Seeking footbaggers - Hacky Sackers

We are looking for guys that can demonstrate the sport of footbagging at exhibitions, in toy and department stores, on tv and dvd and just be a general hack star. Most stuff would be solo hacking. If you are good at soccer/football keepy ups then you may also be suitable.

We are London based and would prefer someone close by if not in London itself.

We dont need anyone really full time so if you are good and can spare some time every now and then thats perfect. If you want full time work then thats available as well to the right candidate.

If you are not sure if you are the right person but are also interested please also drop us a line.

I can't think of anyone in London off the top of my head, but who knows who lives where from day to day in crazy old Europe? Might even be worth relocating if you're able to negotiate some full time work.

I gave them a ring and unfortunately i was in there too late.. Some guys are already going to do it for them. He said he might get in touch with me if They need more people, but at the moment my chances are looking slim.

I'm currently in UK (Huddersfield) as an exchange student and travelling around as much as possible at the same time. I'll contact them today.

okay, now that something's firmed up, I'll spill the beans...

I can't tell you all how excited I am about this.

I saw this post by Colin, and, noting that they said they are interested in a full time person, I sent them a cover letter with my qualifications, experiences, and video clips. They wrote back, saying "this all looks great, you should come by the office tomorrow and we'll talk". I said, "I won't be able to make that because I'm still in New York State. I wanted to explore the possibility of the full time job this summer", to which they responded, "oooooooh really?".

Turns out that the largest, most important toy fair in North America is happening in a month in New York City. They have hired me for 4 days (for a considerable fee

) to represent their product at the fair. We're going to see how that goes, and then discuss London...

HUGE!!!!

I am SO fucking excited. I can't wait.

WELL DONE MATT!

I think that taking a responsible proffessionnal approach as you did is the best way of actually getting paid to footbag. I also think a large number of corporations are willing to sponsor players for such events. Again: props

That's awesome Matt. Have a great time at the Toy Show and knock em dead. Good luck landing the summer full time gig in England, hopefully that's still a possibility.

do you know what kind of product you will be using? meaning is it a bag youll be able to do sick stuff with or just a kicker?

I'm pretty sure Matt will be able to do sick stuff with almost bag. By sick stuff, I mean things that will mind the mind of the average person who doesn't know much about the sport.

I can do ducking clipper with my cell phone, ducking clipper impresses people. The "object" Matt will be using should be somewhat round. I think he'll do great.

Good job Matt, on taking the initiative and getting this set up!

Ive played with one of this companies footbags before, i hated it, but im sure it will be fine for demonstrating a bit of skill.

Could you expand on that? What was it made out of? What was it filled with? ect.

If im correct, its called a wacky/wicked sack, or something like that.

The one I played with, definately wasn't suade, it was sort of like plasticy nylon sorta material.

It is filled very full, so it isn't very stallable, The bag was rock hard. I didnt get a chance to see what the filler was.

It was just something a friend had when I told him about footbag.

I really hope that they've improved their footbags since then, so you can give some good demos.
