Yes to the crash space please... I can't afford a hotel and I love to stay at your amazing house. And to the RCS comment... I don't really think of people as certain "crews" anymore, but if multiple people are comming down from the same city, I'll say the "RCS crew" or the "Freedom Crew". Since I knew you weren't coming in the first place, I just said Justin and Ricky were basta.. I mean I was dissapointed when they couldn't come downsampotter wrote:Yes!!!!! I've accomplished my only goal in footbag that I've had over the last two years... To be disassociated from RCS!
Looking forward to the bag, old bean. By the way, if you need any crash space for SJFF, let me know so I can keep a tab of who's about to be in this piece.

Okay, so my first generation of footbags (actually second because I've made some changes to my stitching style starting with Jim's bag) have issues with bleeding colors. I don't know if it's the filler or the material (it may need to be pre-washed, IDK) but for a little while the test bags will be delayed, or at least until I can figure out the resolution to the problem. If Jim could do a detailed post about what happened to his bag when it got wet it be very awesome, that way I can do some tests to see if I can identify the factor causing the bleeding colors. If you still want the test bags, I can send it, I have a few finished bags that just need the last stitch and filler (look at the list below for the colors and bags that are almost done) and I finished Zac's bag already, but it has the old filler. Anyway, sorry about that guys, I just want to make sure that the bags are pro quality. Send me a PM or post if you have any questions.
--BAGS--
Zeb Jackson: Red, Orange, Green, Navy (last stitch and filler needed)
Zac Jackson: Orange, White (Compleated)
Sam Potter: Silver, Purple, Blue (Last stitch and filler again)
Nate Linscott: Green, White, Sky (half done)
Scott Behmer: Burgandy, Grey (Panels cut out)
Red Huasted: Red, Grey, Orange (I have the panel layout, but nothing official)

Sean still comes out every once in a while, he kicks on his own a bit, but nothing too serious, just for fun. We are in contact every two or three weeks unless I really press him to come out for something. He was one of our photographers for the US Open. He's doing well though, working a corporate position in downtown Portland and living about 20 minutes away from town.

Hey Red and group,
T'was nice to meet you guys down there at the square; I was seriously bummed that I didn't have my gear. Some news has come across my desk about transfering schools to one of the many in portland (rcs, don't be cross, tacoma just sucks balls - much love), and I remember that it was..Sean? that goes to PSU? I can't find his contact information, and I was wondering if he's on modified.
My train comes in at around 11am on saturday october 14th, and leaves at about 6pm on tuesday october 17th. So, if you guys plan on having a session, I'd be way down to shred this time =p
You guys are rad, keep it real.

Busy day for Sole Purpose. After attending another business meeting regarding the sport, Tu Vu (who is in town checking out Portland to live) and I headed down to Pioneer Square for a late afternoon session. Tu was pretty impressed by the number of kickers always present at the square, it was about three or four circles of five or more today. Kenny, Stefan, and Nick showed up to shred as well. Shults continues to get better as usual, and hits 20 contacts consistantly. Stefan played light due to a cold, but still hit a great amount of stylish combinations. I played the usual consistancy, after hitting Blurry Whirling Swirl for Tu Kenny asked me when his royalties check was going to arrive. Pretty sweet. Tu came out of retirement to shred with the gang, and to his surprise hit some pretty good combinations. Earlier in the week we walked around the old sites from Worlds 97, went to the area where the finals for freestyle had been held that year, as well as the spot where he and I (along with Ryan, Chad, Noah Duhbriel(?) and Dave) were BAPed in. We had a toast to the 97 generation.
Back at the session, it again was Nick Landes who broke down even more barriers. Today Nick created a new set by sealing Dragon set Furious Butterfly. I personally think it should be called the Drury set, but that's up to Nicholas. Best part of the story was we all laughed except for Kenny, who had a very disturbed look on his face. He then commented that it it wasn't right what he'd just see.
Nick then proceeded to demonstrate the Levitating set, and hit his second quad dex with Levitating Butterfly. Then he went to duck his Fairy Atomic set. Though not getting all the way through the move, he actually managed to get under the set before he hit the bag with the back of his neck. *Sigh* One day you'll be good Nick Landes.
As the session was winding down, I was approached by an individual who claimed he had been waiting a couple of hours to see us practice. He essentially ran event promotion in the PDX area, and wanted to have us perform our show at one of his upcoming events. We exchanged cards, it's always good to make more connections.
When Tu and I got back to my house there was a knock at my door roughly at midnight, my roommate stuck her head in and mentioned she had watched us play downtown. I ended up signing the back of one of our business for her friend from California (who was also into kicking). It's not uncommon to be approached at Pioneer Square, but it was a bit surreal that it happened randomly at my house by a complete stranger at half past 12.
Anyway, busy day. This week another freestyler is coming into town to check out Portland for college, unfortunately it looks like I will be away, it's back to Idaho for a month or so. I have to high tail it out there tomorrow, we have a school show on Friday. Look forward to SJFF, there's a few new team jerseys to hand out before the end of it. Good times!

I get into portland at around nine tonight. My girlfriend will be at a show, so im basically just going to dick around for alittle. I have little actually planned untill my departure, which is tuesday at 6pm, other than checking out the star wars thing at the science musem tomorrow at around 2pm (anyone want to come? =p haha).
If you guys plan to kick, and want another friend, please give me a ring at (310) 619-9317. I am staying at Lewis and Clark, so the city is just a hop skip and a jump away.
Peace kids. It sucks that you wont be around red, I would have loved to shred with ya.

Congrats to Sole Purpose player Nick Landes, who has just broken another barrier and hit ten unique fives in a row.
Blurry Drifter-Void-Matador-Blurry Whirl-Matador-Blurry Whirl-Spinning Whirl-PS Whirl-Spinning Whirl-PS Whirl
With a Tomahawk drop. Extra Sole Purpose points for nailing it at the Water Temple with Stefan as witness.
Nick has now has pretty much rounded out the original checklist, having hit
10 Unique Fearless
At least one to two Beast combos
20+ Tripless
At least Two Quad dexes
Great stuff Mr. Landes, let's see at least four triple dexes in a row. Now that you have crossed the threshold, I believe you can hit 15 unique fearless and 30 tripless. Keep up the good work!
Out here in Idaho, it seems everytime I kick with Jim he breaks a new personal boundary. Without going into all the insane details of our last five sessions, I will say today Jim hit a 152 contact run with more fives than I could keep track of. Around 140 he went fearless for at least four moves. Great stuff as well!

My girlfriend won't be there, but we will, and shredding our faces off. I can't wait for this event, shredding with you (first time in a while) and everyone esle. SJFF always seems to have HUGE guest lists, so I won't even name the people cuz it'll take too much time. Anyway, I'm stoked!Sporatical_Distractions wrote:I just had a dream about sjff.
