Odd places to Footbag

Post by Eric Chang »

I got bored and suddenly remembered trying to Footbag in an elevator going up. I manged to hit a few strings (this was about 6 months back) so I'm not as good as I now.

But what I remembered was as soon as I got out my body felt like it was moving up and down (body trying to adapt).

How bout you guys?

Taking the train or bus needs some ajusting :) Also, playing on unlevel ground, 10 degrees or so is really weird. Especially when you start spinning.

on the deck of a pool. and its bad too because A. the floor is obviously rough to avoid slipping, so the bag can get damaged and B. there's a 6 lane 25 yard pool within 4 feet of my playing radius.

but the grip is pretty good, and i get paid for footbagging (because im at work, so im getting paid either way...) and im usually wearing a dry bathing suit, which is usually fine for bagging in.

on trains. i usually go tiltless on moving subway trains when there is enough room. if you think people on the street think footbag looks weird...

bathrooms-this was in high school. they didnt care if i played in the hallways, but they knew that i meant i wasnt in class if i was supposed to be...

footbagging in an elevator while its going down is a lot of fun because of the delay. while its going up seems like itd be harder on your legs.

the bathroom at my college cause im a janitor... and well... fuck cleaning. footbag is better.

the shower. atw. pickups. and legovers. nothing where you jump though cause thats scarey.

i used to play on a grassy hill... but that was over the summer, it didn't work too well now that i look back on it...

in the dark... can't see
in a wind tunnel, try to keep it from going above u... you'd have to float upside down, and play in the air
and for taht matter... sky diving

Right in front of my college's Student Center, indoors. The floor literally has SOOOOO much room to do some kicking in front of the area and people rarely went in the past year or so. At least, that's how it used to be. Now the place is cluttered with seats and people might feel distracted and intimidated if they were to see some people kicking.

College balcony. I solo kick here at the college when I have time and whenever it's warm out. It's a very seclusive spot and there's a ton of area. However, security guards tend to investigate the area a lot, and doing some footbag in an area already suspicious of weed smokers can be a bad idea sometimes. Oh, and did I mention a playground just a couple of stories below the balcony, just close enough that if you dropped your bag down it would likely hit some small kid? Ouch.

Hillel club. HUGE room. Perfect for casual indoor play. If I didn't feel so alienated (I don't usually hang out at club rooms that much) in the place and if the wooden floor wasn't so uneven, I would play there with my heart's content.

One day me and a couple friends footbagged in an elevator in my residence hall 11 stories up and 11 stories down ...rpt. 3 times. That was kind of fun. We also played outside of a liquor store here in N. Philly....a subway station, and a balcony at these residence halls @ Drexel University! That's about all the not-so-normal places we've played.

Did I forget to mention that my college likes to bust down people playing footbag within the college campus? There's a ton of security guards patroling the area.

And I still think that playing in front of a Student Center (where professors and students enter in and out frequently) is pretty weird. And who forms a hack circle in a Jewish club room?
