Do forum Arguments Carry over at tournies?

I haven't been to a tourney in a while. But does all this hatred over the internet carry over to tournaments. I know its one thing to talk sh*t on line and what not, but some times I think about what it would be like if these people who get in these ridiculous, off topic, non-footbag related arguments on line got in a circle with one another? When we all get together at Worlds in Disney world, are people gonna be having these unnecessary arguments with one another over such trivial matters?

PS. Don't be immature and turn this into some stupid "flame war" as this community calls it. I never even heard that word used off the internet, maybe I am ignorant.

i think for the most part the answer is obviously no. most of the arguments and whatever arent nearly serious enough to be worth wasting tournament time for. however, in some extreme cases, i personally would have to take offense to someone else's presence who i had online problems with (if i ever bump into switch kicker at an event-which seems extremely unlikely to me-i would definitely have some choice words for him, likewise for ms. rose, which is slightly more likely)
but yeah, some people have said some things to people on the internet that i consider offensive and personal enough to warrant real life confrontation. not so much to me, but certainly if it was it would...cause problems should the person that said it be at a tourney i attended

i would really hope not. i had a fight with a dude on myspace once, i was just joking around and crap like that, but he really took it seriously. i kept on like calling him gay and stuff and commenting him with really funny yet offensive pics, not taking it seriously, but he got pissed off and said stuff like he was gunna kick my ass at school the next day. i finally realized that he was serious so i deleted him and i pretty much never talked to him again. the moral of that stupid sounding story is that people that make personal attacks online and think they're getting away with something are douche bags. i never take internet flaming seriously unless the other person does. so if i saw someone at a tourney that was making personal attacks online at me i would be a little ill-tempered. i guess pretty much just watch what you say online because you are representing yourself even if you arent there in person. just my two cents.

I think a number of the trivial arguments on this forum actually stem from other more serious arguments with people outside of this forum. The resentment these serious arguments cause lead to people carrying on the dislike on the forum. I know of a number of cases where that's fairly obvious.

I think it depends on a case per case basis. Some people have said some shit that made me wanna try and tear them apart. But, fortunatly for them I have a stoners memory and really can't put it all together to form a coherent thought. But I know I would want to beat the crap out of a few people in person. But, unless they started something, I would probably just try and win at 4 square. I love 4 square. Even if I lose I LOVE IT!

if someone really lost my respect because of something they said or did online, i'd probably just try to avoid them and stay polite at a tournament. inter-bagger conflict at an event can really throw the vibe off.

Word. Although generally i try not to buy into the bullshit, except if I believe the person is an absolute moron and there's a very low chance I'll ever meet them in real life. But yeah, I would just ignore them/be polite.

When I went to the US Open my first encounters with two people were them coming up to me and jokingly laying into me over something I did or said at modified. I knew they were joking but I still thought it was a little on the rude and ridiculous side. I would have preferred to have met both of these people without modified being a factor to be considered as they were both super cool at the tournament.

Well I have no plans to go to a Footbag tourny anytime soon, so half you people don't have to worry about running into me (Even though I totally different in real life.). I'm too big of a sarcastic ass, and no, I don't stop when I should, because I think it's hilarious.

Online, there is no defined line to stop at because I can't read body language and shit through the internet, so I tend not to care what someone thinks or says. However in real life, if I say something, and I see that it has offended, or annoyed someone, I shut up, not because I'm afraid, but because I see and understand them as a person now. (No, that doesn't mean I'm going to change my online personality. =P)

If I did go to a tourny (First off, you probably wouldn't recognize me, simply because I am not the same person.), and someone came up to me and started verbal shit about arguements on here, I would laugh my ass off. If that person got physical over it, I would waste no time in shanking them. I don't have time for stupidity in real life.

This is like, my first non-retardedly (lol), pointless post in.... ... a good 6 months maybe?

Funny, I actually try to treat people with respect online and try to foster friendships. I guess that's just me though.

This is the reason I created this thread. I am shocked people say things just "cause its the internet." Maybe this is just my point of view, but yea, this is the internet, and you are not just a nobody posting on here. I know that when a name comes up with a comment on the forum that there is a human typing in that comment. I react to the person, not there fake internet identity. Come on thats bullshit, saying this is just the internet. If thats what it is to you then find a forum where there are people that post and all have created fake indentities. When I read someones post on here, I honestly belive that there is some on the other side that cares. Get what I am saying? Its about being true to other people.
