 flip vortex!

Had to crank my ankle less then usual to set correctly for this, kind of weird.

I need to try this method on other moves such has flip stepping, maybe my clipper form is bad.. I don't know.

fairy is coming very easy, hit some fairy stuff midstring, out of any moves I do ending in toe is possible. Just not constant, but easy at least! Needs practice.

So I had a small solo sess tonight. Decided to go fully tiltless. I think my basics are way too bad and I need to revamp them for my guiltless game to explode. I have a good variety but my consistency is so bad.

I did not even try to do a 5 add today, only some easy 4's. I left my best in the closet and decided to work on the small moves. After working a lot of 2's I tried some 3 variation that I had trouble with, such has flip gyro legover, and it was way more easy then before.

To make myself more motivated to hit some basic 2's I decided to adopt the following formula.
for example for mirage:
5 or more guiltless > mirage x10 > 5 or more guiltless > mirage x10 > 5 or more guiltless

After doing this drill on any move, I was way more exausted then if I did a 25 contact guiltless string with easy moves such has ducks, spins and buterflys.. Guess that means some of my toe game has some huge problems!

Another thing Seb told me yesterday and I could confirm after watching me on videos, I tend to stall the bag for too long. It can give a smooth style, but I'd love to not only be smooth and be explosive sometimes... All I did today for this was trying do my clipper delays and set faster, I have no idea how it looks like so far, but I'll have to see to this as well.

-- On another note, I'm pretty disapointed of the feedback the Montreal video got on the calendar. Only one reply, and I tought it was pretty good, I usualy don't have any expectations when I make videos, but I had some in this one.

The montreal vid was sick! I watched it with 3 other shredders and we were all very pleased. :D Ianek is insane, I hadn't seen much/any footage of him before.

Well such a boring christmas time.

Nowhere to shred, stuck at home, all my friends are with their families.

Can't really "shred" at home since it will make noise and piss off the people living downstairs.

So I decided to school toe set ducking which is really bad for me. After 30 mins of toe ducking toe, I moved to pixie ducking, and big difference.

I've ducked them before, strong side over a year ago, flipside I can do right now sometimes..
I hit pixie ducking clip bs barefoot :)
Oh yeah, toe set ducking and pixie ducking barefoot is harder for me... so I'm really happy.

Tom, you asked for it, you got it!:

Had a good time at Chicago, hit some stuff I'm proud of.
I hit a clean spinning zulu le loup, it was confirmed by two players. I only hit this move in solo sessions before so could'nt tell.
blink>symp whirling inside
and came close to pheonix>spin whirl many times..

For Montreal as of now, nowhere to shred, played a bit outside yesterday, was kind of cold, worked on some stuff..

pixie ducking.. strong pixie is still hard to duck, I can do it about 1/5 .. kind of bad
flip pixie I can duck it 3 out of 4, getting good

I can pixie duck midstring both sides, but then again, strong pixie is hard to duck..

Revised how to place foot for clippers, flip step seems possible now.. I'll check this out tomorrow in an indoor session. The sets where crooked but at least they were consistant...

I hit alpine parkwalk on one side, never tried that (with a dive)

some flip dlo work, also seems more easy, I should put more efforts to it to get it constant.

Other then that, I had an incredible lack of energy and could'nt link anything.

Had a good sess tonight,
Played with Jean-Martin for the first time in 4 months or so, he was playin really well even if some weird habbits took place in is toes.

I hit a lot of stuff I'm happy about, but I can't remember much of it. I remember finishing a 20 contact run with a PS whirl. Also added a nice move to one of my favorite combos which is now : muted pixie clip>gyro legover>ss symp whirl

I hit backside smear really easy, that was new, used to hit that like a rake and badly.
Started runs with assassin, pheonix or any pixie ducking move really easyli on one side. Had some pixie ducking midstring too. But my right toe is still not constant enough for pixie ducking, I'll keep working on that at home.

Had another awesome session tonight a lot of stuff. but I'll make a short list of highlights
ps whirl after about 20 contacts, sealed with 5-6 more tricks
phoenix>gyro dlo
phoenix>spinning whirl
gyro legover>ss symp whirl midstring

my ps whirls and toe set symp whirls are getting better

did some work on flip dlo and flip whirl, was'nt so bad.

the first 2 hours I was shuffling pixie moves really well, even some fairy in there, the best was magelan>smear>plo>rpt>dimwalk>run

almost had phoenix bsos again, but the second one landed on the far side of my neck (pixie neck stall) :(

thanks for the comment David. I didn't really hang with you at kickass and I had fun realising who you are outside of footbag (briefly).

note to self: flip pixie ducking is hard because I stall the bag like a moron, bad toe stall form, bad support leg movement. When I did both well the pixie ducking was easy, but this happens rarely. doing a legover instead of a toe stall seems to correct the problem sometimes.. I need to foxus on that toe to make it right.

phoenix>spin whirl again, but... first try this time :)

So I went to shred for a second day, and 3 days ago I was skiing.

Ski and footbag don't mix well for me, I play like total shit after. But I rather do both activities at the cost of sucking at one.

Solo sess tonight, I think I got a lot of frustrations out of my system. Needed that kind of sess to unleash the beast within me :D

Hit some stuff anyways, but not much considering I played close to 3 hours. I brought my camera being all pumped up about making a good video of my shred, but ended up playing so bad!
all my ducks where the, my spins where all frogy, I was dropping everything.

Anyways, here's a 1 minute vid with some highlgihts.
Features a flip fairy (downtime) and a flip step (slur), but hey! got to start somewhere..
http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/10864

I think I will have many solo sessions for a while, so I will probably film myself more, school some stuff, especially new concepts, flipside concepts.
