I dont know if your an animal/reptile fan but at the moment the shed aquriam is housing a fully grown living komodo dragon.funklovesfootbag wrote:Any suggestions on what I should do on the 1st before 5 pm? I kind of want to see SOME touristy/interesting part of chicago besides footbaggers... as much as I like you guys.
and that whole area is the best spot to view the sky line.
The city is not nearly as fun in the winter i must admit.
There is a really sweet multi level mall that is loaded with sweet arcades lazor tag and interesting stores/resturants. if my memory serves me correct its in the area of navy pier so you can combine both of those. I think its called north pier mall or something. I personally think navy pier is overated unless you like dig the imax experience then it may be worth your while.
Alot of cool options for lunch like ed debovics where its always a 50s theme and the service talks shit to you and treat you like an asshole and they dance on the tables and all sorts of funny shit.
Lincoln park zoo is open year round
If its shopping you want then the clock tower area is the place to be, not my style but a suggestion to all.
The art museum is a must see for most, even if your not a fan of art they have a pretty sweet collection of ancient armor and weaponry, alot of cool shit beyond all that english art and photography stuff. worth payin the few bucks and spending an hour in.
thats all i can think of for daytime shit, zeke and tom may have more suggestions since they live in the thick of it all. Im just an anoying suburb kid who takes forever to parralell park.

Ohhhhhh MAN. I am SO pumped. You guys don't even know, seriously.Like, SO pumped.
I don't even know if I'd really check out the sights...I'd prolly be most interested in playing footbag as much as possible. I feel like I've got plenty of time to do sight seeing in my own city, my whole reason for going there is to play footbag. And I can't wait! WOOOO FOOTBAG

I'm stoked about playing in this jam. I just want to see footbaggers in the midwest/west coast that are visiting to this NYJ.
And haymaker Henry in the face.

Yeah, not to sound like an unappreciative jerk, but I really don't give a shit about seeing the cities I go to shred in. I travelled all over europe playing footbag and only kinda glanced at the scenery.
We are all there for FOOOOOTBAAAAAAGGG!!!!!! I will use my peripheral vision to see the sights!
There are so many people I don't know that Ive wanted to know for so long and I really feel like there won't be enough time to spend time with everyone, let alone taking a chunk of the valuable time to go look at things.
I am not trying to sound jerky! I just really want to spend as much time with footbag people as possible! Maybe there could be options, like, whoever wants to go see shit can if they want.
Geez, there is this whole footbag community that's only 8 hours from me that Ive never got to meet, the injustice will finally end!

mosher your not sounding unapreciative by any means
please take minimal offense to this cause you are sounding very inconsiderate/self centered not unapreciative
you have already expressed your chicago intenary and we all respect that and a majority of others will most likely share the same agenda.
But as a few others have expressed like brad and fletch for example, not everyone is only coming to chicago for only footbag puropose, its thier vacation and if they dont want to spend the entire time in a shred circle, 4 square, or hotel room then thats thier own agenda and that does not reflect in any way shape or form on you or anyone else.
and mosher do not worry this is a long event you will have plenty of time to see us all, if a dozen of us go site seeing or bar hopping for one day after tourny hours then you will have a dozen or more others to bask in footbag madness with
Why does this keep getting brought up?
Seriously if your only coming to chicago for footbag, this does not need to be said or debated it will be an option and an option NO ONE will prevent you from taking..... so simar down peeps. everyone is free to do what they want and enjoy chicago thier own way
And im super super stoked as well, its all i can think about.

looks like everyone will get there fill and flavor of footbags.
me and holly will bring a box with a shitload of bags for sale.
id like to get a bag from every stitcher there, hopefully by trading. if not, ill be buying one (if its really worth it)
i wont be hitting up the night life, too cold, and id rather just chill with footbaggers from far away. and get high.
Soooo, is anybody else donating bags for prizes? i will.
