everything is finally claming down around here and to top it all off i had a really good session. everything felt a lot more controlled and i worked my flip a lot. both are areas that ive been conerned with lately.

smear>plo rpt>magellan>plo rpt
dimwalk>blur rpt midstring
schmoe>dimwalk rpt
stepping lo>parkwalk rpt
flip torque
flip swirl
flip blender
10 ripwalks(record is 11)
390 kicks
drifter>whirl rpt
pixie mirage>smear rpt
blurry whirl bsos
duck>whirl rpt
duck>stepping clip rpt
datw in bsos(flip is new)
ddd bsos
ripwalk> sidewalk rpt
footed fairy swirl and flip tomahawk
pixie clip>dlo rpt
whirl>dyno bsos
simple swirl bsos
step out of phoenix
blurry whirl and blurriest are getting easier
spin> duck rpt
my strings were awesome today, lots of pretty long shuffle interspersed

im REALLY happy with this shred. i cant wait for another.

still having trouble playing on a regular bases but i fit it in when i can. it pisses me off because injury or something legitimate like that isnt keeping me from playing. mostly stupid shit going on in my life that id rather forget. so im super happy when i squeeze a session in. todays was about 45 minutes.

flip datw out twice
flip whirling swirl
flip rev up
phoenix>blurriest(new 5>5)
datw in bsos again
working on smear>plo rpt >magellan>plo rpt>dimwalk>blur rpt
pdx dlo bsos
gyro clip bsos

so im feeling really good that my flip is catching up. now its time to sauce everything. and maybe hit phoenix>blurriest>blurry whirl

life is pretty sucky in my current situation. so bad on so mant levels.

my back hurts more than just about anything has hurt me my whole life. it started yesterday as this little tiny thing that i thought nothing of, then i went and played last night and it started acting up but i played through it anywya. im told that i probably pinched a nerve and it should go away. im really hoping it does.

also my phone is screwed up. i have the worst luck with phones. i was sending a text message to my friend and the batery died while i was sending it. so i plugged it in and let it charge and when i turned it back on it was all messed up and shit. im so pissed.

and im grounded...again. so the stroy is i was grounded up until last night when i was allowed to go kick with dave. i was supposed to be back home by ten because it was a "school night". so i walk in the door at freakin 10:02 and my dad tells me im late and that im grounded again and gives me a fucking lecture. i was so pissed i just stood there glaring, which made him even more unhappy.

aside from all that there was a brief ray of sunshine. i got to kick with dave yesterday as mentioned above. the shred started out slow picked up and then took a drastic dive when my back started killing me. bummer. and i recieved an awesome pair of climas for a christmas present. now i have shred shoes to walk around in. im still sticking to lavers though.

so i made up some excuse as to why i had to stay home from school today because i wouldve never made it out alive in my current situation of pain. which leaves me sitting here in front of the computer with a heating pad on my back which isnt even really helping. :( boo to my current situation.

thanks man, yea maybe at worlds if i get to go.

well things looked up today. i got my phone fixed but like everything got deleted which isnt really a big deal except now i have to get all the numbers back from all my friends.

my back is feeling loads better. last time i wrote it hurt to do anything. even like look down or take a deep breath. now i can pretty much do anything but i get a little tinge here and there. and finally, i got to shred with dave which was super awesome. he broke the blurry drifter record like first try. i played semi-well, although i kinda toned it down as to not hurt my back again, but i was more solid than the other day. idk if this means im ungrounded but at least i got to shred with dave again before he went away for like 2 weeks.

plus i got a new bag from dave. his bags are so awesome. i played for a half hour with the one he gave me and it was great. i think theres a pic of it in the stitcher thread. i havent had a new bag in a while and im super pumped that my bag count has upped one and is now four. sweet.

mtoolan wrote:I had a good, productive session right after school today. I noticed improvement in everything. I've worked out this kind of drilling regimen. I have a cd playing and each move gets its own song. It goes like this:

Song 1: Kicking
Song 2: ATW
Song 3: Flip ATW
Song 4: Legover
Song 5: Flip Legover
Song 6: Mirage
Song 7: Flip Mirage
Song 8: Clipper
Song 9: Flip Clipper
Song 10: Butterfly
Song 11: Flip Butterfly
Song 12: Kicking
Song 13: Stretching

And once I dial one move I'll replace it with another. Except for the kicking and stretching. Also, all the songs are 5+ minutes so they all get a good amount of time. I plan to do this 1 or 2 times a day. Then I can move on to bigger and better moves and start forming some good lines.
Dear Mike Toolan,
I thought I would thank you personally for upping my game; I apologize for clogging up your blog with it, but I adopted this handy-dandy little idea of yours. I used it today for the first time, and I honestly think it was my most productive sesh. I have ever had. Of course, I changed a thing here or there, but for the most part I kept it the same. I've been having a awful time motivating myself to work on Flipside...n this pretty much broke that barrier for me (not quite as impressive as breaking the sound barrier, but hey we're taking bay steps here :)). So I'd just like to say thank you, and Happy Shredding! :D

thanks.

Well I feel like shit today. I picked up a really bad cold from some kid over the weekend. Soar throat, headache, really clogged nose. It sucks big time.

I've played like 4 times this week. None of them were really great but it wasn't terrible either. Hopefully it'll pick up when I get better.

So much crap is going on lately. I've had three major school projects due over winter break and I left all three until the last minute. I finished two but now I have to write a paper that was actually due today, but if I hand it in tomorrow it's only ten points off. So I'll get a 90 for sure.

Also, there's this girl my two friends were trying to hook me up with, and she's really cool and shes cute. But everytime she asks me to go somewhere I've had to say no because of the school things plus my car being broken. I don't think she's given up on me though so we'll see what happens.
