i have had good luck with pale ales. I find the to be crisp and tasty, but not with so much personality that they turn off a less experienced beer drinker. I recommend Saranac or some comparably priced pale.

Mike, I'd like to offer the use of my PA for this event. It is small, portable, it can take a beating, and best of all, I own it, so no worries about damaging something not owned by a player. It will definitely be suitable to play music and make announcements in a mid-sized gym.

Let me know if you'd like to take me up on it. If not, that's cool too. Just thought I'd put that on the table.

I believe I will be able to take care of the coaching, as usual.

i myself do not like your crisp tasting pale's, matt. although, i am satisfied with any beer pretty much, so if pale ale is last resort, i'm going to drink it.

How much will the T-shirts cost though? This'll be my first footbag event that I've ever attended and I want a little piece of it to remember if you know what I mean.

Beer as of right now will be Saranac Pale Ale. You all have until tomorrow morning to suggest something different. I have strong confidence in Matt Cross' taste in beer so his vote carries a lot of weight. It is going to take at least five of you to persuade me to purchase a different flavor. Yes, I said flavor.

In regards to beer cost, I will accept any and all donations to the beer fund of $5.00. If you only plan on having a sip or two, take it from someone else, preferrably a serious drinker who plans on getting their monies worth. Otherwise, donate, drink, and commence to jigglin.

T-shirts will be $10.00 each. White logo, black shirt. I have 5 small, 15 medium, and 5 large. You WILL want one.

Matt, thank you for the offer of your equipment however, it will not be needed. I have sound equipment that is on loan from my brother.

Competitions are going to be run as professionally as possible. In an effort to have players mentally and physically prepared to strut their stuff, sign-up for competitions will begin promptly at 3:00 PM, Sunday, December 31, 2006. This is the last day of the year you have to compete - don't miss it. If you have never competed before, please do so at YEAH 2006. It is a lot of fun and very, very exciting. Remember, you are surrounded by friends and we all support what you are doing - footbag that is.

As a reminder, competitions will include circle competition, sick 3, and sick 1, and possibly TEN (described in an earlier post). There will be sign-up sheets for these events. If you do no sign your name on a sign-up sheet, then you are not registered for an event. Please be sure to sign-up yourself.

Just wanted to say I will be there, and it looks like I'll actually be playing. Ankle feels good, but I will definitely be taking it easy. Not sure when i'll be there saturday, but should be there all day sunday.

Also just wanted to mention I have lots of room, but I live 20-30 minutes from the event.

I got in huge trouble with the folks today and have been in good n deep. Real nice waking up to the prospect of "We'll talk later about when you can go to Geneseo, if you can at all." Faaantastic. But I've worked my ass off all day trying to be all good and chore-doing and they're in better spirits. So it's a much better possibility that I can still come. But either way I'll give you a call, Chris. I'll be showing up right on time now

since I'll be fixing the hole in my basement probably all night tonight and probably for the better part of the noonish hours tomorrow. Ugh.

As a side note, <when> I come, I played yesterday with Greg P. and I'm still in good pre-jam shape so I'll come ready to rock!

Pale ales are as light as I go. I'm a stout, dark ale drinker meself but I can deal with all.

I highly recommend the adirondack lager over the lager.

and frankly, I highly recommend the pale over both of them... but that's just me.

those two lagers taste like nice beer trying to be cheap beer to me.

If the saranac season's best is available in kegs, I think that could be a smooth, tasty nut brown that would be a good compromise. it's not as bitey as the pale, but still flavorful (VERY flavorful, actually) without being overwhelming.

Just my thoughts.

I'd also be willing to buy a 30 rack of keystone for will and pat if they really want something easy to drink.

Thanks a ton for doing all this Mike. It seems like it was a lot of work.

I'm happy with any of those choices. I'd actually root for anything new or unique, so if any interesting saranac flavors are available I would go for that. My preference otherwise is adirondack>pale>traditional. I won't drink keystone ice, but the gas station is just around the corner so if we need more for bouncy table we can get it anytime. Oh yeah, there will be other partygoers at my house for new year, and house rules will apply. They're as simple as possible.

Paul just picked me up from the chicago trip. he doesnt care which beer you get, just as long as it's not dark. NYJ was huge by the way.

Just to remind you guys, bring your own blanket and stuff. And call me before you arrive so I can make sure I am around to meet you. Again, the times we have the gym are:
saturday 7-10 pm
sunday noon-10
monday noon-5

There's also some space to kick at the house, enough for maybe a 3 person circle.

And Tom gave me 2 cuddlebags as prizes when I saw him yesterday! I now have two 32's from Roy Bradish, two cuddlebags, and a bag from Waylon should arrive tomorrow.

Well, I can definitely say that I had the time of my life last night jamming with you guys. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. I hit lots of new stuff as well. Unfortunately though, I think I left my wallet there last night when buying a t-shirt from Mike.

If anyone finds it I'll be forever grateful.

It's a black leather wallet with my student I.D. in it and a little under $200. It also has a bunch of cards and such in it. I called Chris a little while ago and he said he'd look for me but just in case anyone else found it, I just wanted to get the word out. My best guess is that I left it in the parking lot.

Thanks a bunch.

**Update: Well, I got home yesterday around 10 PM and to my surprise, the Geneseo Police Dept. had left a message saying they had found it! So they're going to mail it to me. Lucky for me everything was in it that was supposed to be. Great ending for a great trip.

YEAH!!! A great sucess

I had a kickass time, and mike and chris and everyone who organized the tourney did a great job. Awesome crash/party space, good food, good shirts, good venue, good people.... and most of all good times.
