I've moved from playing footbag in the drive way to the front yard.

Discuss.

well i'd say it depends on the surfaces on both driveway and yard. i've played in my driveway a few times, but never in my front yard, because its uneven grass, with intermittent dog shit.

anyone else have any input?

(or any input on the spam warfare that appears to be developing)

It's a fairly controversial move, but I've been getting some serious props about it, so I think I'm going to have to keep it.

Surface is a slight incline, but much harder which I think is worth the incline.

If it's covered in grass. I try not to play on it. I prefer concrete or wood floor.

Its fun to play in the gras and make a big dirt patch. It's a soft surface, but makes my shoes and bags dirty. What's worse for footbag longevity - wear from concrete or more frequent and rigorous washing?

Sooo, we played behind The Monumen Of the Soviet Army in the center of Sofia, (thats Bulgaria alright) there is something like a pit(square - 6x6 meters - smooth marble or granite flooring

)
and then we moved on front of the "National Palace of Culture" (duh)
also marble or granite flooring and much many people (potentional buyers of my bags

)

If you wash it properly... you shouldn't have any problems. Personally I prefer concrete to grass. Grass/dirt just feels messy. nice to practice symp on though.

I ususally play on my driveway that is asphalt and on a huge incline

, but I have thought about investing in some of those padded puzzle piece mats. What do you think about the mats?

Just to give you a crotch update: I've moved house and am playing on the patio of my backyard now. There's not really space out the front.

Well, while we are on a subject as intense as this, I should mention that for the last 2 weekends I moved from playing in a 3 foot by 4 foot square in my room, to outside by the rhein river, or on a wooden deck.

Damn warm weather is nice.

Hmm, yard shredding is good sometimes, it does depend on how dry and sturdy the dirt and grass is. For schooling hard tricks i'd rather play on pavement or the stuff tennis courts are made out of, oh yeah and that stuff at the Cornell Tourney was very nice and bouncy.

Anywhere soft/springy - i'm totally paranoid about concrete surfaces now - totally paranoid. If driveway = brick and front yard = grass then I reckon you've made a good move. Playing on grass feels whack at first but it really won't affect your game once you get used to it.
