well, I would still consider all those negative comments directed at Switch Kicker flames. Perhaps we need to define flaming if you're going to say that it's not that... I think a propper definition of the term would help us to understand this "Modified Challenge."
I always thought that flaming at somebody meant that you were basically saying that they're stupid and just being mean to them... is this not what flaming is?
this is all serious discussion. I'm not offended or being deffensive or anything. I'm actually interested

Im so glad I never offended a single person on this forum. I just spent the last 10 minutes reading the past 6 pages of posts. It was a nice break from this depressing paper I am writing on the Heroin problem in Philadelphia. Thanks guys. Now someone say something about me I feel left out. Alright, see I just posted something that someone could pass judgement on. I don't get why everyone has to be so judgemental on here. I think sometimes people agree with what others are saying, they just want to disagree for no reason, just to post.
When I first joined this forum, I looked at it for months before hand. I am a shy kid I guess. Then I met some people at a few tournaments and I realized I felt comfortable posting. I don't post a lot and I try to post as much as possible about footbag.
Before it was said that this was not intended to be a footbag resource. Well, from what I have found, its probably the greatest footbag resource there is.
I don't have any authority here, Compared to how long I have had lavers, I am not that good at footbag, and most people probably don't know me. But I think sometimes people say things on the internet they would not say in person. Think about that.
Lastly, look at Peter Irish's posts, and Kenny Schultzs'. Two pioneers of this great sport, have you seen them "flame" anyone?

Kenny Shults, the founding father of modern freestyle, used to post on these forums. But then Sam flamed him, and so he left. So if anybody ever has any doubt about whether or not flaming is a good thing or not, think about that. There used to be a time where you could talk to Kenny Shults here. Damn.
Am I supposed to be upset that Kenny thought he was entitled to special status and protections, or that Sam thought he had the right to post what he was thinking at the time ?
It is a shame that gumby isn't online to explain what blurry really means to all the new players. I'm sure they would have all fallen in line with his reasoning.

This all makes me very sad. I can't say that I've never talked any shit on here, nobody is perfect. This, however, is completely ridiculous. Stop. Just stop, all of you. It's a disgrace to footbag and to yourselves. Even the people who are just defending themselves still look foolish. The only thing people should be posting from this point on are apologies for the stupid shit that's been said. If you don't have anything nice to say then shut your fucking trap or go away. STOP "FLAMING"! (sounds funny coming from a guy called Torch)

well said...There's no need for unnecessary drama. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions...a part of growing up is learning how to accept that. Flame fests shouldn't be a part of this community...we're all friends heretstep84 wrote:lets just play more footbag and talk less shit. How bout it?
SO lace up those lavers and hit some new tricks instead of having a flame war! It's much more gratifiying!

Whoa, I'm glad I totally missed this whole thread.
This is all so stupid and people keep making themselves look like loose-cannon idiots that have no self-control.
Everything is fine and if a few select people just quit being babies all the problems would go away.
Anycase, people are making this into a big deal when it's just a pile of stupid nothingness.

I really don't understand what the above posts are about. Looking through this topic, I saw very few serious flames. If you thought a flame in this topic was serious, perhaps you should go and read it again. I see a number of tongue in cheek posts, maybe 2 serious flames, a number of posts trying to stifle debate and then a large amount of posts trying to address the problem. It's all very well to say that if a couple of people just stopped posting things would be better, but the fact is that a very large amount of people on this forum, especially people who have been here for over 2 years, have expressed numerous concerns about the quality of modified, including, in my opinion, the three most talented regular posters on this forum (footbag skill wise). Now while I do not think that modified should base forum policy on what the best players think should happen, I also think it's a clear indication of the fact there are some problems on this forum. This topic has been used by a number of people - Lon Smith, Dyalander, Myself - to try and look for solutions to those problems. While perhaps I regret my last post in this topic as being unconstructive, it's no more unconstructive then stopping discussion and pretending there is no problem. This topic is not the problem, it's a place to discuss the problem and try to constructively fix the problem.
Everything is not fine, things could be a great deal better, and unless there is some genuine discussion, it's hard to see that ever happening.

Isn't it though? I was going for a humor on that. The Actual Sized E wrote:It's awesome that you misspelt misspeltSwitch Kicker wrote:mispelt (SP? =p)
The [Flame][/Flame] thing you did was, stupid. And secondly, opinions don't have to be informed, they can just, be. And you call me ignorant? Do I have to have a reason to dislike the color yellow? No, I don't, but that's my opinion, so shut up bitch.
I don't understand you people. It's hilarious. Don't you even see why people like me do this? It's funny. All I have to do, is come on here, post something laid back, and stupid, and you guys get just so pissed off it's hilarious.
My god, I could almost beat off it's so damn funny. Why the fuck do you care, what I say on these boards? Why? I don't get it.
And now you're trying to put a definition on the word, "Flame." It's fire, for one thing, dumbasses. As for the internet bitching version of the word, it represents anything mean, disrespectful or degrading aim offensively at another. There's your definition. It can't be defined. Because anyone, can find anything, offensive, depending on who they are. If some one had a traumatic (SP?) incident as a child, that involved the color purple, and they come on this site and see purple, guess what, they're gonna be offended. Get the fuck over all your minor inconveniences, and just fucking talk about footbag. You people, are stupid.
And the reason I don't venture into footbag related topics, is because no body is there, because you're all here, beating off to the fact that you can discuss philosophy using words that half of you don't understand simply because you think it sounds good or sophisticated. Get the fuck off your high horse, and quit with the act. It's people like you, that make society fucking suck. "We can't say this or that, because it would be improper, or inappropriate." Or, "We can't misspell words, because that doesn't look proper." It's stupid. THat's what you fucking dingle berries are going to turn into. Wanna be stuck up snobs, but a hell of a lot more poor.
And no, I don't graduate high school till June.
This was a colossul (SP?) waste of time, because I don't even know if I'm going to get a laugh out of this one.
Eat a dick.
