n00b tricks

Post by Z on the rocks »

Yeah well i have been playing for around a year now and I just discovered the concept of doing tricks with a footbag. So what I was wondering was are there any tricks for a beginner to start out with.

Also could anyone explain to me what dex means? That may seem dumb but i'm new so yeah.

Thanks alot,

Z

hey man, welcome to the forums!

I'm new to footbag as well, been playing for about a month, and I love it! I think as a beginner, you want to work on kicking mainly, being solid and able to consistently hit the bag straight up and down, with your inner and outer sides of feet.

 After that, work on stalls. Toss the bag up in the air, and just try to stall it on your toe-box, or side of your shoe. When first learning stalls, make sure you bring your foot down WITH the bag, to cushion it a little bit.

 You will get frustrated (I feel this all the time), but don't give up! When you land your first few tricks, it's such an awe inspiring feeling! Practice, Practice, Practice!

 Keep in mind, I'm also a little new to the sport, so I could be wrong... :?:

Have fun and good luck kicking!

once you finish learning kicks and stalls, you should move onto 2 add tricks (normally a trick with one dex and a stall), like mirage: toe > op in [dex] > op toe [del]

Hey and welcome, I always suggest using Anssi's videos. Here is the website and good luck!

Oh, and remember don't get frustrated and drill often.

Oh and a dex means a dexterity with your leg either circling the bag in to out or circling the bag out to in. :)
