swirlwind is going to be ridiculous! The rhythm on it is a LOT harder than swirling spender. But we'll see what comes next, maybe I'll have a session today. I wish I could figure out some way to get filmed...

hey matt, I snagged the video of you on YTV off of peng, and am digitizing it. I actually have a copy on my computer already, but its totally ballz. the problem is that I imported it in a format that windows movie maker didn't like, so I had to convert it before editing it, then convert it again to save it, so its totally jumpy and out of sync. I'm going to import it again, but I'm pretty busy these days. I'll try and have it for you on thursday maybe.

You look great in it, and give good advice. Too bad the YTV people are such fucking wierdos. Man, that channel has gone way downhill. Did you get a chance to hit on the one with the high pitched voice? that's what I woulda done if I was in the studio...

played today, second time since swirling spender day. Wasn't even close to it today, I wish I'd taken notes. I played almost all casual today, because I was playing with a hacker, so I didn't want to do more than a few tricks at a time. However, I did manage to hit flip barroque first try ever, which was a huge wonderful surprise, and a while later, I hit symp blazing far legover. that was cool. thanks RT for the inspiration.

I'm really psyched about my TV spot. It was a lot of fun to do it, and I think I did a good job. I wish I'd known the time frame was so short, or I would have gone through the toes / insides / clippers much faster, and done something better than double around the world to end, maybe riptide or symp whirling swirl or something.

I'm just glad I did it dropless first try

as for having busted something like swirling mobius... daaaamn, I've never done that without at least 10 tries first, that wouldn't have been the choice

gotta go with those SOLID things when you're trying to rep.

I have stitched one bag since kickass... gotta get on that. totally unmotivated... I have 3 bags on waiting, 2 for nick l, one for mike a.

I wish I was a better guitar player. I want to be totally badass. I want to be jaw dropping... better get to work.

MAN! I didn't even know about you being on TV, I gotta get more in tune with that kind of stuff. Anyway, props on the dropless, I know from lots of experiance that it's very hard (impossible for me) to do an entire demo dropless.

You need to take your time with those bags, maybe we can even do a trade later on, but right now, I'm spending money on footbag jams and not footbags. It's just hard for me to resist the temptation of a brand new Matt Cross bag. For anyone who hasn't seen Matt's bags, they are very sexy lookin' and perfectly stitched, and as all footbags should be, great for freestyle.

My dad took my little brother and a pile of his friends up to kingston the other day to use their climbing gym, so I hitched a ride to shred with tom + KFM. Derrick and John Bagi made it out. Before D and J made it to the session, I hit legbreaker swirl 2nd try, and alpine tombstone first try. i was pretty psyched about that, considering they were both new moves. then, later in the session, i hit my first 6 > 6, that being blurry motion > mullet. I also hit a weird new move, a paradox blender > infraction as one motion. so, you catch the blender in frigid position, and wrap it in to an inside stall, instead of carrying it to clipper. I call it crankshaft. it really hurt my knee to do it. I doubt I will put much time into trying to hit it again.

then tom and derrick and I went to tom's house and vaped and drank good beer for a little while before my dad picked me up. I stuffed some fungus under my big fat shoelaces on my striped lavers, which I took home and ate that evening, yielding a rather unenjoyable solo trip. at least it wasn't too intense.

The next day, I played with some roman players, with HUGE bags. I brought a circa-2000 carol bag covered in patch tape (about twice the size of your average freestyle bag these days), and they had a sandmaster, which was even bigger than that. I didn't play too well with my hurt knee, but I stayed smooth and busted some tricks, and hit diving drifter (no use trying for the step with those massive bags).

I've stitched one bag since kickass. I guess I should go continue on one right now, but jeez... NO motivation to stitch. I could use the cash... and I've promised one to chris for the new year's jam. I've got work to do.

Guitar is going well, I wrote one of my better songs last week. It's very simple and true. I like that about it. I think the chicks will dig it... now if only the chick it's actually about will dig it... then life is good. but not yet.

we'll see. she's crazy anyway.

christmas was wonderful. I got some candy and some money and a leather jacket from the salvation army (which, honestly, I don't like. I went there today and bought one I like better, though). My parents are the best. I bought everyone in the family alcohol this year. I bought two jugs of good beer from the local brewpub for dad and brother #1, a bottle of gin for brother #2 (who told me today that, for future reference, he likes SoCo. Fair enough), and a bottle of wine for mom. Brother #1 got me a mixed 6 pack of good beers.

My dad and #1 and I drank the beer and talked about it, and it turned out to be an enjoyable set of gifts, though inexpensive. I can't say I've ever bought them something that yielded as much conversation and enjoyment... Dad shelves books and CDs... he has too many... so, what else to buy him? I should bring home good beer every time I come.

This particular instance, I lucked out. I went to the brewpub to buy the good beer, and my landlord was there drinking, and he bought the two jugs for me. Nice guy... Definitely trying to butter me up so we rent his property next year. He's all right, though. I just have to call him 8,000 times to get him to fix anything around the house, which is a regular occurrence, considering my house is a shithole. Anyway, he bought me some beer, so he's okay with me

I'm going out with some old friends to catch up and drink... life is good.

not sure what I'll do with it. Might give it as a present tomorrow.

in the past two days, I've received the opportunity to take up some pretty awesome footbag gigs, in in NYC in a month, another in Long island in 2 months. The first is a HUGE toy show, 4 day gig, the second is a bar mitzvah. I'm definitely making business cards for these. The last time I did a party, I missed out on a million chances to get other gigs because I didn't have promo material. I've got the perfect slogan for it, too... Can't wait...

It's been a slow winter, but some of us are fairly active. I wish I can say the same for myself.

NYFA has a yahoo group listing - just search "nyfootbag" if you want the scoop on our hackybag session times. I'm sure we can make some plans to kick, chill, and party.

I wish you the best of luck in these gigs. I think 2007 is starting to be a good year.
