Frist off awesome competition! I can't wait to enter in next quarter.

My predictions:

Sick1:
David Clavens - High Plains Difter Swirl *
Jeremy O'Wheel - Bat Boat

Sick 3:
Phil Morrison - Venom > Food Processor > Mullet
Richard Abshire - Locomotion > Barroque > SpanishFly *

N Sick 1:
Ron Smith - Smear *

N Sick 3:
Zeb Jackson - Ripwalk > Reverse Whirl > Ducking Osis *
Zack Miley - Smear > Pixie Whirl > Osis

on Sick 1 it's a toss up for me between David and Jeremy

* Astick are the people I'm leaning more toward winning.

We had to change the entry requirements for Open sick1 a little this quarter. Some of the 5adds that were deemed 'easy' such as Mobius and Pheonix were moved down to the Novice category because of an overflow of Open entrys and a deficit of Novice entrys. I hope this doesn't disapoint too many people, it has been done for ease of judging.

If your entry has been put in the novice category it certainly doesn't make you a novice, and if you have been put in open you are not nessisarily of open level - just the move or combo you hit is estimated to be of that level.

If anybody is wondering why there is a relatively easy 4add (ducking reverse whirl) in open sick1, that is my fault - the email entry didn't contain the name of the move in the video and at a glance I assumed it was tomahawk, I only realised it was ducking reverse whirl after I had finished and rendered all the videos. Unfortuantly I haven't had a spare 2 hours of rendering time to fix the error so i've just let it slide - Sorry if this annoys anybody.

Apart from that, I hope you all enjoy the competitions :).

Here's how I have Novice Sick 1 (these are in no way shape or form official):

1. Conrad - Pigbeater - Freaking god damn. Novice is hard this time around.
2. Pete Bowler - Mobius - Very nice
3. Jeremy - Vortex - Like I said, novice is hard this time around.
4. Julien - Pdx. Torque - The osis was pulled quite a bit, but still beats mine.
5. Zac - Phoenix - Pixie might have been a little thin.
6. Roy - Pixie Eclipse - Very original, I liked this one the most out of all of them, but it just wasn't as difficult.
7. Cody - Spinning Butterfly - Nicely executed, camera is crappy.
8. Ben - Ripwalk - Looked good.
9. Ron - Smear - Also looked good.
10. Mathieu - DOD - Awesome, looked fairly clean.
11. Erik - Toe Ducking Butterfly - I think this came in like, 5th last time. They've gotten harder. :)
12. Sam - Outside set Mirage - Uhhh, sick. I can't do that.
13. Matt - PLO - Very little pixie set, it was almost like a toe ss dlo.
14. Colin - Near Pickup - First try, bitches! :P

Novice Sick 3:

1. Zeb - Ripwalk>Rev Whirl>Ducking Osis - Excellent use of both sides. :)
2. Brian Dennis - Fairy Legover>Eggbeater>Paradon - Very nice
3. Zac - Smear>Pixie Whirl>Osis - God damned Dyno wouldn't cooperate.
4. Ben Rea - Dimwalk>Diving Clipper>Rev Whirl - Dive was thin.
5. Cody Carter - Blurry Legover>Mirage>Double Legover - Your camera is still crappy
6. Roy Newman - Double Legover>Double Legover>Double Legover - No creativity, boo.
7. Erik Savage - Symple Butter>SS Butter>Bubba - Nice.
8. Luis Lipchak - Butterfly>Osis>Pdx Mirage - Drill that like there's no tomorrow!
9. Sebastian Bazan - Pixie Legover>Butterfly>Pdx Mirage - Goooood.
10. Matt Hennemuth - Pixie>Mirage>Butter - Nice. :)
11. Denton Louis - SS Mirage>Legover>ATW - I think you need to get some better lighting, you're on your way though, man!

Competition was very tough this time around. Congratulations to everyone.

I wish.

Props to Clavens though, on a truly hardcore move. I don't think that's an invention, but it's way more worthy than my trick.

I found the movement of what is open and what is intermediate very strange. I don't know, it just seemed to me that there weren't very many really impressive sick 1s like in other comps. Maybe it's time to split the comp into three divisions - novice, intermediate, open. I dunno, I'm drunk and it's past 5 am.

Great Comps. Great vids. Christmas has been great on modified this year. I'll watch the vids a few more times before I can really decide who I thought won each comp. Thanks Nic. I'm sure everyone has been looking forward to this as much as I have and, IMO, it was well worth waiting for.

Good to see Jeremy and Richie in the comps. :D

I personally think that ducking rev whirl is harder than tomahawk.

well that explains that, I thought the pigbeater was a bit much for novice. Wasn't that three dexs? I can do three dexs with my hand HA HA. BTW before yall get me wrong...the pigbeater was a great trick nicly done, I just think it shoulda been in open. Then I woulda had 12th place ha ha ha.

Big thanks to everyone who entered and a HUGE thanks to Nic for putting it all together. Just in time for the last day of Chanukah and a nice early Xmas present for all y'all gentiles.

I think the Mobius and maybe the PDX torque and Phoenix got the short end of the stick being put in Novice sick 1, but whatever, I understand things needed to balance out.

Some pretty HARD 4 adds were hit in Novice sick 1, Pigbeater (pixie eggbeater) and Vortex (gyro drifter)??? Wow. Props to those guys.

I wish I had done a sick 3 :(

Happy Holidays everyone!

Funny how the competitors from the southern hemispheric are all shredding outside and us Europeans all tucked in shredding in the living room in front of the radiator. The blistering cold freezes my brains and makes me forget it's summer down there.

I just watched all the open entries and I've come to the conclusion I'm soooo fucked  . Okay, I didn't have much ambition neither for sick1 or 3 (a place in the middle ranges?) but I'll definitely have to do better next time. Some people really stood out.

Props Nic (both on the editing and your entries)!

i couldnt agree any less with my entry (mobius) being dropped into novice, especially seeing as i think it was more difficult and better executed than some of the 'open' entries. for chrissakes i could have sent in a clean shooting butter i had on video instead, but i thought the mobius would be more well recieved. why couldnt things be uneven again? and who the hell deems mobius easy?

Edit: to be clear, that is the most warped judging results for sick 1 I have ever seen. We must have been watching different videos. Discounting my own move, I am fairly confident that a clean atomic grifter would be considered by most people as just a little harder than pixie symp whirl, fairy ss eggbeater, atomic weaving butterfly and vertigo, as well as probably gangsta party. I know that I've hit every trick in the sick 1 apart from Atomic Grifter, Flurricane and high plains swifter. Aaron Orton must also feel a little hard done by, as probably does Johnny Murphy.

Incidentally, so that people stop pming me or asking me on messenger, "bat boat" is a sailing butterfly, except instead of catching the bag on the clipper, you push your clipper foot into the support foot and catch the bag between your shin and your calf.
