Black Noir has treated me well. It's just a bit stiffer compared to Colonial Red, imho, and definitely not as thick as people usually claim.

I'll agree with this! I have it on a bag that I'm stitching at the moment and it feels just like Colonial Red.

Got my new bag from Holly today. Its awesome. Ive been playing with since I opened the envelope. Besides being top quality, its sexy too. Most def. worth the money.

I really like Holly bags and here's why:

They shred great right when you get them. But they're not like some bags that get too floppy within a few weeks. I really like the stiffness of her bags. Not too stiff or too floppy. Mine is facile and despite not having that much filler it seems to stay really round when I'm setting it. Her stitching is really uniform. And the gather is just right so that it loosens up slightly but not too much. I like the weight of her bags at 53g. And at the price of only $25 dollars they are a steal. They are one of the best bags for the money.

ok i took my time to give a fair feedback, i shredded with it about 3 months. unlike the others i must say i didnt really like it because it didnt break in. i tried a lot, hand massaging, kicking, washing... but the stiching is simply stiffer than on other bags. it is an early holly (18$) so i guess you have improved and i read a lot of people like your bags. a pro is the weight: 60g. please dont take this as an attack, i just want to give you an honest feedback.

i understand your frustration with the break in... this is why my newer bags are lower gather than before. although i dont belive my bags are as highly gathered as some... aka abshire. i dont think a bag isnt good because of not breaking in quickly. i think my bags wouldnt be good if stitches were showing, if a knot busted, or if there are misshapen panels... not because it doesnt break in quickly.

high gather doesnt mean they arent high quality.

alright loyal hollybag owners and owners-to-be... this is embarrassing but i feel the need to let you know what i do in a situation of a bag malfunction.

as some of you know i sent this bag to jim penske:

he emailed me a couple days ago to let me know that it had busted open after hours of continuous shredding. what i do in a situation like this is ask the owner to mail me the bag back, as much intact as possible. this is what jim has done. once i receive the bag i try to figure out exactly what went wrong... in this case a knot had come undone.

in this case all i had to do is stitch it back together:

those pics above are a good example of what my footbags look like after break in. i sent jim an email letting him know what the problem was and that ill be mailing him the bag on monday.
(im also sending him a new one at the end of the week...)

please, if anything like this happens to your hollybag, dont be afraid to let me know so i can fix the situation. jim is the first one to bust one of my bags open (i wonder why

)

Ok, here are my thoughts on the Holly bag I recieved from their Valentines Raffle:
I love my Holly bag! It was most definitely shreddable right out of the bag. Stitching is very well done. You can almost feel the love and care that went into it radiating out from every panel!

I managed to hit Ducking Mirage my second try with it too.

Holly knows what she's doing, no doubt about it. Buy from her!

And Brian's is pretty much the same deal too.
