Hey Fletcher, thanks for the props! Your bag is beginning to work in quite well between myself and my brother who is just beginning. It still needs a good washing, which I plan to give it this weekend, but anytway it's becoming a choice bag indeed.

In other news, I had a killer solo session today in Vari Hall at York U. I worked a lot on Spinning/Gyro, Drifters, and flip Atomic.

Highlights:

Spinning Clipper bsos A LOT!!!
Spinning Clip > Ducking Clip > rpt
Gyro Clip x4
Clip set Drifter b2b bs
Toe Drifter > Drifter bs
Flip Tap, Tapdown, Legbeater, and Atomsmasher much better and more natural.
Gyro Legover - HARD!
Gyro mirage first try bs.
Spinning Clipper > Spinning Osis bsos to end the session.

Thanks a lot, Mike. From the footage I've seen, you don't look to be doing too bad yourself. Keep it up and I'll try to post something myself one of these days.

Session in my mom's living room tonight, just got done and I'm sitting down with a beer. Tuborg. Good stuff.

I started this ession off just trying swirls / rev. swirls, and hitting all four with what's starting to settle into a muscle-memory motion... starting.
After swirls, I just kinda did whatever came to mind. As always, here are your (limited) highlights:

Ducking Mirage bs
Ducking Illusion bs (both new)
Drifter > Whirl bs
6 Ripwalks! (new record)
Footed Twirl

I have to work tomorrow in the shit weather. Goodnight.

Couple hour solo session at York U. I didn't feel great, but not too bad either I guess. Some things were clicking, others were not, and my legs got tired after a while, forcing me to stop. I hate HAVING to stop rather than choosing to, cause I like to end with a nice highlight, not exasperation. Oh well. I did do some decent stuff.

Highlights:

Flip Torque
Whirl > Rev Swirl bs
Toe Drifter > DLO bs
Dyno > Torque
Atomic sets bsos

As usual, at least a couple people came up to me and said "Oh wow, do you mind if we take some video of you?" It won't be long I'm sure until i find myself on Youtube. Wouldn't be the worst thing I guess!

Amazing (mostly) solo session at York today. Played for a few hours, with some breaks in between. Worked all kinds of stuff, as evidenced by the highlights.

Whirl > Drifter > rpt
Ripwalk > Spinning Clipper > rpt
Toe Drifter > Far Pickup > rpt
DLO bsos
 Mobius

I'm gonna get drunk watching hockey tonight. Who says life isn't beautiful?

Thanks guys.

There are certainly aspects of both your shred that I aspire to very much. Jake, that fairy drill you posted had me salivating. My flip Fairy needs tons of work.
Adam, your pixie shuffle is always amazingly consistent.
If there's anything I've learned, it's that you can learn something from everyone. Keep pushing it and inspiring others.

As usual, I had a solo session at York U today.

This is becoming trying. A school of 50,000 people, for crying out loud. I play footbag alone. I play near the skaters just for company. Oh well. What can I do but practice more...

Highlights:

G.Y.B.A.S.
Footed Assassin many times
Pixie muted xbd Rake
Blur bsos
Magellan and Stepping Legover bsos same run
PLO x6
Atomsmasher bs first try
Flip DSO, Paradon - The dexes are ok now, but these are still easier than DATW and DOD because my left pitch will not go straight up.

Frig. Maybe I'll play tomorrow.

One of the best sessions I've ever had yesterday. Adam Greenwood came up to York and we played for... about 2.5 hours. We thought we were tired with about half an hour left to play, when Mike from Leave Out Violence at York invited us to play where he was selling tickets to an event in a couple weeks where footbag is one of the features!

Greenwood worked on some challenges (like 3 Fearless!) and funky tripless links. I'm sure he'll post some highlights.

Mine:

Tripwalk
Assassin
Osis > Rev. Swirl bs
ss Symple Swirl
Dimwalk > Blur > rpt
A 20 or so contact run with Magellan & Stepping ss Legover bsos and a footed Motion to end
Spinning Clipper & Merkon bsos same run.
Mid-run Dyno, Drifter & Torque lots

Wow, awesome stuff Josh!
I can't wait to play with you again soon -- actually I'm not sure that we've ever played in the same circle before?? Certainly not for a whole session. You're posting all this new stuff like you are at that point where your game is just about to explode! I'm excited for that!! Those tricks are crazy -- I like the bothsidedness too. Oh, I watched those videos before too -- good stuff! How's flip mobius?

Erik, I know I've answered your question in person, but just for the record: I don't really have a flip Gyro or Spinning anymore, but flip Torque is still a work in progress. I'll have to school it more to get Mobius flipside. I did hit a few flip Torques today though, so it's coming!

Today I had a great session in Vari Hall at York U. Played for about 3 hours, mostly leisurely, but about half an hour or so was INTENSE, popping out some sweet highlights to share!

DLO bsos about 5 times (flip is just about the same level as goodside now!)
A 20+ contact run beginning on Eggbeater and ending on... my first ever FLIP EGGBEATER
Osis > DLO almost bs
Footed Tombstone, Smog, Pigbeater, & flip ss Symp Swirl
Symp Whirl midrun
Whirl > pdx Whirl bs
A run with PLO > Dimwalk & Sidewalk > Ripwalk bsos
Lots of Ducking / Spinning, including flip Weaving Clipper, Spinning ducking Clipper bs, & Diving Clipper > Spinning Clipper > Ducking Clipper bs (thanks for the ideas, Erik!)
Flip Fairy becoming less mysterious.

In the end my hip began to hurt so I stopped, rather satisfied.

2 hour session today.
I'm tired and I have to work tomorrow but I wanted to get this down tonight.
This guy named Josh (cool name) stopped by to kick for a bit. He has bothsided kicks and hit his first toe stall on his first try, so he has the proper movement. I gave him a FAT card, hopefully we'll see him around soon.
Other than that I played solo. I was getting frustrated quite a bit, which isn't really normal for me, but I got through it with some decent results.

Pdx DLO (other one coming next session)
Stepping Legover > Parkwalk > rpt
Spinning Clipper > Gyro Clipper > rpt
Toe Ducking Clipper > Pdx Mirage > rpt (12 contacts)

Sigh. I love Catholic schoolgirl uniforms.

Haven't posted here in a while, but have been far from inactive. What I'm calling to myself YES (Year-End Shred) last Sunday was amazing, with twelve people in attendance. Best kick-off to the intense part of the holidays.

I played alone in my living room tonight, as I did maybe yesterday or the day before, with highlights posted in the FAT blog, for some reason. I think I wanted to show Sam he inspired me to work at it away from FAT meetings. Anyway.

Today's theme was flipside.

Worked:
(ss) DLO
Drifter
Atomic
Torque
bs Ducking / Diving Mirages
bs (Rev) Swirls

Hit:
Twirl
bs Drifter > Spinning Clipper
bs Diving Clipper > Spinning Clipper > Ducking Clipper
bs Ducking Clipper > Rev. Swirl

It was rather exclusively drilling... almost no long runs... the living room is small and hot.

Also, played right after working 10-6 today... fun. It's a good job.

So I played for a couple hours before class, and again for a bit after yesterday. I haven't drilled at all lately, I've just been basically freestyling.

Anyway, I'm damn stoked at my game lately. Highlights from the day's session.

1st ever Ripped Warrior (flip stepping to boot!)
Diving Mirage b2b
Diving Clipper > Spinning Clipper > Ducking Clipper > rpt
Smear > PLO > rpt
Stepping same Clipper > Stepping op Clipper > rpt
Lots of flip Paradon, Torque

From the FAT session on Sunday:

Atomsmasher b2b

Anyway. I locked my keys in my car today. It sucked. Thank goodness for Indian food and Canadian Club Whisky.

...and other indulgent habits.
