Oh, and I was messing around with a FAT shirt design at work yesterday. I'd like your feedback to know if this is going in the right direction, and that you might all wear it to big sessions this summer. The image is based on a girls shirt, but it comes in mens styles too. Be honest and dont spare my feelings. I'd like everyone to be reasonably happy with the design.

1 question....WHY CAMO? lol but the design looks sweet. I really like the back, that would be useful becuase people would read your shirt before they talk to you...

EDIT: OH...I didn't know that history fact about the camo.makes me glad I'm a brantford boy then

I made it camo because Camille told me that the people who started FAT- most of whom are now inactive in the footbag scene- always wore camo clothing. Camouflage was like their unofficial uniform. I'm just trying to carry on the tradition.

Mike, I like the camo idea. I'll have to talk to the rest of FAT to make sure.

I don't like the logo. I should have told you that sooner, but I don't like it. It's too blocky. Maybe if it was more chubby looking it would be better... I don't know. I also really like the original one that I designed. I think we all like the CN tower A thing. It just needs tweaking. And Paul Toews (who started FAT) and I worked on different variations of the design a long time ago. Maybe the three of us can work together on one that we're all happy with. And then the shirts can get made.

I really like the back idea though. Maybe you can throw in: THIS IS NOT HACKY SACK above it.

I'm not unhappy with your logo, Camille. I would suggest tweaking it slightly- thicken it up a touch just to give it more weight. And I'm not 100% satisfied with any of the ones I designed anyway. A good logo should be readable at 1cm x 1cm and mine aren't.

Does the blue work for everybody? Maybe red would be more hard-core.

As for the back, I'm not against a little hacky bashing. What about "Hacky sack is for dirty hippies"?

Whatever it says, it should be short and concise.

I know I'm not really FAT, but I feel like giving feedback:

I'm not a big fan of the camoflauge, though I like the history behind it too.
I think a FAT tshirt would be so rockin! I would wear it with pride back in Winnipeg!

I really like the blue, but I don't think that it goes well with the camo. I'm not sure if I would wear a camo shirt -- maybe. I like the back design LOTS! I don't know if more words would be good though because it would become too overwhelming for someone to read. I think it's good to have either just "ask me about footbag" (the "freestyle" may not be necessary and not having it may make it easier to read?), or "it's not hacky sack"; though I feel more stongly about the ask me about footbag -- great idea! I also love the little pictures!

I agree about the logo... I like the blocky concept, but it feels off to me. I also really dig the original FAT CN Tower logo, but agree that it needs tweaking. I'm going to play with that just for fun now.

Umm, maybe the CN Tower logo could be, like, in a little circle on the right breast, and maybe there could also be, like, another purely textual "FAT" across the chest? I dunno.

Hey all!

Hope the weekend was great for everyone. I was back in Alliston visiting family, but I did have a TINY session with my brother Sunday morning just to keep up with you. Joel (Lackey90 on here, though he never posts) hit his first DLO. Wicked.

Ok. So the T-shirt.

Though I agree that homage to FAT days gone by is in order, I feel that the club has a new face and a different style now. I would vote for a camo armbadge or something as a shoutout. Changing it up, though, means we have to agree on new official FAT colours. Interesting! There's black and white in my head, but whatever, it's probably not a favourite, heh.
As for the logo, an updated CN Tower deal would be perfect, either the whole front or the chestbadge thing.

The back is great. I probably would take out the "freestyle" though, as Erik mentioned.

Another idea would be to make up a dictionary-style definition of footbag, you know, with the phonetic markers and stuff.

Defining it though, opens a whole other can of worms.

well maybe it should be urban camo instead considering where you guys are anyway...

it sounds like you guys might need two FAT shirts, one for the old school freestyle players and the peeps that want to represent them, and one for the new school, fresh blood guys who are keeping the scene alive and moving in T.O.
that would would give a nice variation to what people would have to see/read when you're shredding in public. IMO.

That would be cool, Adam. I'm all for putting together multiple FAT shirts- in time (or other people could make some too). Obviously everyone has their own ideas about what they'd like to see, and one shirt may just not satisfy us all. Imagine if we settled on a standard template, but we all got to pick what it said on the back of our shirt! We COULD do that, but it would be expensive...

Anyway I still like "Ask me about freestyle footbag" the best. It promotes conversation from curious passers-by, it states clearly what it is we do, and it's short enough to read quickly. I also like the word 'freestyle' because people understand it instantly, even if they dont get footbag. It would be nice if a tshirt could cure people's ignorance about our sport and make 'hacky sack' a long forgotten term- but it won't happen.

I like camo, though it is not easy to find a colour that fits well with it. Maybe we should choose new club colours as Josh suggested.

We would probably be looking at about $15-20 per shirt. The print place I use wont do orders less than 6, so personalizing our shirts wont happen. Unless me wade a 2 or 3 batches of 6 with different backs...

What's up dudes!
2 things: 1. I am totally coming home for reading week, and if you all are up for further inflating my already massive ego, I think we should have another of those 10-15 person sessions in my honour! Ok, it totally doesn't have to be in my honour, if it could just happen, that would be good. I'm home from the 17th to the 26th of february (sat. to mon.), and yeah! Huge session! You know you all love it so much! I sure as heck do!

2. Just to get all in on this FAT shirt happening, I felt I had to toss in my own two cents (who doesn't love to give their opinion?). I'm afraid I have to take the side of the anti-camouflagians, purely for the effect a crew of matching camouflaged shirts may have on the outside world. I know, I snicker myself to think that anyone could find us intimidating, but you never know...

That's pretty much it, except for I met two really cool (not to mention talented) shredders in town, Sergey and Cole, and have been getting together with them to play twice a week. It's awesome. They know camille, cause they were at worlds in montreal. Anyway. See y'all soon.
