Part of the reason footbag has been so slow to develop, is that so many people in the community have the attitude that promoting the sport is the responsibility of other people, instead of taking initiative themselves.

"Why doesn't the IFPA sanction this event?"

-Did you ASK them to sanction it?

"Why isn't there a tournament in my state?

-Why don't you organize one?

"Why don't the people at footbag.org...?"

-As Eric pointed out: the people at footbag.org ARE US.

"I'm too lazy to wipe my own ass. Why isn't Steve Goldberg hiring somebody to wipe it for me?"

-Seriously, taking the attitude that OTHER people have the responsibility to make footbag great is really pathetic.

When I arrived at Cornell, I wanted people to play with. So what did I do? I looked for people, then I made a club. Then I recruited with my club. *BAM*, now I have people to play with. I wanted a tournament, so what did I do? I organized one, and people came.

If you want IFPA to sanction your event, then YOU need to be the one contacting them. Better yet, join the IFPA yourself and help them be more active. But complaining on an internet forum how they should be more active in seeking out your event is just lame.

I said it :).
But yes I wholeheartedly agree, but maybe in a more positive reinforcement way :P . Though some do need the negative.

I was enthused when I saw C-Fan posted here... Getting my excel spreadsheet ready to add a name. :D

Man, I read 'Eric' and I had an instant flashback to last night when Tom said 'Eric' when he ment to say 'Reile'. The combination of shock and horror on his face was gold :!:

I really wanted to kick it with GF, too bad I'll be missing him this round. He was one of the only veterans I really felt comfortable around and has put some great memories in store. GF and some Adam Keith (sp?). That guy is amazing, any latest and greatest about him ?

I'll be sitting on the sidelines too because of a knee injury probably. It will be fun anyways. :D

Anybody up for some handstand competitions ? If so, train up so we can do some distance, stairs, or some sort of agility things.

That is a clip from last year, I conjured up all my drunken energy and managed to balance it out for a good ways.

1. Sorry Tom, something about the Avatars confused me perhaps?

2. I feel the love for GF. Definitely one of the pros who made me feel most welcome on the scene when I started hitting tournies.

3. Sorry if I came off a bit harsh at the top of the page, but I think my point is valid.

4. Don't count me officially out for the Xmas jam.

Hell yeah. I was there in 2002 and it's still the longest distance I've ever travelled to a footbag event. You guys seriously have the best venue in the universe, and your event is so much bigger now. I wish I could make it this time; there are so many players I want to meet.

I had a lot of school work to cover over the past few weeks, and I was doing a massive recovery on ankle sprain. I will get to work on the prize bags this midweek - weekend. Promise, I swear! :(

When/If we find some downtime from partying and footbaggin would anyone be interested in playing some eucher

For those of you who dont know eucher is a 4 player (team game) of an altered short decked (9 through ace only 24 card deck) game of spades, kind of.

I heard it was popular in canada, and ever since i left college i never have anyone to play with anymore :(

just an idea, figured it would be something fun to do while drinking.

and on this note, talks of poker games should be in the wind as well
