Van Jam update

Post by blitz »

I've posted the event at footbag.org, and will keep it updated as things develop.

http://www.footbag.org/events/show/1164131460

London and I have discussed having competition at the event, and decided it's mostly up to you, the players. There have been some ideas thrown around, such as a 1-on-1 battle kind of Circle contest, since there won't be that many people. We could additionally/alternatively do Shred and/or Best trick, but I don't care so much about those. Please post your opinion, or email me directly.

In case anyone missed my last post (all the way at the bottom of the last page), here's the venue/schedule information again.

Where
Mount Pleasant Community Centre (just a few blocks from my house)
In "The Boardroom" (first room on the left from the main entrance)
3161 Ontario Street - Google Map

When
Saturday, Dec. 9th, 1pm-7pm
Sunday, Dec. 10th, 1pm-5pm

Last thing, we will probably have to ask for a small entry fee to help offset costs. Since it's just a jam, in the dead of winter no less, we are funding this out of our own pockets, so it would be nice to not go broke from it. I'm thinking $10-20 (Canadian of course) for the weekend, which seems reasonable. We're doing our best to make the Van Jam a lot of fun and worth the voyage.

Yours truly,
blitz

p.s. please let me know that you're coming if you haven't done so already.

Though small, this event is definitely in my top 3 ever.

Big ups to Eli/Caro for putting us all up!

Personally, I played pretty much the best I've ever played. It was a good weekend.

Caro is the shit!
London is the shit!

thanks guys, soooooo much. gotta agree with k-reg. despite blowing my hip out again and playing pretty much like crap the whole time, it was one of the most fun jams ever. so chill and fun and every one had a good time! totally tops.

This jam was the bomb. I hope more people come when something goes down in the summer, or maybe not? Either way that's bound to be equally kick ass. Kevin and Andrew are good dinner company. ;)

Big ups to Ellis, London, and Caro for getting this together. Thanks for the exclusive, Ellis. :) Thanks for the effort you guys put in despite the jam being in an off-month and having to pull from your pockets to get it together. Hopefully you came somewhat close to breaking even. The shirts are awesome. Super stoked that London has gotten so into shred as to push a tournament within his first year of playing. You're the man. I'm excited to see where your game goes. See you in May.

Hopefully I'll run into everyone before too long.

I also had a great time kicking with everyone and just hanging out. It's too bad I could't come for more of the social stuff, but I just didn't have time. Hopefully I will be in town for the next Van Jam.

Once again, it was great to meet everyone and see all the different playing styles. Also, thanks to everyone who gave me feedback and pointers on my game. Hope to see you all again sometime (relatively) soon.
