precisely my thoughts. I didn't even doubt it was something else when I saw that trick. But indeed, a reverse swivel and a gyro symp. whirl are fairly close in terms of components (a gyro component just moves places within the trick components)

Its the far symposium version of what little Monhollo hits at 3:27

I'd call it what habitat did.

Tom, a swirl dex and a whirl dex (especialy symposium) are the same thing when done behind oneself.

Great vids all around, WOW!

Exactly. The difference is marginal at best. If you tried to execute far symposium swirling osis vs. ingyro symposium whirl I'm pretty sure you would find the execution with the greatest efficiency looking basically the same for each trick.

Has anyone been able to download #19 to their computers? That video is ridiculously fresh. I must have it.

Montreal vid was the shizz! :)

Music on the bro's video was so fitting of their "get the floor wet its so fluid" style.

Circle contest is so great. It makes me so pumped for footbag as well. Phil Morrisons shred was awesome, such a kickass style.

Sorry to go off topic, just wondering why Vasek did not compete in this event at worlds, etc, just wondering.

I was going to post something like, "Vasek competing in circle competition would be unfair for the rest of the competitors," but I thought about it more and would now like to say, "I wish Vasek would have competed in circle competition." My first thoughts on it were that Vasek would have completely wiped the stage clean with his incredible shred. But when I think of what players like Jorden, Felix, Honza, and Alex can do, I am not so sure. Vasek has come a long way from his first title win. His shred is great and his stage presence is better than ever. He really knows how to entertain a crowd. My final word is that I would really like it for Vasek to compete in circle competition.

Peace.

I told Derrick that I thought it was reverse reversival (assuming reversival is far symp twirl (which I'm not sure about)), but as soon as he told me it felt like a whirl dex I saw it, and it is. The difference is marginal, but so is something like those in-to-out double downs and whirr, or atomic and leggy atomic...they are still commonly differentiated...

I think derrick's symp swirling osis is phat, and I hope he does lots of variations on it.

I am going to start a new topic about it, but I'll just mention this here, you're all completely wrong. :P

In any twirl variant the dex happens then the rotation, the rotation in this trick is BEFORE the dex! also, the bag passes under the inside of the leg on the dex, that is whirl style. if the leg was flipped over and the bag passed the outside then you guys would be right... but it doesn't and you're wrong.

I will start a new thread.

Thanks for discussing it at least.

adding little smilies doesn't make that statement any less rude.

I do far rev symp swirling osis very much behind my back, it helps me get a big, clean, sweet dex.

furthermore, derrick is looking over his shoulder at the "swirl", not looking over his other shoulder at the "whirl", and there is significant scoopage in the catch.

If this was an ingyro symp whirl, he would have spun farther, and looked at the dex like it was a whirl, and not scooped the catch so much.

I feel that the two moves in question are very close, and that their execution is going to feel pretty similar, so I can see why there's some differing opinions.

It's a hard case to make, but what can I say, I found your post so obnoxious that I had to respond.

I just noticed something!

The bag used in the berlin video and the bag that crosses over derricks neck in my video are the same bag!

It's a Mosher, of course. :P

What was the music in Dat's Video ? And of course, that was one of my favorites. When the movie finished I had to check the time bar to make sure it was done...I wanted more !
