred 30? Let me know.

*The juggling show will be insane. 2 of the best jugglers in the world, Thomas Dietz and Wes Peden will be there, as well as lots of other professional acts.

*I am working on getting crash space set up.

Hell yeah, Ken!! I say CIRCLE COMPETITION, first and foremost. I probably won't compete in anything else, unless you have a Weird 1.

If you would like me to stitch a prize bag for the tournament, I would be glad to donate it. PM me if you're interested.

I'll compete in any comps, but I like shred 30 and rippin' run the most.

And is the 2nd juggler's name possibly Wes Peden instead of Peders?

It is indeed Wes Peden. Dude has skills.

Matt, I would love it if you could stitch a prize bag. I need to contact a bunch of sponsors, but if you (potential sponsor) are reading this and think you can help us out, let me know!

yah Wes is nuts, his dad is the one of main organizer for the RIT Juggle-in. I get to see Wes perform quite often, the kid (not even out of his teens...) is awesome.

let me know if you need any help with anything, i'm a lil ways away but i don't mind pitching in to help throw a sweet event.

Ken, go to the red bull homepage and look up sponsorship, I'm sure they'll at least provide lots of product. Remember how much they gave me for the New Year's Jam?

1 Prize Bag coming up :)

People who are planning on attending, or strongly considering attending, please post in this thread. I just want to get a general feel of how many/who is planning on coming so I can negotiate logistics better.

It looks like we will have a good amount of floor crashspace at a frat house.

I may have a bit of crash space available, just have to check with my roommate.

Also, I think we should do circle comp, but also weird 1. I saw some pretty weird tricks at kickass, and I think it would be fun to put those on display, especially for the non-footbag crowd that will also be there.

I'd like to be there, depending on financial situations, but if there is muchos crash space then I could make it a sure thing. :D

I am probably 90% sure that I am coming. The rest of RFA is also probably going to be there (Mike, Chris, and Paul), and floor space is always appreciated.

Some of the KFM will be in attendance most likely.

Our local juggling club will be driving down and they have offered us a ride so maybe look forward to seeing some of us. (me, peng, derrick, jake most likely)

I am stoked that there is a chance I can come!

If I am really keen and make alot of bags I will donate one, I can't make any promisses though.

Maybe see you all in a month! :)

Very good chance that I will come. I will likely bring at least one other, a new kicker in my area and a Cornell alum, if not two or three more from the Ministry. Very little chance that I'd enter competition, regardless of the format.
