well I'm getting very very close to pixie ss grifter but I'd bet a serious amount of cash that that trick has been hit before (and a long time ago at that).Wim wrote:'Smoking'? Anyway, good news is that I have quit smoking over a week ago and things seem to be kinda under control. It's still early in the quit-smoking process but I'm very confident for the future!

Had a couple of demos / workshops / shreds this w.e. Was very fun, a whole slew of freestylers showed up: Frank and Benoite from Paris + Seb, Wim, Julien, Samy, Alexis and myself from Brussels.
I'm just starting to feel the physical benefits to having stopped smoking and my run length is getting much much longer. I hit a couple of very long (for me= 30/40+) guiltless runs and generally felt pretty good about my game.
Had a BSOSed ps egg roll off my foot... hit loads of Janis was close to fury, bs bed and all downtime bs bed too. What else.. oh yeah hit 10 straight ripwalks > handcatch.. not really my type of thing. Hmm oh yeah I hit a really sweet rotor during the end-of-event-demo.. that ruled
Yeah, all in a all a nice w.e. with some nice prospects for my game.
Oh and it's been 4 weeks without a cigarette!

The other week, Dyalan and I stopped for a post-busking beer at The Paragon Hotel, next to the McDonalds, at Circular Quay. The Carlton Draught beer there brings back all nice memories of a few summers ago. Hope to see ya again soon, champ.
Oh and props on quitting smoking! 4 weeks gone, the rest should be easy for you!

I'm coming back to Syd. to live. Ok so it's still far away (Sept. '07 forecast for the moment) but yeah, that's the plan. Oh and if all does go to plan, I'll be bringing another footbagger with meKing Monkey wrote:The other week, Dyalan and I stopped for a post-busking beer at The Paragon Hotel, next to the McDonalds, at Circular Quay. Cheers Andrew, I'm just taking it easy
A couple more vids from some demos we did in Paris last week-end at some big "street" festival in one of Paris' most prestigious buildings:
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/10177 (10 mins)
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/10178 (the Cage !!! 10 mins )
they're both just a quick cut, no real editing or music. These were just demos but check out Serge's game, he's hitting some very nice stuff

Thanks Max! Great to see some Serge footage!
It was also cool with some doubles in it.. You see that too rarely.
I want to learn it one day.. If I just had someone to practice it with!
And I really like the "choose your own music"-idea..
I gonna go shred now!
Oh, can we get some updates on your quitting-smoking?

Quick Blog update, havn't posted in here in a while.
Well, I'm still not smoking, and that's close to 2.5 months now, so that's cool. My g/f should be moving in with in january, so that is also über-cool. Other than that I'm kicking about once a week and have hit the following new stuff:
toe drifter > ripstein
pdx drifter > ripstein
stepping ss whirl > ripstein
bedwetter > toe ripwalk
10 or so unique tripless
flipside [sidewalk > blur > parkwalk > ripwalk] (it's a combo I do quite a bit on my good side)
stepping ps egg
clip set miraging ps egg (those are two diff moves)
pixie ss grifter
I have set myself a list of tricks I want to hit in 2007:
Oh, oh, oh, this friday the 8th French Open starts!! I'll be organising the freestyle part of things, so I don't know how much actual footbag I'll get in there but it should be sweet. Some belgians are coming along too!

and I've already hit 7) and been close to most others. We'll see how that goes.1) flip miraging ps egg
2) pixie massacre (pixie illusioning op flail)
3) stepping ducking pdx drifter
4) stepping ducking pdx dlo
5) quantum whirl
6) flurry :-/
7) pixie ss grifter [3-11-2006]
8 gyro symp. eggbeater
9) symp egg beater > ss symp. eggbeater
10) fury.

Hell yeah!
I'm excited to see that trick list, most of all in relation to
1) flurry
2) stepping ducking
3) 10 or so unique tripless
in your most wanted tricks list!
1) I've been decently close to that one but I suck at the legover part
so perhaps we can do a flurry hit race one day
. Perhaps this w-e if you get the time?).
2) I never try that shit seriously but I'd like to hit that at some point, so I'm dying to see some stepping ducking in real life!
3) I know you're not very much into that stepping shit (though you hit a nice flip stepping combo), but I think a little stepping here and there would get you to (and beyond) 10 in no time.
EDIT: Oh sorry, the 10 tripless is in your 'already hit' list

OK so quite some things ent on since the last post. French Open and my trip to Ljubljana. I'll do one post for each. So I'll start with the THE 8th FRENCH OPEN
I was organising the freestyle parts of the competition along with some other French freestylers. I'm happy to say that the freestyle events all ran (roughly) on time and were wrapped up well within the alloted time. I didn't participte in routines due to organiztional duties but the videos can be found here:
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/video/Freestyle__
The whole event was a lot of fun with special EU guests from Switzerland (they're regulars), Germany (residents also), and newcomers from Belgium and Spain. Canada, Slovenia and I beleive Finland were also represented.
Anyway all this was loads of fun, highlights unclude Yves and Serge in the circle comp (they were both off the hook), Joel from Spain and his unbeleivable triple atw: they are super clean and soooooooo consistent. Hmm I'm not going to write a fulle fledged report.. but yeah it was a laugh.

Ok now on to Ljubljana! So last thursday I had to go to Ljubljana in Slovenia for business. I managed to spend the night there and thursday night I hooked up with local (net + freestyle) kickers Gasper and Bostjan (and yes I have spelled those wrong). Three other freestylers did a 90min car trip to come nd join us also. I felt rather proud because two of those three kids had apparently never kicked with anyone outside of Slovenia, or so I was told. Anyway, so Easy, Ales and ... damn I forget his name (shame on me) joined us and we had a solid 2.5h session where lots were hit! "Easy", the youngest one there at 14yr old was kicking ass with some solid fearless links, some 6s and some very promising shuffle. He reminded me of Vasek back in Budapest 2001! Saw him hit ripsteins, blurry blenders, spinning blenders, blurry torques amongst other things. He has a LOT of promise as he's been kicking roughly 2 years I think (and yeah he's 14).
Anyway, loads of good fun and I also managed to hit a new trick:
WHIRLWIND SWIRL !!
I had been trying this and getting close for quite some time now. I'm very happy to have hit it (and in front of others no less). Anyway yeah on the way back to Brussels i missed my connecting flight, spent 6h in the Vienna airport blablablablabla then got to Brussels to catch a train to Paris. That's 4 countries inone day
alright cheers, I'm out!
