SE Regionals 2: Electric Boogaloo

Post by Trey »

So, last month Elliott hosted the 2006 SouthEast Regional Tourney. Despite being both "dope" and "superfly" the tourney missed a few key elements: 4-square and novice/intermediate shred.

Therefore, I'll be hosting this second half tourney here in the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee.

WHEN: Saturday, December 2, 2006. 10am – 4 pm
WHERE: UTC Racquet Center (directions: http://www.gomocs.com/article.asp?articleid=9434 *note: these are for the tennis courts. The Racquet Center is immediately adjacent to the tennis courts.)
WHAT: Four-square Competition
Novice Competitions
Informal Freestyle and Net
WHO: You!
Also, this event coincides with the opening of Footbag as a university sponsored club here at UTC, so we need to show everybody what it’s all about.
PRICE: None.
LODGING: If you wish to stay in Chattanooga Friday or Saturday night, please plan ahead. A number of people may stay with me for free, but space is limited so act soon.

I encourage everyone to come out and enjoy a day shredding with other South Eastern players. Please RSVP as soon as possible.

If you need anymore information feel free to contact me at (931) 247-1989 or via email at [email protected] .

Is there a possibility for an indoor facility? It's gonna get colder and colder out there...
As for the date, anything but Nov. 4 for me.

i'll have to check and see what saturdays emily doesn't have to work before i place my vote. if you can manage to reserve some indoor space on campus that would be cool. do you guys have a decent rec. center? or that nice indoor buliding in coolidge park by the fountain, it's probably expensive though. well i've got plenty of bags leftover. also the order from freedom footbag came in the day after the SE so i've got 5 freedom bags and a couple dvd's fourcast & 1 vhs copy of shred at worlds 2002. in addition to all of that a shirt from the idaho shred a couple of months ago. so don't worry about buying any prizes.

alright trey a free rental! benefits are nice, huh? i'm sure i can bring 4 from the m'boro. i just want to clarify on the surface, so it's all tennis courts? do you know if there are any badminton or raquetball courts (along with net equipment) available? or do we need to bring our own stuff?

Great question.

The playing surface is carpeted, indoors.
There are numerous racquetball courts for playing net. I can get UTC to provide badminton nets, you'll just need to let me know how many you need. And you may have to set them up because I don't really know how.

Also, I was told that Powerade would be provided for free to us.
Come on SouthEast! Bring the noise!

the event is officially posted! it looks like we'll have both novice and open divisions for 4 - square. this event is free and there are plenty of prizes to win. so, there's no excuse for not attending or competing. sore losers beware! in addition there will be tons of time left to freestyle & net.
