Why does Daryl always write so much in here ?

Keep a diary of what you're hitting, what's frustrating you, and your goals.

you are so wonderful :D and you're right the munich blog kinda degenerated into some sort of message board, since two of the key players dropped out
(injuries) and our president is in ireland right now, spending more time on finding a four leaved clover than on playing hacky .

the secret trick btw is double spinning clipper, which i try for 3 minutes
every session...

and youre right again - a video would be nice

Hey Daryl! Nice to read about the stuff you're hitting recently, some really stylie combos (ducking mirage > atomsmasher (rpt) 8) ). I see that your DLO's are getting more and more solid, maybe you could try some set variations (Tapping DLO would be hot, if you haven't hit it already :D ). And good luck on hitting that Double Spinning Clipper - remember that high set and really fast first spot are key!

Cheers!

Hey Szymon ! Props on you guys just being consistently insane :!:

last sessions impressions :

-i had a lot of good runs again, always staring with different moves.

-my dlos are getting better : 5 differnt dlos in one string, atomsmasher>dlo
is getting easier, slowly of course.

- i like spinning clip>ducking clip a lot

blur>butter>blur>run>butter>stepping legoevr>legover>butter>st.leg>
butter>rip

spinning paradox whirl twice :D :D :D

Just some updates :

I was in Paris with my gf for the French Open and we spend a super
time there - i didnt shred much at all, and when i did it was tiredness> insecurity>repetitiveness rpt ( some decent runs on friday aside ),
but i finally got a flavor of this wonderful city and we got to see a lot of its beauty and versatility . Charles Dupuy named me "the footbagger who has seen most of Paris during a tournament ever " :D
.

Bevor i went i had a few sessions with some nice little progress in a lot of sections, but it was when i spend some time with the bag back home again, that gave me a full flegded footbag revelation :
i can really play  !

Eveything felt easier, more controlled - when i had good runs i could literallycommand my body to do the right things, and so i was finally able to stringguiltless combos with decent links and some variety too - it felt so great and i might add that a sense of security in my abillities, however small they might be, is clearly arising...

HighLights :

tap>quantum leg>butter>pdx mirage>smear>d.mir>smear>plo>butter>
dlo>drop on gyro toe

tap>d.mir>butter>pdx mir>rpt>smear>d.mir>butter>pdx mir rpt

diving clip>d.clip>dpdx mirage bs magelan>tap>smear>small combo bs

div clip>d.clip>rpt>spin clip>pdx mirage

butter>merkon>atomsmasher

atom>dimwalk>d.butter

why can i only remember drills and combos, but no runs...

Fuck Daryl! Your game seems to be taking off! Now I see why you were a little annoyed with how you played in Paris. I mean, to my mind you did a good job, but you seem to be way beyond what you showed us there.

10 guiltless, that's pretty sweet!
Good toe stuff! You can hit atom smasher basically out of everything 8O
Also nice tripless combos.

And I totally missed the spinning paradox whirl from early November (haven't read your footnovel in a while).

I like those footbag revelations. I always think: It's a small step for me, but a giant leap for my game

A warm thank you to the motivational experts Wim and Asmus -
you make me play footbag a lot more, plus i dont have to pay
neither psychartrist nor cheap hookers for ego boosts anymore :!:

Today i had a nice solo session. I felt strong and relaxed afterwards,
strong and serene like he man on extacy, but without the silly hair .

Drillwise i stuck to three combos mainly, striving for a more effortless
and accurate execution on both sides.

Between these lil work outs, i went for some longish runs .
Consistency and lenght were ok, but variety in tricks and links was good.

Tomorrow i plan to drill butterflies, dexless and stepping and i also wouldnt
mind to nail some of the moves on my secret deathlist.

atomsmasher>ducking mirage>rpt>small run from both sides 8)

smear>dimwalk>pdx mirage>rpt>butter>pdx mir>plo>ducking clipper

assasin midrun ( in a most crappy string ; will do it more decent 2morro )

diving clip>spin clip>d.clip almost bsos

nice runs that i cant fucking remember...

I had some very nice sensations after yesterdays' session -
i was tense and relaxed the same time, feeling strong and healthy,
like i was in the best form of my life and that was only the beginning .
:D
a nice change considering my dark troublesome injury times that
almost made me stop playing footbag ( inabillity>demotivation>
norek rpt) .

I will be guiltless for Santa .

I drilled a lot of weak components like stepping, dexless, flip pixie
and flip quantum ; there wasnt much time for hitting some of my deathmoves,
but dbl spin clip was on/off my foot and tapping
dlo was damm close.

I L-O-V-E that feeling. It only befalls me after a good swim/run though.
I call it 'The state of relaxed potential power' and as you have clearly noticed :o it's f*cking perfect for shred.

Life is good, footbag is good too at the moment :D

Bea and me finally got together for a session and she gets a big bowl of
honor points for turning up although she just got over some wird flu !

Today i went thru a lot of concepts, always on the look out for week bits,
and believe me, there's plenty .

I started with tiltless, trying to do as many clipper related moves as i could
next to all them toe things, plus i incorporated illusions, pick ups and atws.
I had 35-40somthing contacts thrice i think . Then it was time to move on
clipper only drills, b(o)ps and whirls. A hell of a lot of whirls finally -
its such a neat looking move and i always wanted to have it under me belt,
and now i go out working for it .

While Bea was working on her ducks, i went for a lot of spins, after that
we drilled stepping . The rest was all about runs and hard combos .
Bea hit blizzard>dimwalk both sides 8O

random stuff :

whirl bsos a lot ; footed gyro whirl at least 30 times :?

stepping clipper>blur >(run) bs

stepping clipper>spinning pdx mirage>butterfly

toeblur>atomsmasher>paradon 8)

smear>tap>butter>pdx mir>smear>tap>ducking mirage was annoying
the hell out of me. Not because i couldtnt do it, i just dint manage to
hit anything after the last trick..

dlo>atom>dlo>a...drop

quantum legover>plo>rpt>butter>pdx mir>smear

quantum legover>smear>plo>quantum legover>smear>butter>pdx mir>
smear>ducking mir>ducking clipper>
ducking clip (unsealed)

Yo Wim ! What about hooking me up with some drills ? And dont you dare
to use dirty words like"osis" and stuff .

That happenend way too many times on monday . There were so many
occasions of me not getting past the first to trix, but thats another stoy.
Part of that story actually makes me verry happy, cuz its good practice
for dlo>atomsmasher on my flipside, but thats beside the point.
Missing the last toe stall though, numerous times mind you, was driving
me mad...
never think you've nailed a trick unless it is propery sealed could be the lesson here, i guess .

But there was enjoyable moments too, like understanding spinning pdx
mirage, 6-7 consecutive pixie moves twice and playing rather fluently.
Still i'm waiting for the big bang - there's so many things on the brink
of breaking through . I cant wait.

Stuff :

quantum legover>smear>ducking mirage>d.clip>d.clip>spin clip>pdx mir
>smear>plo>atomsmasher
>stop ( see last paragraph )

tapping legover>buttefly>pdx mir>tap>run

magellan>plo>rpt>smear ( from flip)

smear>plo>rpt>tap>run

whirl>spinning pdx mir>butter>run (strong), d.clip>spin pdx mir>butt>run
(flip)

spinning pdx mir>atomsmasher>smear>run

I also drilled my flip ripwalk, whirls, dlos and gyro whirl

Yes Alter! Spinning from whirls is cool.

Dito for spinning pdx mir>atomic set! Except in my case I always do legbeaters from the mirage  . Your blog is inspiring.

now that is a nice comment :D

Tonite i had a session with my girlfriend - it was her first time and she did
well :D :D :D up to 5 consecutive kicks, mostly insides and some alter-
nating toestall action . If she keeps at it, i'd be one happy, lucked out
muthafucka !

I spotted a major flaw in my game . I never use my flip butterfly ever -
butter>pdx mir drills and all the "walk" tricks aside .
My right foot/side is dominant, thus when i feel a need for a switch after hitting a coupla toe trix on that side i hit plo, atom or stepping legover .

After noticing that, i constructed situations where bailing to butter is the
best option to keep the run going, lets say after dso or some shit .
I spend some time to get that simple switch pattern off trick>butter>pdx mir>trick>run on my flip too and i presume a huge up in run length
will be the result

Stuff :

plo>toe blur midstring

15 guiltless starting with spinning clipper>ducking clipper rpt :P

atomic legover>butter>pdx mir>smear>assasin

smear>butter>stepping legover>plo>smear>butter>stepping leg>dlo

spinning pdx mirage bsos

butter>whirl>pdx mir>butter>whirl>pdx mir>butter>pdx mirage>smear>
ducking mirage

my memory sucks, but there was a 17 contact run with one guilt and
one with dso>butter>pdx mirage>tap>run with d.mir, d.leg and ripwalk.

Haha yeah Daryl, props on the shit and the girlfriend. I bet 3 days among 100 footbag addicts in Paris has left a lasting influence :D .

Actually my girlfriend had a kick stage as well. She even bought lavers but then ditched them (and footbag altogether) when she discovered condition gym :x . But yeah, if yours keeps at it you're one lucky MF! And 5 kicks is probably better than my personal best after session 1

Teach her chest stall. That's funny.

And oh yeah, here are some drills as by request/promise. Some of them are in the vein of what you've been hitting, some aren't:

-toe whirl>pdx mirage RPT
-ducking clipper>pdx whirl>butt RPT
-spinning pdx mirage>legbeater, auch zweimal bitte
-15 butters? I don't know where you are as far as butterflies are concerned.
-atomic legover RPT (possibly too easy for you as you're doing atomics all over the place)
-drifter back2back
-zulu clipper back2back

And finally I know you've told me not to use dirty words, but I would like to recommend skooling osis. I have shitloads of osis related challenges!

Today there was mainly shred - at the moment , my footbag instincts
seem to prefer run after run to drill after drill.

I also worked on some single trix and gave my non existent routine
a coupla goes : the best attempt was 3 drops
8O , the worst was six,
but i opened up with toe blur, hit atom, plo and d.mirage bsos and so on...

Best run : 17 guiltless /the usual stuff, but a lotta bsos action and some decent links, starting with smear>tap>plo>rpt

New trick : whirling ss pick up after two tries 8)

Best drill :dlo>atomsmasher rpt ....finally....

overall i felt strong and confident ; 12-14 guiltless are becoming more and more standard, and sometimes i'm able to link well ...

thanx for your interest, guys - i hope i can make a vid soon and then you
can rip me apart
