Don't vote Democrat. Don't vote Republican. Don't vote Independent.

Vote for the most honest and most similar candidate to yourself. They are supposed to be representing YOU in congress. If they are dishonest, that reflects on YOU. If they vote for things you would never approve of, that reflects on YOU. Don't vote for a candidate just because they are in a certain party, vote for a candidate because you approve of their character and ideals.

Honestly, that's something that's been needed to be heard by Americans for way too long.

Don't vote for someone because you're told to. Vote for someone you feel can have a positive impact on this nation.

NOT voting is worse than voting for someone that you feel is not right for the job.

Lots of wisdom in this thread so far.

However
Not voting in certain races, or not at all, should not be considered worse than voting for whom you hate, just to punish a particular candidate.

Witholding your vote from a candidate you might normally support is only minus 1 vote.

Why vote in all races? most politicians deserve life in prison , or a firing squad in front of a ditch.

I will vote for the governor race, and maybe a few ballot propositions.

Jon Kyl is on his own, for his crimes, but I am not going to vote for the millionaire, elitist, party apparachik that is running against him either.

Vote for the candidates, and issues, that are important to you. Screw the rest.

Democrats and Republicans are part of a problem that still exists as a result of an antiquated governmental structure. The entire government is broken. Who you elect won't fix it.

Voting Democrat is the only chance to restore some sort of normalcy to this country. Having a Democrat majority in both the house and senate means a shot at impeaching Bush, Cheney, Rice and establishing a vote of "No confidence" in Donald Rumsfeld.

Voting for the candidate that most reflects you is for later. This is now and we have major problems that need to be fixed immediately. Voting independent splits the vote and voting republican is fucking stupid.

In George Washingtons final address as President, he said to keep the nation healthy we should refrain from TWO things:

1) stay out of foreign wars

2) Stay away from partisanship (the party system)

Hmm... maybe we should have listened to him? Sure as hell would make our nation healthier. My biggest pet peeve is when kids my age and younger say they are republican or democrat, i ask why, and they say their parents are, so they are. Wow. Think for yourself.

Same with religion. "im lutheran because my parents are" take a look at what else is out there.

my friend calls himself all 3, and i get pissed off when people say that.

my belief of christian: if u think jesus is the messiah
u are jewish if: u go to temple at least 3 times a year and celebrate all the holidays, the main ones at least
you are budhist if: you like to meditate, and truly belive in darma, karma, and enlightenment... all that stuff

just like political parties you can't be both or neither
you are one or another

A pure hate for Bush is such a stupid reason for voting all democrat. Like they were sayin, vote for who you agree with most. Putting democrats into power in Congress should have no affect on an impeachment. Bush hasn't done anything illegal. If a president was impeached purely because you disagree with him then our government would cease to exist. Anywho the most annoying thing is when people talk about Judaism (spelling?) as if it is like a nationality or something. They say like I am 50% Jewish. Wtf??

How terribly uninformed you are. Bush made a speech in Buffalo NY about 3 years ago and he was asked about wire taps on phones. He specifically said that wire taps require a court order. Before, during, and after that time he has authorized the use of wire taps without court orders. As the President of the US he has taken an oath of office which prohibits him lying to the american people. Just like When Clinton lied about the Lewinski shit. It's called Perjury.
