Thanks for the post Jeremy. Good to know people are not afraid to post something. Yeah I knew that was you in the pics. I am still a lot about net but know ones plays out here. I should call & bug Amy again so she can dust off her shoes & kick my ass. We had one day of one pass but she would rather play doubles but there is no one else out here. Sean Flynn? Rob Adams? where you guys at? Nate does not play anymore. To bad because we had some good sessions in 01 when they were all here. We will have to make a trip up the Cali coast so we can kick with everyone. Then you can skool me on my Net(e)sentials. Looking forward to kick with you again sometime! Those Cali tournaments were great. I only went to 2 or 3 So Cal tournaments & 2 western regionals. Those were the days. I miss NET! :x I do have freestyle tho & the Unity club is getting much better!! :D I love this sport!

Had a good tired session at my house for about 2 hrs 20 mins with Conrad & Nate. I got Conrad email last night & said we could kick at 2:30pm at my house. I got home from work early & went right to bed. I woke up abt 11am & called Nate & Conrad. Nate was all for it. Conrad was abt to call it off but I had to twist his arm a bit & he said ok. Then when I tried to go back to sleep for a few hours my allergies were driving me nuts & I was too excited because we were going to shred! Happens to often. This session we ended up drillin again. I guess we really need it.

Nate was working his flip rip, sidewalk, DSO, DATW, & paradons. He got sidewalk a few times & ripwalks like he usually does. They are low but I think they are slowly getting more controlled. He had a tight spinning x-bod rake.

Conrad was pretty tired. He skooled a few different drills. toe drifter>dlo rpt. He got it twice w/o a seal. He didn't do his stepping much. He did hit a couple of new tricks. flip DSO & pdx egg. Fairy nice!!

As for me I was pretty tired to so I drilled some flip stuff & some combos that needed to be hit. No new tricks just new combos.

-smear>atom smasher (one side)
-smear>pixie lo rpt almost had it starting from flip side. Flip needs more work.
-smear x2 almost bsed this
-good paradons on bs well except for the clip part.
-DSO on good & some weak attempts on flip. I need to tighten up my dexs on flip for my DSO & paradon. They are prodigious.
-butter>pdx mirage>toe blur again follow by a run of 10 or so. Had it roll off on flip.
-pdx mirage>atom smasher roll off toe on oneside.

Flip clip/butter was being a pain. Finally warmed up towards the end. Overall pretty good for 3 hrs sleep. Now if I can get through the night (12hrs of work) & then 2 1/2 hrs of kung fu I will be surprised. later....

Friday 9/22 shred
Conrad, Craig (conrad's friend from MN), & myself had a 5 hr session. We started out under this shaded area at this elementry school next to Folley Memorial park in Chandler. The kids get out of school & started to wait under the shaded area next to us. Then a school teacher came up to us & asked nicely for us to leave. The kids have to wait in this area for the bus. Ok no problem. My game was feeling ok till we moved to the basketball courts at the park. Then I felt sluggish & had a headache. I thought maybe I was a bit dehydrated so I sat down for a bit & then drank some more water. I kicked for a bit then had some Ibuproen. I think that saved my day. I started to feel better & had a pretty good session over all.

Craig was a bit rusty since he only plays hacky once every few months. I am sure he is paying for the 5 hrs of kickin & trying to toe stall & ATW's. He got 2 almost 3 toes stalls in a row on the same foot & by switching toes.

Conrad definitely looked better then went we played on Monday. I guess it helps us both when we get more sleep. He didn't hit anything new. He was getting close to his toe drifter>DLO rpt drill. He tried a few new tricks but no luck. Had some good drills. Check his blog. I can't remember much more.

As for me I didn't hit anyting new either. Once I felt better I hit smear>atom smasher again. I tried Atom smasher>smear but no luck. My atom smashers are still not that consistant & I can't hit smear out it on the weakside, YET! Also hit a few toe blurs. Also hit toe blur out of pdx mirage again. Still can't get the other side tho. Worked on terrages but still can't link them. I hit 3 smears in a row one side. Can't even get 2 on flip, YET! Conrad said that he practiced consecutive smears & magellens to get his pixies good. Since pixie lo goes in front your body instead of up like smears & magellens I will have to throw more practice in! I hit one magellen on each side.

High pts:
-22 infinities. After that could not get above 10. :x
-tiltless runs: 22, 36 ( :D probably my highest!), 26, 18, 15, had several above 13 after that.
Yes that was the only things. But on the bright side the tiltless runs were nice. Things are slowly coming along. I have to wait a couple of more weeks to let the ankle heal up more before I can start working on more stepping stuff. Next Friday we will have another session so hopefully I can hit a couple of new things.

50 min shred before work. It was an ok session. It took a while to wake up & get the cobwebs out. Then once I do get warmed up it is time to go to work. :x Such is life. Once I did the warm up & stretched I worked the usual clips/butter. I hit several 12 or so clips & infinities but could get that high today. I did have 14 contacts of butterfly>pdx mirage>op butterfly rpt. Not bad since I was feeling tired today. I worked on tapping mirages, atom smashers, magellens, smears, & toe blurs for a bit too. I still plant the foot pretty far away from where it starts for the pixie so when I do the LO I don't always get it. Doh! The only major high light was

24 contacts of Osis (new record). Sweet! 8)

I am working an extra night tomorrow so I will just have enough time for an hour session before work!

Friday's session:
We kicked for about 5 hours. It was Nate, Conrad, Josh, & I tearing it up. We kicked next to the park at this corporate building. It was all good till we got kicked out of the spot 3 hours later. Then we kicked at the playground area that had ok lights. I guess it was better then the sidewalks at the park. Anyway...

Conrad was doing good with all his stepping & pixies. I think he had one or 2 new moves. I remember he had blurriest & blurry whirl.

Nate wasn't feeling up to par so he was taking it easy but still managed to bust some of his regular stuff. Ripwalks, spins, paradon rake, etc. He tried ripwalk with a pause but it rolled off. Josh decided to try it & hit ripwalk>pause rpt serval times. Nice. Cool frigid stuff! haha.

Josh hit a few things. Sick stepping as usual. Stepping butter rake & blurry butter rake I think. A few others which I can't remember.

As for me I was doing ok for 4 hours sleep. I didn't put to many long runs together but I did have 2 new tricks

- quantum ss butterflys bs

Almost had slapping mirage bs too. The quantum set was clicking & so was the atomic set. I kept trying atom smasher to atom smasher but no luck. I will have that soon tho! My clip was feeling a bit better. At least now I can slow myself down a bit so it works a little better. That shows progress!!

Had a 40 min session before work. My legs were still a bit sore & stiff from Friday's 5 hr session. This session I just felt like working clips, butterflys, & quantum sets. I had some good control with clip>op clip. I only got 12 to 15 several times. Then butterflys I only got about 10 or less. I really don't start getting the weakside going till I am really warmed up which is usually after an hour or hr 1/2 into the session. Obviously that means that I don't have my flip down really good. :x  As for the quantums I only hit slapdown (quantum ss butter) on one side & no toe blurs. I was just mainly working set>quantum dex>same toe stall>op toe stall rpt. Good drill to get more practice in a short time. I do this with pixies too. I also had 15 contacts of osis. That is it!

It is good to read everyones blog about the tournaments but at the same time it sucks to miss them! anyway....

Friday Oct 6th Unity session -

We had another 5 hour session this time at Daley Park just south of ASU on a nice basketball court. All things considered it was a pretty good session. We had the usual 4 man circle. This is a good size circle to kick in. I can stay warmed up & not get to cooled down.

Nate was working many things. Ripwalks, spinning rakes, etc. He hit locomotion a few times. Nice! He goes guiltless probably 95% of the time.

Conrad was hitting his usual runs. Then he decided to work on barrages. Bam he hits one 8O & then many different variations of it. Nice stuff! Check out his blog for the exact tricks.

Josh was doing good. He hit many new tricks even though his knee was hurting him. Damn that sucks! My right knee hurts now & then too. injuries suck!! ..... Check out his blog too! These guys are getting good!

As for me I was doing pretty good. I started out pretty slow so I can pace myself & then stretch real good. I worked the usual stuff & also threw in some stepping stuff since my ankle was feeling good. I hit some stepping clips (bs - 2x on flip), sidewalk on strong only, stepping ss butterfly rake on strong only. Toe blurs were feeling great & so were atom smashers. I got so close to toe blur 2x & atom smashers 2x & also terrage 2x. My groin on my right leg was hurting a bit so I only tried terrage>terrage a couple of times. Maybe I started the toe blurs to soon before I stretched. doh!

Then.... we were messing around with spinning & someone mentioned inspinning so I had the bright idea to try it & on the second one I tweeked my right ankle a bit. yes, the same one I have sprained the last 3 or 4x. I was sooooo pissed!!  I could still do a clip but it was a bit painful & I didn't want to aggravated it more so I just worked flip clip, flip butter, cross body rakes, toe blurs, atom smashers, left osis, mirages, smears, flip dimwalk. I just tried to take it easy & not crank the ankle since I didn't want to make it worse. it really sucks! I did hit 2 new tricks

New:
quantum LO (bs)

I am staying on par (2 tricks a week). My ankle today is a bit sore. I iced it 4x last night. I will ice it again in the morning after work & continue all week to see if I can play a bit on Wednesday. Then I can tell where I am at for Friday. Friday sess might just be flip stuff again. It was weird trying to get a long string without doing strong clip moves. It was a good way to think outside of the normal shred box that I am usually in.

We had a fun puns during the session. I guess we get a bit silly/stupid sometimes to add some flavor the the sess. Nate mentioned having long runs. So I said we need to add more fiber to our diet.  Then Nate said we should name our club the regulars. ok we where getting bad or is it sad. We had a few other but I forgot.

I will take care of the ankle & see what happens. Until next time.......

Great pic Nate!

9/11

Had a 3 hr shred. Lucas kicked for abt 1 hr. It was good to kick w/ him because it has been over 3 months. He says he practices now & then by himself. Once his schedule changes he can start kickin on Fridays w/ the Unity crew. He was doing great. He hit pdx mirage off his toe on bs for the first time. He also had a few small runs w/ mirages, clips, & ATW w/ some toes stalls in between some of them.

As for me I was just kickin lightly trying to see how my ankle felt. I just drilled some clips, osis, pdx mirage, butterflys (not to many on the good side since that is the sprained ankle, x-body rakes, ATW, LO's, etc. Not much to say.

9/13 Friday......

Had a killer session w/ the Unity Crew, Nate, Conrad, Josh, & myself. They started at 3pm. I finally showed up at 4pm because of traffic & I slept to long (worked last night). Anyway.... Read Conrad's & Josh's blogs to find out the first hour highlights.

Nate was doing pretty good even tho his stomach bothered him. Damn Green chile. Doh! He was livin up to the new name "the AZ regulars." haha  He did hit some good combs. Blur>atom smasher, rip>blur bs, etc.

Josh was doing great. I guess he hit some new moves in the first hour & close to tripwalk a few times towards the end of the session. 14 ripwalks in a row!!! Damn! Fairy nice!! Check out his vid on his blog. He also had 6 or so crispy torques.

Conrad was doing his crazy pixie stuff as usual & then decides to try quantums sets & hits 7 new tricks. Damn! Slap, slapdown, tripwalks, toe blur, quantum LO, etc. Check his blog. What an animol! Geesh! 8O

As for me I didn't hit any new tricks. I was taking it easy since my ankle was still sore & I didn't want to over do it. I worked a lot of flip stuff & toe stuff.

highlights:
-terrage>terrage -- starting from bs! :D that is one of my own challeges for the year
-osis 24! ties my record. Damn good since I lost some flexablity from the sprain.
-clip>infinity rpt 48 contacts!! That beats my last record of 40. I guess you can say this is my tiltless drill record. 36 tiltless is still my genuine tiltless record. Good fiber runs!

I had few 12 to 15 tiltless runs using mostly flip clip & toes! I can't remember any puns for the day. There we a few good ones & definitely some bad ones as usual.

Lucas & I will start playing pool for a few hours on Wednesday's starting at abt 3 & then kick! I will try & get him in shape to kick for a solid 2 hrs & show him some new tricks to work on! Should be some good kickin every week w/ 2 solid days of the Unity Crew & at least one or 2 solo days! Yeah! Gotta love Footbag!

Time to go ice the ankle & stretch!

had a 45 min session before work. I just worked CBOP stuff. I also worked some fridge inside stalls, clips, etc. to stretch the ankle. It is still sore. I just don't want to loose my flexiblity like I did last time I sprained my right ankle. I finally got my osis back so I better keep at it.

My right knee is still feeling tight. I still go to fast on the flipside so it aggravates the knee. I need to slow the fuck down. It is so hard to break bad habits. Anyway.... I will try to kick again Tuesday night before work for about 30 mins or so.

My first post! (on this blog) I kicked with mike last night after a session of pool. It's good to play with mike, he has good adivce and it really helps me with my progress. We kicked for about and hour and half and I am sorry to admit that I'm sore as shit. I am kicking alot more so my endurance should improve. I should be able to start joining you guys after a couple more Fridays.

P.S. My G-units come today!

Good to see someone else post.

I kicked about 2 1/2 hrs. Lucas kicked with me for about 1 1/2. Lucas was doing pretty good. he hit his first butterfly. He also hit 3 or 4 clips in a row on strong side & 2 or 3 on flip. I gave him a few challenges.

-clip 5 in a row
-clip>clip>pdx mirage>LO rpt
-mirage>ATW>LO rpt

This should keep him busy for a while. I gave him some helpful hints that seemed to help out a lot.

As for me I worked mainly CBOP stuff as usual so I can take it easy. My ankle is starting to feel better. I will try to not over do it. i played around with torques & torques starting from toe, dynos, & toe drifters. I only hit 3 or 4 toe drifters on good side. The other side was not working. I think starting torques & drifters from toe will really help my form & get rid of my crispy torques & drifters. I also played with smears, toe blurs, & atom smashers. Only hit a few. My tiltless runs were feeling great. I was hitting some 20+strings. Other then that nothing much. Unity will have a kick tomorrow!

Ok a quick write up for Friday's (20th) session. It was a killer day for a shred. We kicked our usual 5 or so hours. It was Nate, Josh, Lucas, Conrad, & some drunk guys stopped by for a bit. Whew! You could smell from the other side of the basketball court. Anyway...

Conrad hit vortex bs. Damn! I wish my drifters where that good! Nice job!!! He hit his drifter>dlo rpt drill again.... geesh. some other stuff too. see blog...

Nate was doing the usual stuff. No green chillies tho. Hit flip blur & ripwalk looks so much better then mine. back to the drawing board... I mean back to the garage for more & more practice!

Josh's stepping was off but he still pulled off a couple of new tricks. The gyno was doing good! He sealed tripwalk. ok see his blog too.

As for me I hit...
-flip pdx rev whirl
-had gdlo roll off the top of my toe 2x.
-20 osis. Did this last wed too. i guess i stepped up my consistency on these! 8) Finally something is coming along
-tiltless runs.... Fiber.... ahh good!

Nothing much else.
Oh the new vids out there are sick. Coldsession (honza), ryan & ales vids from Eli, clavens, etc. Good to see that stuff! I have about 38 cd's full of vid's from the internet now! wow!

A quick post about the evening shred. Lucas & I kicked. He stayed for about 1 1/2. He inside thigh muscle was hurting him so he took it easy. He hit clipper> far lO. Had 6 mirages on good side & almost 3 on flip. His clips are coming along.

I continued to kick for about another hour. I was tired since I have not slept much that last couple of days. Not enough hours in the day. I had a couple of good tiltless runs at the beginning. 26 contacts followed by a 25 contact run. I also hit 30+ contacts of mirage>lo rpt. Good warmup drill. I worked some a-i DATW's & terrages. I was trying to get 2 DATW in a row & DATW to terrage. Came close a few times. I worked some paradons, whirls, toe set to whirl, to drifter, & to torgue. fun stuff but no go except for a couple of drifters on strong side. I could only get 10 or 12 clip>op clip & abt the same w/ infinites. 5 hours of sleep don't get me much. My pixies, quantums, & atomic were not working to well. I think the biggest combo was..... ss butterfly>pdx mirage> terrage bs in a small run!

No kick on Friday since I have a kung fu seminar. I will try to kick Sat or sun depending on how I feel.

I will going to Las Vegas from Nov 14th -16th so I hope to kick w/ Ben Skaggs & the vegas crew. I will let you know.

I finally had a session. I have been busy with so much other stuff. It was good session with Lucas for about an 1 1/2. He was doing pretty good. He hit 5 clips on good side & 3 or 4 on flip. He also hit clip>mirage & a few pdx mirages & a high run of 8 tricks. Nice!

I played for another hour. I worked on a lot of butterflys & clips. I couldn't hit may butterflys. I did hit 36 clip>op clip. I worked on some DATW i-o & a few terrages. My quantums & atomics sucked today! I did have some good smears! Hit 3 on strong & almost 2 on flip. Worked dimwalks too. Nothing else note worthy. Pretty sad!

I read Josh's blog before i started this. it is funny that in AZ 4 of the Unity crew & separate sessions in different parts of Phoenix. Friday we will have another session!! Sweet!

Ken - Cool see you then! Just send me an email so we can setup a few kicks! I guess have a little bit of time to learn something.

11/3
Had a kick with the Unity Crew! There was 5 man circle (Nate, Lucas, Josh, Conrad, & myself) for a few hours then it went down to the regular 3 man circle (Josh, Conrad, & myself) for the remaining 3 +hours.

Nate was doing ok considering his back was hurting him. He did take a few more breaks then usual. Do those situps & reverse situps to help!

Lucas was working his 2 add stuff. Clips, atw, LO, picks, etc. He also tried a few butterflys.

Conrad was pretty tired from him & Josh kickin on Wednesday night for 4 hours. Those animols! He was working the usual stuff. Check his blog.

Josh was doing good & hit a few new tricks. I can never keep track tho since he hits so many new things. Him & Conrad keep challenging each other with different tricks. They also like to talk some shit to each other. Funny stuff.

As for me I was doing ok. I felt a bit off tho since the last week & 1/2 I had a weird sleep schedule. Ok weirder then usual. I didn't hit anything new. I tried to hit atom smasher x2 & toe blur x2 but they felt a bit off. I could hit one atom smasher but the other one just wouldn't come together. As for the toe blur I could barely hit one this day. argh. My flip clip/butterfly is very slowly improving. I think I better come up with a new way. This just drive me nuts. "I think I am just going to retire." Nah... I think I will keep playin till I can't walk since I love this sport so much!!!! Yeah Footbag!! Since I am no where near my goals I set a few months back I think I am going have to stick to a training routine to see if that helps!!

this is where I am at:

I haven't tried some of these in a while so I just updated what I could.
left foot/right foot
Mirage 20/34
Illusions 10/10
clippers - ALT: a pathetic 26 SS: 37/58
SS butterflys 5/13 (what a difference bet the 2)
Infinities less then 21. argh!
osis 24
clip>infinity rpt 48
mirage>LO rpt 10 or so

goals before the EOY:
100 clip>op clip -- long way to go. 26 so far
75 infinities -- even longer... 21 so far
toe blur> toe blur (I hi toe blur on each side but the second one is a bitch)
atom smasher>atom smasher ( came close several times - soon!)
terrage>terrage -- got this one starting from either toe. ok next 3, 4, etc..
4 smears on bs -- 2 almost on flip/4 times once on strong
30 osis' -- 24 almost there...
ripwalk>ripwalk (this is to big for me right now so I will have to extend it till middle 07' so I will try these 2)
stepping clip>infinity rpt -- my flip sucks so this will not happen for a while
stepping butt>infinity rpt -- same as above
4 tapping mirages on bs -- i can get 2 now & then
4 whirls & rev whirls on bs -- 2/3

This is sad :( & it pisses me off too. I only have 3 out of all of those. geesh....I will come up with a routine to work on during my solo sessions.

Until next time...
