I think he meant FFA as "Finnish Footbag Association"... Can't wait until you guys get it in though! I'm about as excited as I could possibly be!

BOTS IS NOW IN STOCK!
I got them today (technically yesterday, since it's 2:40 am) just before I was about to leave for the post office which was about to close... Anyone who preorderd will have their copies shipped today (Thursday).
This DVD really rocks. I think it would be cool to try and get it shown at the local independent film theater, as it is appropriate for even non-footbag audiences (at least I hope).
Anyhow, you can get your NTSC (North American Format, not European Format) version of this DVD here:

Got my copy yesterday. I already saw this in Portland, but it was great to see it again. I appreciated a lot more of the little things I didn't notice the first time (when I was sitting on the floor trying to dodge Penske spilling beer everywhere) - like one of my favorite scenes is (spoiler) probably when Juho drops PS Whirl, so Raty gives him a mean look and throws the bag back at him. He hits whirlwind first try and passes it. No cuts
thanks D; thanks Shotti Prod. ~ peace.

If I remember right, Juho actually hit the move (whirlwind) on first take but he wasn't happy with it and we took maybe 10 takes more until he was satisfied with his performance..
EDIT: Website back online

Got my copy a couple days ago
LOVE IT. It's such a cool blend of my favorite sport with my favorite movie genre, film noir. The extras were great, presentation and production value were superb as well, especially for an indy flick. Awesome job guys, I guess the only thing you left out was a cast and characters within the DVD itself, but you can find that stuff on the site. Thanks Mikko, Juho, Felix, Ville, everyone, you guys are like the footbag ratpack now!

Hahaha I remember that night, I was there too. I was so tired by the time they played it I think I passed out on the couch and missed most of it.sb wrote:I already saw this in Portland, but it was great to see it again. Got my copy the other day. Thanks Daryl. Loved it. My girlfriend thought it was hilarious to see a bunch of guys talking in Finnish and doing underground hackey-sack. I thought the role they gave to Felix was cool. The cinematography of the shred in this movie is f**king incredible. Everyone should buy a copy and support this awesome project.
We finally watched BOTS the other day at Mike's house -- WOW it's so good!! When I have enough money to pay rent and buy food I will definately buy a copy!! WOW! My girlfriend is excited to see it too -- she loved the trailer.
So well done, Jere!!
I can't wait for your next project! WOW!
Hey, is the injury part of the story based on true events? Are you injured?

Great that you guys like the movie. Our next project won't be about footbag, but in 2008 it might be possible to return in that genre. This summer we are testing new HD hardware with some kind of a short film. If the next footbag project ever sees daylight it won't be as 'fictional' as BOTS, more like a drama or something
Erik, I injured my back about two years ago and the old injury comes and goes. I haven't played in six months at all so it might be gone for good this time.

The shred was high quality, I am amazed as to how clear the picture is, and how fluent the slow motions are. There was only one part in the english subtitles that sorta made me say "That doesn't sound right", something along the lines of"Time to stop chewing the fat"..
The only thing I found a little weird, was that there were a few loose ends, like, something in the story line would start, and just never resolve. At least it was an excuse to see more high class shred!

What is gone for good? Your injury? Or your playing? I hope it's the former.jerkki wrote:Erik, I injured my back about two years ago and the old injury comes and goes. I haven't played in six months at all so it might be gone for good this time.

In English, this phrase is a saying that means 'we should stop standing around talking about things, and just go and do them', or something to that effect. I guess it has to do with cows chewing cud, standing round in a field all day.I cant vouch for its usage in this film though, as i am yet to see it...jay7 wrote:"Time to stop chewing the fat"..

You're dead on with that definition and it's usage in the film.

I got my copy in the mail yesterday, and I have to say I'm very very impressed.
I saw BOTs last semester before it was released, and I wrote a review of the movie itself. But as anybody who buys a DVD knows, a good DVD is much more than just the movie itself.
So while I gave the movie itself a good review, I have to say that the total package of the finished product is even better.
The menus are beautiful, there are multiple subtitle tracks, there's an option to watch the shred from the movie (without seeing people nodding, or watching storyline), there's a blooper reel, and there's a nice long section of shred that wasn't used in the movie, but is still incredibly good.
The only letdown for me in terms of DVD features, is that the director commentary track doesn't have English subtitles. But if you understand Finnish, that's yet another bonus for the DVD.
I highly recommend people buy this DVD. Even if you are skeptical of a footbag movie, it's worth it for the shred and visual quality alone. Personally, I enjoyed the movie too. But taken as a whole package, this DVD is really great. Considering how rarely people make quality footbag DVDs anymore, you'd be a fool not to get this.
