Took wednesday off because of my knee/back issues, but mostly my knee. It hurts when I walk for more than 5 minutes or so.. but it doesn't hurt while I'm freestyling. I don't really know what to do about my injuries... If I take a break off from footbag, I'm going to get very little exercise and get depressed... so I'm just going to keep playing for now..

I had a test in my 2nd class out of 3 so I had some extra time before my next class; I was sitting down and saw someone doing toe flicks in the distance so I walked over and asked if I could kick with him. I asked him if he knew about freestyle, showed him my latest 32, and busted out some cool stuff, most notably a run of about 6-7 ducking/diving/weaving contacts (I always try and do that stuff for beginners because everyone thinks it looks cool,) some spins, blur, osis bsos, and basic 2's in my pants and net shoes.

Long story short, he's got lavers, been circle kicking for a while but never had anyone better than him around, and is stoked to come out to a session. I love getting newcomers but so far everybody I recruit has stopped coming to sessions, maybe this guy will be as interested/motivated as I was.

You have hti a lot of epic stuff. Intense.. I can't wait to shred with you again during SJFF, since I didn't do to much during the Open. Damn shin splints. Oh well.

Keep up the shred!

Made a very short vid from a few clips emily took during our session.

Dustin Rhodes and I. 1:20, 36 MB. I'm taking 2 weeks off of footbag... or at least that's the plan. I'm going to see if my injuries get better, and I'll still have 2 weeks to shred it up before SJFF. So, in the meantime, stitching, homework, and a lot of lazyness probably. Footbag and walking to class is pretty much the only exercise I get... maybe I'll swim at the beach. :?

I'm going on day 3 of no footbag... my vision is blurry; life seems bleak and meaningless. hahahha.... AAAUUUHHGHH.

I just got my 2 new sam bags in the mail... they're gorgeous. They're a bit smaller than my current bag style, and a bit more gather I think. I'm going to experiment doing a bag of my current template with a little bit more gather, then maybe do a smaller template as well. And I want to see about getting tin templates...

Stuff I want to hit when I can play:
ducking dlo
spinning clipper>zulu butterfly RPT
ducking clip>ducking clip>ducking bfly>RPT
magellan>fairy ss pickup
Atomic drifter
skullsmasher
25 guiltless consistently..!  within 1 year I want to have a consistent guiltless game, I don't know how realistic that is though.

Man, I wish you all the best, and especially a quick recovery from your injuries.

The transition from tiltless to guiltless seems like a big step, doesn't it? For me, knowing that I can't do a normal far legover seems somewhat scary.... hehe.

Anyway, I was thinking maybe the first good opportunity for us to shred might be next worlds in... Florida?. Can't wait!

Thanks.. I'm not feeling so hot about it.. I'm going to hopefully see a doctor about both issues early next week but I don't know. Seriously, far legover is AWESOME. Penske told me at the santa cruz jam that I should stop doing them because it would push my game.. I see what he means, but it's tough. I can't wait to take it to the next level.. hopefully my body will recover and become stronger than ever.. :D
