Tonight was the first time in a while I played till I almost threw up. It was comming up my throat and I coughed it down. I'm just that hardcore.

I was eating an apple pie while reading this David! LOL it's all good though! We got to kick together b/c I've played three hour to 5 hour sessions and never throw up. Ofcourse I most definitly don't go as fast as you do.

I just graduated saturday so I thought I had time check out this executioner-style blog-bombing that Yacob was shouting 'bout.
Your blog is pretty sweet. Props on getting into guitar. That creamery is pretty rad too (my sister and brother in law are in grad school there right now- first married couple to ever have a free-ride simultaneously in PSU history).

I got into guitar around the same time I got into footbag, and they are pretty dang similiar. Mostly muscle memory. You'll be ace in no time. Good things to think about are positioning of your thumb, especially when barring, and then simply working on barrs in general.

Any open chord at all, such as D, A, C, G, F, and all of their various minors, can easilly turned into barr chords. I can't remmember if I am spelling barr correctly or not.

So, if your strings are:

E
B
G
D
A
E

and you want to play an open (without a barr) E, in tablature it will look like this (more or less)

and if you wanted to shift it up the neck to a F, well F is one half step up form E, so it would look like this:

Sorry for the hijack. Thanks for all of the advice you have given me the few times we've kicked. It's amazing that with these few remaining brain cells my game is still improving.

My gut instinct is that guitar will be even easier for you, because you have such a great technical capacity and you compete to music that I mostly approve of.

EDIT: so my point is, as soon as you figure out the open chords, you can then figure out the barrs for each (C and G are the hardest to hold but they won't be a problem for some on who can string fearlessly in socks.) This is a very easy way of approaching the neck with regard to fishing out more than all of the triads that you will ever need for rhythm. It is also a good way of conjealing where about the root notes are, especially related to one another. I am a hack at the guitar, but this is how I get my way around the neck. Hopefully some maestros will step up and raise the ante.

To Develope musical emotion pick one note and jam out on it. Experiment with all the different ways you can play the same note over and over again. Then Try it with two notes... Now, back to one..

Funny, I yo-yoed yesterday for my 7 year old cousin and she loved it.

Well, I just got back from a 10 hour car trip home from NC. I leave for Chicago in less than 12 hours. Man, this break has been a spinning ps whirl so far. I want to go to Chicago but I wish I had a chance to gather my wits. I'm doing wash and stuff, getting money, and then basically going to bed so I have some energy for tommorow.

Christmas was good. It was weird not being in Bethlehem for it but it was chill. I got an ipod nano which is pretty cool. Use it for shred and such probably. Some cool clothes too.

Nothing else is really new. I'm just really tired and really worn out.

Chicago here I come.

It was actually blazing.

I'm back from NYJ and I'm sick as hell. I slept 16 hours today. My stomach hurts and I have a headache and I'm just really trashed. My body aches.

I wish I had the energy to recap the event. It was great. Thank you to everyone who made it aweszome. I had my doubts at first but they were quickly stiffled. Thank you to anyone who bought my bags. I sold out on like day 1.

My state mentally is almost as bad as my physical one. I just feel really lackluster and bored with my life.

I feel like I'm at the place where I'm either going to get crazy about footbag or quit. I just don't know how I feel about the whole thing.

This might be my last post for a while until I feel better and straighten things out.

hey dave, it was awesome to meet you and finally see you shred in person. i understand part of how you feel. im pretty sick and im so scatter-brained and out of it that i have no idea when things will feel better. but just so you know, you totally motivated me into trying harder.

ps. i was too shy to buy a bag from you the first day... and too late to buy one from you when i finally got the nerve to ask. so if you stitch an extra one sometime (haha... extra) then id love to get it. stupid nerves.
