BERLIN : German Ghetto FOOTBAG Championship

Yoooii, that shit was so ghetto, grimy and loc'd out and funwise
easily one of the top tournaments in my top tournament list :D !!!

Thanks to all the footstars and affiliates who made this wonderful event possible - the logistic magical triangle of sleepspot - party - food was
working soo perfectly and made the distance to the event site shrink
to hobbit size .

I havent had that much fun on a single weekend in a long time -
thanks to Berlin Crew, Grisha, the infamous Dortmunders and
my main nigga Beatrix Hunter who did a great job being awesome :D :D :D

Now i'm recovering , trying to fight off the evil of post-tourney depression -
if i'm done with that, i might come up with an account less fuzzy !

peace

Yeah, that partyfoodsleep triangle sounds like a good idea (Grundlichkeit rocks!) and the tourney seemed like a blast. Makes me a trifle whiny I didn't make it due to college shit.

Xmas is over . I'm part sad, part glad, but thats how i feel most of the time
after something very nice has passed me .

Three days of food and other relaxation techniques, no shred, needless to say .
After the zest for hacky has found its way back into my system,
taking a week off feels kinda weird.

Today i had a session with Max after a shitty day at footlocker.
It was ok, but we were both a little tired/un-inspired - kinda the opposite
to the last one we had.

Anyways, dexless was good, i used stepping instead of atomic, there were
some whirls midrun and a few decent combos.

magellan>ss dlo>rpt

ducking clipper>blur>butter>stepping leg>plo>smear>d.mir>run

smear>atom>rpt first try

merkon>butter>rpt

Jooooooooooooooooooi .

On friday, Bea and me had a big session, the clipper over kill warm up
put aside, it was a real shred session with a lot of runs and newish links :D

Its fun to integrate more tricks and concepts by and by and also trying to
hit those midstring . Inspired by Zeke i made a list of common/uncommon
moves from my repertoire and now its really hard to find excuses for
always busting way too similar runs :P !

This time i did a lot of stepping out of ducking clippers, switched pick ups
for legovers, paradons, rip>blur and some other fours ...

Bea was improving her ducking skills and had some promising attempts
at paradon, then she hit this new trick ( just means, i havent seen it ) :
beta dimwalk ? anyway, it looked veyy koool .

DRILLS :

diving clip>ducking clip ( from both sides ) rpt a lot !#

butter>merkon rpt

dimwalk>pdx mir rpt

blur>atom>legbeater bs a lot

rip>blur bs a lot

smear>paradon bs - even more :)

COMBOS :

tapping pick up>tapping pick up>smear>run

quantum pick up>plo>tapping pick up> run with rip, blur

smear>tap>butterfly>pdx mir>smear>tap>atomsmasher>d.mir>butter>
d.clip>d.clip>kick

atomic muted clipper>spinning clipper

atomic leg>paradon

Todays session was kinda rough - i was kinda overpartied and queezy,
i had to fight off a ninja like flu plus i had a hard time saving myself from
drowning in that whiskeysweat i was felixin around

But somehow i managed to shred a bit, and some of that was filmed.
Bea seemed a bit sulky, or maby she didnt play up to her full potential
out of sympathy . Max was hot though, he had good runs all over and him
and me had a good old chat too. This guy needs more variety in his shred -
especially more fives and a bit more downtime and dexless.
His shuffle kicks ass, no question, and his presense is motivating and
much apreciated.

Random things i liked about todays shred :

>some tricky toe links

>good double dexes (smear>plo>paradon>pdx mir>smear>paradon ect )

>8 plos

>sailling :D

i felt so weird throughout - feverish, low energy, yet light and happy,
so i had a few good runs, but the were all kinda short and repetitive
in retrospect.

wednesday will be epic.

What about black Asmus ? Cant i be that one - at least on thursdays ?
We gotta sort this out - please visit Munich, now that you are on holiday,
and if thats too much to ask, my secretary will call at your office to
schedule a meeting in Vienna in summer :D

Yo - some rapper from anticon advised me never to star a rap with yo,
but lets just pretend he doesnt read this - this shred was so fantastic
that it deserves a two fucking yos even.

On the way to the spot i thought it would be kool to start every trick
from clipper for the first quater at least.
I tried that and loved clippers long time . Apart from that i didnt really
drill at all, i merely worked on a couple of my standart repeat combos,
but that was about it. The rest of the time it was all about runs and
some nutty combos. So much for outlines.

Impressions :

I was light on my feet and i could go long. Again i remembered to try
to give every run a different structure .

Not long ago i also was able to go guiltless, but it was hard work and exhausting,
like i had to physically fight for the next trick .
It feels so much better when you can actually decide what you wanna
do - and i'm not referring to backflipping nemesis but to my own abillities .
I could combo at will or just go with the flow and let things happen.

And thats when playing footbag is a lot of fun :D :D :D
This was my best session so far and i used almost everything in stock .

butter>ripwalk>pdx mirage>butter>butter>ripwalk>pdx mir>butter>
ducking clipper>blur>some more

toe blur>toe blur

pdx mir>dlo>run

blur>atom>paradon first try ever

merkon>butter>merkon>smear>run

spinning pdx mirage>paradon :D

flip slapping legover - i thought i'll
never hit this, but i did into runs and stuff :D :D :D :D

pixie tap>bop run twice

-------------------------------

fuck details .
it was a complete new world hitting infinities, whirls, shmoes, spinning clippers and paradons mid string like they were toe trix

pick up variations rule.

blur>atom bs is getting there . so is tap>legbeater.

need to skool tripwalk and drifter.

and sailling .

wow, what a post - living up to my blog title i guess .

Wow props on all that shit! Toe blur back to back is haaaard! Not to mention the other stuff.

Given the fact that you can repeat atom smasher, have you ever thought about rubberman?

-------------
Yo yo muthafucka (nah, I'm too much of a caucasian to have any street credibility  ) do you remember you asked me for some "o-word" challenges? Here we go:

-osis x 10
-diving osis back to back (this one is cool)
-ducking osis>ducking clipper> repeat
-spinning osis BSOS, once you've done that the same trick back to back (is hard!)
-stepping far osis>ripwalk> repeat (dito)

How's that for ya?

Thanx Wim :D the first dirty"o" challenge is waaay harder then the one
i gave to my self, which is hitting tripledex>triple dex or 5>5 before
i turn 30 ! But i will try - cause at the end of the road, there are so many possibilities once one owns osis !

And never worry bout your street cred, bro - you's a playa !

Results from friday :

smear>butter>pdx mirage x4

butter>blur x 4

merkon>dlo>run ; merkon bsos; paradon bsos

atomsmasher>ss smear bs ; blur>dlo bs ; blur>paradon

ss smear>quantum legover>dlo>plo>smear>run

atom>ds mirage>dimwalk

tap>atom>tap>atom>10 guiltless

pixie tap>smear>d.mirage>yadda yadda :D

dso>datw :D :D :D

17 guiltless - still waiting to break that darned 20 mark !

Random Thoughts :

I like the way guiltless begins working for me and that there arent too
many bops involved ( 4 various reasons !)

An efficient stepping set is a must - like Max i want to be able to step
out of everything, especially out of legbeater and flip butter

Beatrix is getting back into shape .

I want to learn drifter and swirl and i want to use more dexless midstring.

Shit, is it me or are your sesh accomplishments getting more and more intimidating FAST?
cause at the end of the road, there are so many possibilities once one owns osis !
werd!

In fact I was thinking. If osis x 10 is too daunting, maybe you could try same side butterfly>osis>pdx mirage (repeat for at least 13 hours) or butterfly>butterfly>osis>pdx mirage. But chances are you might not like these as you said

No no no, i like all of your osis related suggestions are perfect for
my (clipper game) improvement, especially the bop ones.

I just said i dont use bops that much, because i find genuine shred more
appealing .
But of course one has to master these for various reasons,
the two important ones are that esp. butterfly is an element of so many
bigger moves, plus there are all kinds of endurance/balance/control
benefits that come from good bops.

----------------------------------------------

I have an annoying headache right now, but other than that i'm quite
happy with todays' shred . Instead of going for long runs or tricky combos,
i concentrated on skooling certain key elements/links and a couple of single tricks .

Ripwalk>blur and stepping in general got a little more attention, and
i also did what i neeeed to do, if i ever want good -walks :
i skooled infinities :P .

Another element of todays training were dlos ( toe, clip, ss, pdx, pixie )
and that went great :D !

other single trix that i've worked on :

ripwalk, sidewalk, blur, shmoe, smog, pdx tap, toe blur

RESULTS :

flip paradox tap - wow that was easy :D

dso>butter>pdx mirage>d mirage>plo>dso>smear>run

blur>atomsmasher>ss butter>blur>atom>run

ripwalk>blur>(smear) bs a lot

run with dp mirage and ds mirage

dlo>ss dlo>dlo>ss dlo>butter>dlo :P

Lets work out some whirl/dlo trading scheme - that would be so win win :P

CLIPPER SESSION pt 1

Thats right :D and i will do so many more of these, at least everytime
i shred solo . Originally pushing my clipper game was only half of my intention
of finally having a session where every move starts and/or
ends in a xbody inside stall . The other half was plain energy saving for
the big thursday shred .

I started with a drill that i picked up from Fletch's blog : clip>op clip>
ss clip>op clip>ss clip, with adding an extra ss clip each round.
I love that drill :) ; then butter>op clip>op clip rpt to get ready for
a time when i shall hit more than 9 infinities

Gyro clippers were up next, then i skooled diving/ducking/spining clippers,
some zulu and spinning mirages and all kinds of combinations
of these - my unique dexless record is a solid 5 now, and 12 d.clipper as
for consecutives .

ducking clipper>gyro clipper
( x2) bs

diving clip>ducking clip>rpt>spinning clip>ducking clip bs

spinning clip>d.clip x 3 bs

zulu pdx mirage>butterfly bs

ducking clipper>spinning pdx mirage>butterfly
both sides -
almost fucking bsos - the mostly footed combo award goes str8 to that one

yeah
:D
