Is this a good camera?

Post by Switch Kicker »

I've been looking into photography as a new hobby. Been using pretty crappy camera for the past 2 months, and I'm looking into a new one.

It's simply just for hobby, nothing really fancy.

It also has a 5 year warranty included.

anyone want to point out some pros or cons about it before I go and buy it this weekend?

Thanks for any imput. Peace,
Fred

Hey it is pretty nice but also pretty pricey! Make sure you need everything it has to offer, or that you would want to learn everything it has to offer. I just bought a camera (I'll get it tomorrow!!!) And I spent LITERALLY over a week researching it.

Hope that helps! Also, I'm sure you can find it cheaper.

I've been looking at cameras for about 3 weeks now. And that is the cheapest it comes in. (That model I mean.)

The camera has to be a Nikon, have at least 6MP, digital, and 35mm Kodak film compatibility, and yes, most of the features on that camera I'm looking at using and some, learning.

I know, 700 is alot for a camera, lol, but it will last a good long while. I'm also buying a 60GB black video ipod that same day, so I'm going to talk them into a 15% discount on it all. I'm buying it in store.

Oh, and I got that new phone today, the Katana from sprint. (Mimic version of a Razr.) It is a $500 phone, and $300 if you get the 1 year plan, I got the 1 year plan, and talked them down to selling it to me for $20, and giving me a life time warranty on it free of charge (Usually costs a specific amount/month). Shipped itout yesterday, got it thismorning. You can't con a con... I'm pretty good at getting what I want at lower prices.

I know a couple people with that camera. They say they like using it.

I just bought a digital camera too. I would have loved to have bought a nice SLR, but I don't have the money. My "father-in-law" was looking into buying the same camera that you've linked to (we were even also shopping at Best Buy), I'm sure, and the girl told him that the Sony make of the comparable model (same price?) has a better lense... I don't know how true that is, but I thought I would mention it.
