help with stiching a 32 panel

i know how to atack everything into the 5 pents with 1 hex(or vice versa i cant remember at the moument) but when thats donw to we just stich them to another set or what?

when you have a pentagon flower and u add the hex....what do you do after that?...do you make more and add on to those panels or what?

here is two pent flowers put together. everytime you start a new pent, you add three or whatever hexes to complete that flower.

then when you have them all attached except the last edge, flip it rightside out. do a blind stitch

check the blind stitch tips if you need them, but heres a picture.

then make a knot, tuck it inside the bleedhole, and there you go.

your finished footbag.

It depends on what you like, some people use floss and other's use upholstery thread. It's just preference. I use upholstery thread because I like it's properties better than floss, but that's me.

you didnt even say what properties.

i use floss (waxed). floss is easy to work with. its easy to buy the right thing. it has a little bit of give so you can fix mistakes. when you make knots you can melt it down a little so its a more durable bag.

its really all about what you want to happen with your footbags. if you want to be able to go back and fix them when you make mistakes i would use waxed floss. because its easier to unknot with your glovers needle than apholstry thread. if you use a needle to try to unknot upholstry thread then most of the time it just gets all stringy and frayed.

but its about your style and what you want... not what you can do to make bags like other people.

floss bags tend to get choice faster than upholstry.

upholstry bags are more poofy. (since the string is thicker, it makes a skeleton inside the bag). most the time, they are prettier than a floss bag.

i use floss. its easier to work with. the floss can be better, or worse depending on what you like.

id just buy both and expierement.

or buy a stitching kit from me and ill send you enough floss or string to make a bag, so you dont buy the wrong type of string.

I actually found floss bags to get much more break-in time than threaded bags. Thread bags are much more restrictive than floss bags, therefore break-in the facile much further than floss.

Floss is much more durable, though, and won't pop a stitch as easily as thread bags concerning the stitching around the pent.

That's about it.
