No. The reason the Brisbane scene sucks is that there IS NO BRISBANE SCENE! I AM IT!!!!!

Jesse and Hagesy do not count as Brisbaneites.

The Brisbane scene sucks is because (even though I play in the Piazza every monday night) I am the only person who plays footbag in Brisbane!
Nothing else to add!

Jesse is a 16(?) year old in waaaaay east of the city... so far it's not worth considering... and Hagesy is almost in another timezone, he's so far north.

If you want to blame the 'brisbane scene' on anybody, it's me.

Brisbane suck as far as footabag is concerned.

The brisbane scene sucks because people would rather do other things that are fun rather than play footbag. Footbag is fun for only 0.00000000000000000000001% of the population so thats why i think numbers are down.

i really don't play too much anymore. We moved house and i don't really have anywhere to play. I am always too fucked from squash training anyways. I like going out and getting of my titties on heavy drinks and drugs and getting chicks numbers. Then in the morning when i have a pretty girls no i am too much of a pussy to call her. It is pretty funny really. all the numbers i have been getting have been from hot chics which i think is what is throwin me. Like i don't consider myself hot, so when i am about to ring a lass i am thinkin she could do so much better, just stupid unconfident stuff like that. I know if i be myself everything will turn out find but i never back myself when it comes to chics. Wonder where i get my pussy genes from. I think being direct is definately the right approach when it comes to girls. Which is how i am when i am of my face, because i don't care about the consequences etc. ah fuck it. thats my rant for the night.

hey there blog

well last night i went to this huge fucking octoberfest party thing with lots of german beer, dancing and chicks for all. I met this hot girl her name is sonny. I told her she was sexy and she told me i looked like the lead singer from blur. my response was that she smokes too much hooch. Anyway a long story short is i got her number and definately gonna call her. She lives down the beach but which is a bit of a mission from my place. She has cool taste in music as well. Nothin i hate more than girls going on about how they love shannon noll.

Had a terrible hangover. had a couple of spews while i was at golf. i am still feeling a little bit seedy.

I won my second club championship in a row.

I was the number one seed so i was expected to win. However i wasnt expecting to play benny isbel in the final. he is one of the juniors i coach and he knocked out the number 2 seed and the number 3 seed so he did a great job. Improving very fast, i am sure one day he will take my treasure club champ spot, but i wanna see how many i can win in a row now.

Murry osbourne has a second highest percentage at the club 60 percent. mine is the highest with 98.7 percent. Everytime he hit it tight, i kept it tight, everytime he hit it loose i would crack it low and hard and really punish. the poor guy didn't have a chance.

So the above results indicate my training is paying off. i am in the first month of my 8 month training program. I have to do a beep test, treadmill tests, and strength test next week. i am hoping to score high 13's in my beep test. i am slowly overloading my training in the correct cycles so i am building my endurance and strength base for the first 4 months and then work on speed and other more specific training in the last 4 months.

i have a tournament in mackay in about 3 weeks. The prize money is 5000 dollars all up so it would be nice to get a piece of that pie.

Do you ever worry about your recreational drug use, when it comes to competition?

Just wondering.

Anyway, I got some news.

Last Monday night I sent Foxy an SMS to make sure he's still alive. Turns out he is, has moved out of home and is living with his brother (still northside), has a girlfriend and is about to move again.

I told him about this guy Ravin I met last week and that, I'm still kicking on monday nights. He said he was thinking about playing again, but didn't have a bag, so I told him to definately come in on Monday.

Well, he rings me today to ask me to bring in some footbag DVD's. There's a small part of me thinking I shouldn't... that I probably won't see him again and will loose my DVD's. However, he was the best guy to have a session with and I'd love to have him kicking in a circle with me again, so I just got to support him. Also, I still consider him a mate. Though we've not been in contact for ages, I think footbag formed a special bond there. He's a good guy and I look foreward to seeing him again.
So, I'll see him tomorrow night for a kick (hopefully), as he's ordered two new bags from elemental and was actually talking about the Quantums!!!

Anyway, tomorrow is another day... I'll fill you in when I have more.

Cool gareth that is good news.

I normally only hit the drugs on a saturday night. I have a rest day from squash on sunday, so usually i am 100% better on monday. I think ecstasy is sort of better in a sense as it is mainly a headfuck, whereas drinking is full of all the wrong stuff for your body. But that point doesn't count because i always drink when i am out partying as well.

I think i have found the happy medium. Like i wanna really train hard for squash and improve, (which i am doin), and also havin a good time, dancin like a crazy money and not givin a fuck (which i am definately doin). Maybe if i didn't do drugs and drink i may be a better squash player but then i would only have half as much fun as i could.

However i did chow down 4 pills one evening during a squash tournament on saturday night about 6 months ago. I was in the final the next day. i think i got one point. and the craziest fucking headache i ever had. I thought i was goin to die.

But i think i am managing it pretty well.

Well, the Brisbane scene exploded in one night!

I'm warming up tonight and a guy walks up and introduces himself as 'Dave' and pulls out a 4pannel bead bag! He was able to hit some basic clippers and toe moves and seems keen to come back next week!

Then Foxy arrives and I find myself in a three man circle! Holy shit!!!!

Foxy was hitting some of his old tricks in no time, though a bit rusty. The circle really inspired me, too and I had some damn ok strings.

So, Foxy tells me he's keen to come back next week, and is contemplating selling bags at Southbank, like Forra used to. We'll have to wait and see what happens there. Also, he's saying his girlfriend is looking to get into stitching bags, too! Well...

So, with a degree of optimism I sign out saying that perhaps the Brisbane scene is still 'alive and kicking', so to speak. But then, next week is still 7 days away.

- I think what Alex said about a scene developing is right:
You can't just expect a scene to develop - ie. you have to keep plugging away and getting out and about.
BUT
by the same token I also believe you can't expect a scene to develop.
I.e. even if you do get out there, there are never guarantees. I hope you do find people to shred with but if not, hang in there and keep shredding for yourself.

Drunk lots on the weekend. Like friday night saturday night, sunday night. I was pretty tired at work. Fun times but.

I have to do a beep test tonight. I am aiming to get around 13 or above.

i have 8000 dollars saved up for a house. I am pretty happy with that.

a magpie keeps attacking me when i mow my bosses neighbours lawns. It is fuckin psycho and i poop myself everytime. so i am going to wear a motorcycle helmet in 37 degree heat today to get the job done. the things we do.

If you see a magpie kick it in its beak for me.

Last nights session was a bit exhausting, though nothing special. As I was warming up I was hitting some good, clean ripwalks, and thought the mood would continue on into the session... it was not to be. I did, however, come close to torque, but I'm just not sure how to finish the move. It's a funny one, and I might have to video myself to get a better idea as to what I'm doing.

Anyway, Foxy was keen for a weekend shred so I'm going to send out an SMS to Caroline, Jesse, and Raven inviting them to a BCS on Sat at about 11am. We'll see what happens.

I did an eggbeater about six months ago, and hit it with the back of my leg. It went straight through the vents of my fireplace and is stuck somewhere down the back. It's been there since. Maybe I'll get it back one day!
