Post by Rash »

hi i´m from México, and this idea is for the Americans, and is what we would have to make an AMERICANFOOTBAGCHAMPIONSHIP to compete between all in addition to knowing quein is the best one of this continent
and to who we can to make this idea reality then when having the spirit of footbag, we know that we must play at least with all of our continent no?

Uh . . . U.S. Open is basically what you're describing. It happens. I believe I argued that it should be North American Open this year, but I didn't get too far. I even used the Euro's example. I like your thinking! Welcome to the forum!

PS I'm from Canada.

US open is pretty much for the whole continant, isn't it?

Kinda stupid that the U.S. always gets reffered to as America (after the continent) under normal circumstances, but when there's an event that acctualy involves the whole continent they switch back to they're more specific title. :P

you yankees and your crazy ideas!
jk, I don't care.

Every european country has their own championships, why should the U.S. change theirs to be something different? Every country needs their own champion. You should start a North American Footbag Commitee to organise the NA Championships, like europe has the European Footbag Commitee.

Mexico is definitely welcome at the next Texas Statewide tournament in Austin, Texas in October 2007. Austin is about a 6 hour drive from the Laredo / Nuevo Laredo border.

you really think this

i don`t think what the turnament is only for Amercicans (E.U.A), its for all of the continent the spirit of the competition what each person have in all of the world in first place its the continent and later the world, but without nobody makes nothing try to compete between all this spirit it only for to be conceited.

RawSko: if you think what this idea don’t have an a important footbag proposit I think what you not have news ideas for the best sport and this sport need new ideas for this an new sport and I write the necessary mensages for what the people at least understand the importance of all of new ideas.

Ville: I did not say to you that E.U.A must not have a Champion, I say you what out of the Champion, out of the distance out of the money, the competitiveness, play all of us for play what we love the footbag what is a form of live to share our thoughts and feelings and a brotherhood to this game.

and sorry for my English shit but i Know what you understand my idea.

sorry dude. Maybe you misunder me. I definately wasn't cutting up your idea. A continent-wide tourney sonds siiick!! I'm all for it. I'm just saying that the US open already sort of serves that purpose...

There is also the possiblity that I mussunderstood you and that you're not offended by me at all... I dunno. Either way, I like the idea of a continent-wide footbag tourney.

I think the best way to think about this sort of thing is in terms of broader footbag organisation. Each nation should have a national organisation that facilitates input from all the states/clubs of that nation. It should hold a national championships as one of its primary fuctions. Above these national organisations the IFPA is working on setting up regional commitiees along the lines of what exists in Europe - one of the things this commitee would oversee is a seperate regoinal tournament (that is, seperate from any national championships)
