Tuesday 26th December
Length: 2 hours
Drilled: BOPs, Nuke, Shuffle.
Such an awesome session
Blizzard > Omelette > Legbeater rpt
So happy with that! It was just on today.
I drilled a whole bunch of stuff and had some really good runs, but the best highlights were from drilling nuke
Then I thought, "Hmm, nuke is going well. What if I try pdx predator?" and then I thought "Well, I might as well try my dream move, 69" So I did, and footed it first try
Nuclear Drifter!!
Anyway... then I thought I'd try pdx reactor. Second try! Then again about 5 tries later... and again about another 5 tries later
The other thing I'd tried the night before was twinspinning mirage after seeing it on comps. So I tried that again and it wasn't too hard, still took me a while to hit but I got it
Had a few goes at ducking pdx grifter too, that'll happen sometime.
Yeah, I was referring to how Dan had a significant more time on camera than you did, no worries though.james_dean wrote:Hi Matt, glad you could drop by.
I don't shred for you, I shred for me.
Have a nice day, Jamieson.
edit:sorry man, I thought you were bitching about my string length or something. Yeah, apparantly I only make cameo appearances there, but that's OK.

Sunday 31st December
Length: 1 hour 30 mins
I guess you could call it a farewell 2006 shred? Dan Boyle cam up to Bendigo which was nice, footbaggers are the best.
Dan was playing well, had some great strings and hit 2 5's in the one string (pheonix and darkwalk) which I think is a first for him. He was also pimping the symp rev swirls and came super close to his first 3 dex, pixie ss DLO. He'll get this in tassie I reckon.
I played extremely well
My strings were rockin'. Had a few 20-30 contacts with lots of shuffle, blurry whirls bs, ducking pdx whirl midstring once... as well as some other ducking/spinning stuff which was good. Real happy with how I played. I heart footbag. also hit 69 again, tombstone b2b real easy, and a string with blurry drifter and tombstone both bsos
New move: Spinning symp Rev Swirl. Woo! Style points++
Shredding this arvo too although it looks like it's about to pour. I could always just clean out the kitchen and play there.
tonight I'm trying: Toe drifter > Sumo rpt
Atomic Drifter > Gyro Mirage rpt
Twinspinning Drifter (Nuclear Gyro Drifter)

Yeah, thanks again for coming up, it was great
I had an awesome new years. Best I've ever had, being with my mates instead of stuck at the beach. Two of my mates got into fights
But other than that it was awesome. Also met a really cool girl, one of my friends good friends, so I'm gonna get her number off them
I'm on a roll this last few weeks!
Monday January 1st 2007!
Length: 1 hour
Drilled: BOPs, Whirl, Ducking, Shuffle.
Spent half the session working on bops. My new years resolution of shredding more disciplined is working already
Was consistently getting BOP strings of 20-40 so I'm pretty happy with the improvement there. Got 61 once, which was alright. Current goal: consistently 50+ contacts.
Whirl just the usual. I need to drill this hard sometime, it's so unco. I'm not happy in the least with it.
Ducking Pdx Mirage bsos, plus a few strings with a lot of ducking tricks in them. Didn't work on this for long though. Also tried ducking pdx grifter a bit more, got close a couple of times.
Shuffle: blizzard > omellette > legbeater rpt again
[borat voice] I like! [/borat voice]
Finishing a bag tonight, and hoping to stitch one more before heading to tassie on friday. I get my license back friday. Hell yeah.

Tuesday 2nd January
Length: 1 hour
Drilled: BOPs, Whirl, Shuffle.
Didn't do so much on BOPs tonight, just some drills pretty much. did beat my infinity record though, 106
Worked on whirl/pdx whirl a bit, not really drilling just stringing a lot. I'm doing my pdx whirls a lot higher and earlier and that's helping a lot. Also getting blurry whirls midstring bs a lot more.
Tombstone and blurry drifter bsos in the one run again. Want to get blurry whirl and stepping whirl in there too
Started working on blizzard > omelette > reactor rpt (Rubberman with all downtime dexes reversed) Managed to get reactor > blizzard > omelette a few times, footed the second reactor twice. Tough one. Will get it in the near future though.
Last, but definately not least.
Pogo ss Symp Whirl.
edit: oh I forgot. osis > tombstone bs

Wednesday 3rd January
Length: 1 hour
Drilled: Shuffle, BOPs, Whirl.
BOPs weren't too bad tonight. No major improvement. Was consistently getting 15-40 contacts, got 80 contacts at one point which I was happy with. If I can get regular bop strings that high I'll be very happy
Whirl, improved a little I guess. Worked pdx whirl a bit. figured out one of the reasons straight whirl is hard for me is I set it too low. Did I mention I hate whirl? Yet I also love it, so I must make it work properly
blizzard > omellete > legbeater rpt again
<3> blurry whirl > pdx mirage rpt yesterday, cool! And whirling swirl for the second time sunday. did you know stepping from drifter is hard? well, it is.

I really like that rubberman variant (bliz-om-leg rpt). It always kinda bugged me that "blubberman" was with blurs and not blizzards. Also wanted to post in here: props on atomic grifter. That trick is deceptively hard. I think I've only seen Jorden hit that. My atomics and grifters aren't bad, but that trick is just impossible for me. Also big props on 69. Kinda linking those two thoughts together: how about nuclear grifter? Now THAT would be some phat shit.
Good stuff J.T.

J.T.?
Thanks for that. Yeah, downtime grifters = really hard. Personally I think I should have done better in the comps
I've thought of nuke grifter but my strong nuke and strong grifter don't line up for that so I'd have to work my flip nuke a bit. which I need to do anyway.
thanks for the tipoff matt, let me write that again, only this time, properly.
toe drifter > Blurry whirl > pdx mirage rpt. hence the stepping from drifter being hard comment. My hardest stepping move after drifter? Probably tombstone b2b.

I'm so bored.
I met this awesome girl new years, cassie. I spent most of the night working my social patterns to be near her, and we spent a lot of time talking. I remember towards the end of the night sitting outside with my arm around her saying it'd been great getting to know her better - I'd met her once before. And she said the same thing. But. I was pretty boozy by that stage and couldn't tell whether it was "oh yeah, been great getting to know you too... HELP ME" or not. Hope not. Got her number off a mate - meant to get it off her on the night but rides home got mixed up and it didn't happen. Called her tonight but she didn't answer. Might try again.
I thought I was getting my license back tomorrow but I called up to double check today, and I'm mistaken. I don't get it back till the day AFTER tomorrow. This normally wouldn't be a major deal, I've done 12 months, I can do one more unexpected day. But I had to drive to the airport to fly to aussie nationals tomorrow night. crap. It's an hour and a half away, my bro aint going to be happy about driving me, and I'm not happy not driving myself. I was really looking forward to it. It's unbelievable that the single most inconvenient thing about not having my license this year, occured on the VERY LAST DAY it's suspended. Fuck you Murphy, and fuck you police. So I changed my flight to saturday morning
Shouldn't really effect my shred time, but will effect hang out time. Oh well, you do what you can. cost me ninety smackers too, ouch that hurts. It's true what they say though, when you have loads of money, you don't really care.
I can't wait to drive down to that airport, it's going to be the best feeling in the world, even better than the first time I got my license. I'm scared I'll lose it again, I can't make a single mistake or it's gone. God, help me be good. And help me be lucky, cause no one drives a year without breaking a single road rule in any way. I need you now.
I'm still bored. I'm gonna call Cassie, hope she answers this time.
