Or is it the same as leather?

Mod like mesh lavers, it's actually easier than lavers. The soft inner layers are easy to cut and they separate nicely.
I also took some padding out of the bottom few inches of the tongue as it's all kinda bulky there.
You wind up with a bulky seam connecting the tongue and the toe area, this can be minimized but not removed without some serious reconstruction.
