King of Footbag+Long version
I just had a tough week in the army and when I came home to weekend holiday this video is here waiting. It saved my week.
I can't see how Sam is complaining. If he has better editing programs and could make slow-mo look smoother, then fine. I don't care.
This video rocked. Editing to music was great, as usually from Mads it is. Also filming angles were good and variated. Thank you Mads, please don't let anyone stop you from making videos. And don't take critique so hard on yourself.
And Vasek is good, as usually. I like how he wandered so much (on purpose) by just shuffling in that one run. It's bloody hard!
Mads + Vasek = DYNAMITE!

Sam, did you notice that you're hijacking this awesome video thread?
And I guess people saw the compliments you gave, but that's not what this is about.
Don't worry, you'll get the chance to film Vasek some day.
I didn't say you said so. I just said I don't care if the frames are blended or not. Footbag videos don't have to be movie quality.I didnt say, "your slow mo sucks. You must suck."

What?!
I'm not worried about filming Vasek one day!? You think I was jealous so I had to post some shit? Well, thats wrong! Obviously he wanted to hear people say oh your video is great right? Well, I was saying where it could be improved so are you telling me that I can't do that?
Only say good things on the thread. But please post criticisms in a PM.
Thats BS!
DID I NOTICE THAT IM HIJACKING A VIDEO THREAD?! Wait.. NO I DIDNT because I'm just responding to the untrue accusations made against me!

Well, I have to go to work. But, I don't even want to. A lot of you have really acted unfairly. Your mistake is to assume that a person can not improve. Let me ask a question of you all that dislike me the most.. ready? Do you want me not to change for the better? Do you want me not to learn how to deal with disagreements civilly? I would hope the answer is No, but you are acting like the answer is yes. That is worse that anything I have ever done and I hope that one day you realize it.
Are you going to treat your children this way?
edit: I guess if some Mod wanted to they could cut out all the posts about this drama and put it in discussion under Should criticisms be public or Private? or something like that.

...just when I thought there was a happy ending (the clean kind of course).
First I would like to say that I respect the efforts of anyone who takes the time to produce videos for others' enjoyment/benefit, and I would like to thank Mads for the entertainment on my lunch break.
Secondly, I feel that if someone posts a video, they should come to expect all kinds of feedback, and learn to accept it as part of being an artist. Be humbled by praise, thankful for criticism, and composed against insult. If this was any other forum on the interweb, there would be far more negative than positive comments, and by negative I mean "that was a fu--ing joke; learn to _____, you fu--ing f--k!" I consider constructive criticism- such as Sam's- positive. Personally I don't post criticism because the vast majority of people either can't or don't want to hear it, publically or privately, and if I shared my honest opinion (as a professional, no less) even a few times, I would appear arrogant, regardless of having only positive intentions.
I am familiar with Sam's tendencies, and really saw his initial post as a mature effort to give constructive criticism where he thought it was appropriate.
The far more objectionable thing to me is that some are criticising and/or judging Vasek, based on a limited number of videos no less. If he filmed himself playing with the intention of showing what he is capable of, you would all no doubt be silenced in your assertions. But he is not playing to please any of you, so I would say enjoy what you are getting to see and let him hit what he wants. I personally like the consec Whirrs, and think he is combo-ing them just fine (Whirr>Superfly>Whirr x3>Symp Barraging Far Illusion> etc.). Now take into account that he was *playing for the public*, as in trying to go long and not drop (or so it seems), it is a miraculous display.
While I'm here, I would just like to remind people that if you are feeling the least bit upset by someone's comments, take a break from the computer and get your mind off it. Then come back more ready to discuss the situation calmly and without ego.

p.s. Mads, any chance you can submit the Spinning Whirl x2 string (with natural sound!
) to the Massive Tricks section, as well as the other things you said you'd contribute? Thanks. I would be really grateful for more interest in utilizing ye old flipsider; it's an open door. What was once a prominent footbag site is now all too barren.

This video was so amazing. I've had it playing non stop since I downloaded it yesterday afternoon. I love Vasek footage thank you so much for making this.
You really shouldn't be jumping all over someone for giving constructive criticism though (directed at everyone) Sam has made a lot of posts on his video editing and software and stuff. So it would seem to be a tip from one artist to another, and Sam I know you were being treated unfairly, but when this happens it would be best for you to just not respond anymore. It's not worth it.
Thanks again for this awesome video mads. I really hope you would keep putting out these things. I know that videos like these can give so many people who play alone motivation to get better

Now that I've finally been able to watch the video...
Wow. Such a good video! The music suited so well...
Big ups on everythin everyone else has mentioned trick wise of course... gyro backside nemesis attempt had me
blurry muted rev swirl looks so goood! wow. Looks pretty damn hard too hehe.
And yes. re: 'boring whirr combos'... that was pretty off the charts and repeating tricks is a fairly well known busking strategy I would have thought. Maybe when you can confidently rpt that many whirrs.....
AND that combo ellis mentioned was so tight.
And for the video work.... pretty awesome! The intro was cool... yeah he went off the shot a bit, oh well. Still cool. I really liked when you circled around him. Sick. Personally I didn't think the camera work was boring at all.
Also I'd like to agree with... hmm.... 99% of what Ellis said

I've said it a couple times before. Mads...please make a DVD
You are still pumping out great quality videos with super talent, just slap it on a dvd, and send it to WV please.
All I know is...I feel sorry for vasek's knees...and yet...I want to hit all that shit and tear my legs apart. Thanks for putting your time and effort to letting us all see that. And of course...thank you Vasek for playing.

Maybe Vasek's knees don't hurt him? Or Maybe they won't I guess is what I mean. I know what you meant, Hood, by saying that. But he seems so miraculous, that maybe he won't even be affected by it. Man I have no idea. What an athlete!
About the whole mess, I guess I could have been more gentle with my criticims, I alread apologized but I will apologize again. Maybe next time you'll finally say, ok I see what he's saying, and finally he wasn't a dick.

Its nice to see new stuff from vasek, and its nice that you put it on here, the source of footbag videos.
from the view of a film maker, critics are often hard to take. you spend so much time to make the video, you dont want to hear any bad cuz youre convinced its good or you wouldnt put it out. but people just see the 5 or 10 min video, and not the work behind it. they compare it with what theyve seen before. if it matches their expectations, they will call it good. if not, theyll say its bad or give critics. and everyone has different expectations on the shred, the music or the video-editing, and so is their opinion. the other question is, if it should be posted or not. imo yes, its still a forum and not just a download source. unless the maker doesnt want to hear comments about it (the shred or the editing). but if you want some honest feedback, expect to come positive as well as negative comments. Until Sam´s "hot discussed post" i count 9 compliments, 8 posts only about shred and 2 posts with critics, but also positive words in it. if that isnt a good feedback, i dont know. i wish i would get that kind of feedback.
i think its the professional touch of your vids that make people value it - its not only a shredder filmed doing tricks, its more like a little movie. and, your vids before were pretty good - the yardstick(bar?) of your videos is high, which isnt a bad thing at all.
i cant and dont want to say anything about rivalry between mads and sam, but to me it didnt look like sam was trying to piss mads off.
mads and felix, the video was great. thanks!

Now replacing smooth Criminals to #2...Didn't think that would happen.
This rreeallly makes me want to make the trip out to Prag, (8 hours give or take) and just roam the streets hoping to find Vasek....And then pass out in aww....
Edit
Watching it again, I thought it was really clever how you went from the rake to the long run by vasek, somewhere around 1:30....
Edit again
Next post says the same thing...
