Soliciting for help... Volunteer Sign-up Sheet

Post by enlightener »

NYJ "Interactive Zone" Volunteer Sign-up sheet

For those of you that have been to this event, you know about the Interactive Zone. The reason we have the site is to reach out to the people of Chicago and to introduce to them the sport of footbag. If we don't follow through with our outreach, we will not get this site again next year. Thanks for all the interest so far. I will be updating this page as I hear from people who are volunteering, as to their scheduled time and day. If you have a preference, let me know as a side note to reduce listclogging.

Anyone who would like to help ensure that we get this site again next year, please contact me directly to volunteer for a 2-hour shift (or more) in the Interactive Zone, teaching people how to play footbag, giving away a footbag to those who try.

Thursday
10-12 Scott
12-2
2-4 John MaHood
Friday
10-12 Scott
12-2 Carlos
2-4
Saturday
10-12 Scott
12-2
2-4 Sean Boyle

SCRATCH:

Best regards,
Scott Davidson

Since I like feeling helpful, I will also fill a shift in the interactive zone. :)

Anyone works for me, I am flexible.

Scott and I talked and I think he forgot to say two things.

1. Ask people to PM him with their offers to volunteer and their time requests. Please PM Scott instead of posting here.

2. He will edit that post to update it with who has what times instead of making a new one any time soon.

We discussed these along with him posting the time slot and the point of #1 and #2 is to prevent thread clogging.

I think you should get more than 30! A lot of people are coming..but who knows. I'd like to reserve a medium asap.

I will help with anything that doesn't require physical labor because of my knee. Donating the red/white/blue bag in this pic. Save your lunch money for the rest of em. Bags #35-43. :D I'll have at least 5 more probably as well.

Jon is right. Scott has run lots of events round these parts for longer than I've been kicking. All the people coming out over the years, have made New Year's Jam the best of the year, and CIC co-running, as of last year, has made it explode exponentially. Or at least geometrically ;).

This year we will use less sticky tape for the 4-square. Thanks for the input, Jon.

Zeke and I helped on the interactive zone last year. People come up and ask q's and you kick with them. Mostly kids. I think they get a footbag if they can kick it a few times. Scott gives these footbags out. He buys them. If you'd like to donate to this cause which helps out the event, please do.

On a personal note. I'm sore from playing footbag 5 times in 7 days. I vow to play at least 30 minutes a day till New Year's Jam, to get in good shape. Play more then 30 most days, but it's a minimum for every day.

What a shame I don't buy bags anymore... I would totally have gotten one of the first picks seeing as how he crashes at my place before the event...

HAHAAHAHAAHAHAAHAAAHAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAAHAHAAHAAHAHAHAAHA :!:

unless of course I was mistaken about when he comes in....
I got first pick at Mirkens last year (I think)! I saw him come over the table not too far away from where I was stalking him. I don't think anyone had noticed he had the bags in his hand so I made my move. I tried to keep it sublte so as not to draw any attention. I didn't walk - it was more like floating over to where he had put the buffet of 32 panel facile bliss on the table. I still have them in the same beautiful brand new condition that I bought them in [droolgasm]
