Montreal is going to Chi.
Toronto and Brantford people dont have cars.
Kingstoners are all going to Chi as far as I know.

NYFA and NJ I wonder about. I dont think NJ people peruse the forums, they probably aren't even aware this is going on. Somerville should be notified, also there are individuals all over the place that can be personally invited.

Waylon was a bit ambiguous but it sounded like he couldnt afford it, but maybe free lodging and entry will persuade him. Are you in contact with the rest of the NYC kickers, Waylon? You guys and girls came up last year, sooooooo do it again!

We already have a good handful of attendees, most notably our favorite posse, the Embassy has confirmed. So it's already a success, although by no means a huge event. Let's make it one.

Here are some t-shirt logos I have come up with. I am not a designer in any way so I will not be offended by comments or suggestions. Feel free to submit your own designs. I will be placing orders for t-shirts Friday of this week - that's in two days - given that we can agree on a logo.

Looks good. Great layout, my favorite is the last one, except the font on the first is great. There's just two things I would change if I were me. Just personal taste though.

1. too many words and letters and numbers and hyphens and colons. Like, the "rochester footbag association" and "new year jam" are kinda repetitive when you already have "RFA" and "NYJ" on the shirt. Same thing with 2006-2007 right next to 06-07. I like the simplicity of just having RFA and NYJ as the only information on display.

2. i liked the name "hack-a-thon". Or something to that effect. Hack is an awesome word. There's already a NYJ happening somewhere else, we could be originaler. The originalest; with personality too.

So how about like:

RFA 12.31.06.
Extreme Hack Bloodbath
CAGEMATCH EDITION

With some badass design and font, maybe the cagematch part could be dripping blood or on fire or something, with like a grenade somewhere, with images of bullet holes all over the shirt. The letters would be atop a mountain of burning amplifiers and wrecked monster trucks and on the back you'd have a scantily-clad punkish looking girl with messed up dreadlocks and ripped fishnet stockings kicking a spiked bag with beat-up grungy shoes. that would rule!

But honestly, the more I think about it, the more I like sound of RFA: Extreme Hack Bloodbath. Could work, or not. I'd just like to come up with something different than NYJ... that's the name for a different event that has been going on for years.

Who knew that Dean was so sick and twisted your so mild mannared in person but when typing on modified your a mad man. Yeah I think you should go kinda crazy with the t-shirt it would get me more interested in going and I assume some others. I don't know how many people will go to a tourny because of a t shirt but it just might get me up there.

haha I dont actually think it's feasible to have all that stuff on a t-shirt, that part was just a rant. That was just meant to be a short comment on the shirt design, but you know.

I like Mike's third design up there. If we're going to change the words then we could work with that layout and monkey with text placement.

Xtreme Hack!! I have a couple crochet bags. We should have a jester competition.

How about the last logo design with the following changes...

Come up with words for the acronym YEAH, like Year End Annual Hackathon. Replace the bottom words "New Year's Jam..." with "Year End Annual Hackathon" and have in the center circle in big letters YEAH 2006.

Next year players will be asking each other, "Hey, you going to YEAH!" and the response will be "YEAH!" and the other will say "YEAH!" and everyone around will be like "YEAH!"

I don't know, just a thought.

I have submitted the 4th logo "YEAH" to the t-shirt place HTB Press. I went there in person today to discuss pricing and other details. I will be making a down payment on the order Monday around noon. I will be getting 25 t-shirts, white logo on black shirt, sizes small, medium, and large. If you manage to get more people to commit to this event, please let me know and I will adjust the quantity of shirts to order accordingly.

By the way, I am going out for drinks with a friend of mine, Tim. He happens to be a DJ who loves to spin (records). I am going to ask if he would like to spin on one of the event nights. Also, I am going to ask my brother if I can borrow a set of speakers and an amp so we can have nice, clean, loud music playing while we shred. I am going to setup an FTP server this weekend (takes 2 minutes) so that people can send to me mp3s that they have and would like to hear during the event.

So, I've been thinking about something today.

There's not a lot of people coming to this event.

and I just wanted to say, I'm okay with that. Some of you players coming to this event have really been some of the most important people in my life in the past few years, and I'm really looking forward to spending new years with you guys. I'm so glad I'm going to be able to ring in the new year with some of my closest friends.

Yeah Matt, since I didn't even find a venue until after December had begun, I never intended it to be more than a small get together. It'll be a good clan of 10-15.

However, I would still like to see if certain others can possibly attend. I'll try contacting people personally.

Sorry for the late post Chris. I thought my previous post summed up my situation, and the situation is that I can't make it.

My ankle still feels very sore and I'm too poor to afford to make the trip up there. Plus, with all of the tournaments and jams that I've gone to this year, I would like to save some time for myself to rest through these cold months.

NYFA has been busy lately. We just made a proper send off to one of our beloved EC players, Benny Kellman, and we had an excellent turnout like Drew mentioned in the official topic. Bruce Dole is sick with the flu, Stan is busy with work I think, and the rest probably have plans that go outside of footbag. I think Drew and maybe Ken David can make it up there, but I'm not too sure about it.

I'm not sure about the NJ kickers and the Ministry of Silly Walks. That's the Outsider's field.

The t-shirts have been ordered. There will be 25 shirts; 5 small, 20 medium, and 5 large.

Thank you all very much for your comments and suggestions regarding the logo. I am very pleased with the way the logo came out as well as surprised considering I did not expect my logo to be the final choice. I guess when you have the only entry your chances of getting picked are high.

More hype! More hype!

In case you have not read any other other post, here is some important information regarding YEAH 2006 you should know.

The competition events will include (but are not limited to); Circle Competition, Sick 3 and Sick 1. We may also do Rippin Run. The number of competitions will depend on what we have to give away as prizes and how many players are interested in competing. I know that a few hand made bags have been donated. I may give away a t-shirt as part of a prize.

All competitions will be video recorded for judging purposed and for record keeping. I will be posting competition footage online at some date following the event. If you would prefer not to be included in online footage, please let me know and I will respect your decision. However, expect some resistance as I feel footage of any level of ability is valuable. No matter how bad you think you are, someone out there is dying to watch you play.

I would also like to offer up a new event, called TEN. In TEN, each player attempts to repeat a move 10 times in a row. Each player may choice their own move to repeat. You must successfully repeat the move 10 times to be considered for judging. Each player is given 5 attempts. Judging is based on the difficulty of the move and cleanliness of execution. Let me know what you guys think of this idea. I will only be disappointed if no one replies.
