Abshire A910?

So whats the deal with the Abshire A910s? Haven't been following footbag for too long of a time and now starting to play again, noticed the A910 on blurryworld.

its a great bag for medium to advanced shredders. I have a 32 panel abshire bag and its sick. But it takes awhile to break in. you can order them from freedomfootbags.. theres a few threads on this i think on modified already.

Yeah I've done a search and I haven't found any posts that explain how they differ from regular Abshire bags (besides they're for intermediate - advanced shredders).

Welcome back Chris.

They use 9/10 sided shapes instead of the traditional 5/6. I don't know how this adds to playability. I had one A910 and it never really turned into anything great.

I'll be around a bit more and I'm sure I'll be talking to you. Oh yeah, remember at Worlds '04 how in mine, Cole, Tom, Ryan and Colins room you tried to teach me to juggle and I couldn't grasp the concept? Well... I taught myself in about two days a couple of months after Montreal, hehe.

Oh the memories.

Again, thanks... definately an interesting concept. Would like to see a picture of one of these A910s.

The bags are on freedom with pics. Anyway, abshire sells a mini or a regular size 32 panel, and you can buy them broken in or not. He makes mediums but i believe you would have to buy one of those from him personally.

Every bag abshire stitches is an A910, those bags on freedom are a910s. Thats just the name for his bags I think. Its not some new type of abshire or anything. Good ol bags. Same abshire you have. Same one I got.

Unless sometime in the past the model name was different? But I dont think so.
And for the record, I use one, they are savage.

yup. there's abshire regular... and then there's abshire A910s. I preffered the abshire regular that I played with with. It belonged to Taishi. Blue and green Abshire mini. Floated like a butterfly. only light bag that I ever fell in love with. Made for crazy amounts of dexing time.

The only A910 I've ever played with was FAR from being broken in, so saying that I hated it doesn't really mean anything...

Footbags are fun. Don't stress over which one to get. Just pick the right one.

My first abshire, and the first 32 I bought, was an a910 standard (circa 2003, when Richard was filling his bags with steel shot, 35 grams was the norm, and the a910 model was "medium" size). I think the colors are Maroon and Petit Pois. I still have it intact, expanded to more than a 1/4 it's original size, with patching tape all over it.

I remember breaking in that bag and doing so many things to abuse it, just to make it choice. And within a month and a half, it was very playable. But when patching tape didn't make it into the scene until more than a year ago, my abshire was crusty and had some holes I didn't want expanding, so it was officially retired. Now, After a good wash and patch work, it's one of the best bags in my collection. The only problem is the fact that the color scheme is dark and I wear black G-units, therefore I can't spot the bag very well when playing.

I don't know what to say about a truly broken in abshire. The abshire I just described was stitched tightly when I received it, and after breaking it in... damn. Heaven in the palm of your hands.

Richie has many sizes of bags...the Standard, Mini, A910 Standard, and A910 Mini. You can pick loose stitching, tight, and the size of your bag, and filler. Who else offers this many options and upgrades? All of the bags I have gotten from Richie have been wonderful. I can't say enough about them...some are harder to break in, and some are pretty soft from the get go. It all depends on which colors you pick, for some colors are thicker than others, and that makes a big difference. I just picked up two more A910 Minis that weigh in at 55 grams each. I own more Richie Bags than anyone on the planet...that is for sure. You have to try a broken in Richie bag before you say anything positive or negative about them IMHO.

I have to give Richie a BIG CONGRATS on winning the OPEN BIG THREE recently. How many 30 plus year olds do you know of who can shred as hard on a daily basis as he can, and does? I can't think of any.

I'm 35 and I shred on average 1.5 hours a day, mostly guitless & tripless with some fearless. Pete is my age and can still totally tear it up, but I don't know how much he plays on a regular basis. I've admired Abshire since before I even met him well over decade ago. I'd heard of his game years before I ever met him and it wasn't online

And don't forget Scott Davidson, Kenny Shults, Greg Nelson, Rippin,
these guys are all nearly 40. I can't speak for how much each of them shreds daily though.

I am not forgetting about the guys you listed below...and for the record, Kenny showed me how to tie my shoes in 1992 at Worlds, so I respect each and every one of the guys you listed...but do they shred over 220 days a year? Richie does. Do they shred as hard as Richie does at this present time...not even close IMHO. I think Rippin retired..but I am not sure, and he is one of my favoite players, that is for sure. I am going to be 39 this year...I don't play much any longer, but I hope to get back into it this year. I talked with Richie today, and he told me he shredded over 220+ days last year...that is amazing IMHO. Richie keeps a Shred journal...and that keeps him on track. I am not trying to knock anyone....just pointing out my respect for Richie as a Footbagger...a Stitcher, and as a good friend of mine for over 15 years now. Without the Old School Shredders, the sport of Footbagging would not be where it is right now, so BIG PROPS to ya'll, and ya know who ya are.... Ciao, Michael

I really should start keeping Journal. I don't know how many days I kicked last year but I'm sure it's over 300, and many of those had 2 sessions. Someday I will get better

Hey Michael, I'm sure richie doesnt need you to brag for him . He would probably be a bit embarrassed if he saw these posts, and he might considering the topic is about his bags. lol

Oh, and on topic, yeah the A910 is just 9/10 sided shapes. He is only doing this because Flying clipper sued him or something for using the soccer ball pattern. The 9/10 covers him on lawsuits.

Richie was never sued by Flying Clipper...he just changed his pattern so he would not be taken to court...thus he has hiw own pattern, which stands on it's own. Some other Footbag makers were sued, and thus from what I remember Richie changed his pattern to prevent that from happening to him. I mean how can you TM a pattern for a Soccer Ball design??? What a bunch of A$$HOLES if you ask me. Richie does not get embarrassed that easily, but he does get pissed off, lol... I am Irish, and I have a short fuse also, lol... Shred on, Michael
