Rubberman, where do you start it?

Post by zeroman13 »

Does it matter where you start rubberman? I've come close to hitting it starting from legbeater and atomsmasher, but starting from here is it really rubberman?

I had previously always thought that Rubberman always started with Legbeater, but recently people have argued the point with me. Personally i find that Legb>Blur is the toughest link so that should be hte pivotal link. But other ppl think it doesnt matter.

Personally i think you should start with legbeater. But im also drunk.

I don't think there's a right move to start on.

Rather, I think it's best to learn the drill so that you can start on any of the 3 moves on either side.

yeah, i just believe the original rubberman drill was blur>atom>leg>rpt so thats how i did it the one time i've done it fully. im going to drill it a lot when i come off my resting time for my right knee, which hurts like hell. i know i can hit it pretty comfortably already because of how easy it was when i finally did hit it. but anyway, ironically im pretty baked.

Thanks everyone!

I agree with Matt about starting it with any of the moves both sides.

I'm gonna drill this a lot because I think it's a fun and stylee combo.

Traditionally I think it starts from blur. Don't ask me why I say blur or where I got that from, it's just in my head it starts from there. Do I care how you start it ? Nope. For me it doesn't matter where I start rubberman, I'm inconsistant on each move

It doesn't matter, but I've heard it starts from blur too.

In my opinion, you have only hit a drill if you have hit every link in a row, not every trick. That means that for a 6-move drill (like rubberman), you have to hit 7 tricks in a row to complete it.

in the very first video this ever appeared in, Tuan started from blur.

That is why everyone has heard it starts from blur.

Yeah I heard it starts from blur... and I think blur > atom is the hardest link so that made sense to me. I agree with starting from every move on both sides though.

It doesn't really matter where you start from. That said, any drill will be harder/cooler for you or a spectator from a given point. Ripwalk-torque repeat is definitely easier (and less cool-looking) than torque-ripwalk repeat.

Based on this thread alone, people obviously find different links in rubberman harder than others. For some, leg-blur is the hard part, and therefore starting the drill on legbeater is the most legit. For others, blur-atom is the hard part, and therefore starting on blur is the most legit. For me personally, starting on atom smasher is the hardest.

I recommend trying to hit the drill (or any drill) the easiest way for you. Once you can get it from that point, challenge yourself by trying to hit it from other points.

If you can hit a drill from a given point, you can say you've hit it. If you can hit a drill starting from any point, then you can say you've mastered it.

yeah, blur>atom is definitely hardest for me. i really just thought about it. i thought i just hit it the "classic" way, but it was also the hardest starting link for me.

Like all drills that can start on clipper. It starts on clipper but counts no matter where you start it. You should always finish drills with one extra trick so that you can be sure each combo/link was executed.
