Stefan's Blog
Stefan,
That's right, a far legover. Anytime you do a legover with the same leg you clipper stalled from, that's what it is, no matter if it's from Osis or not. Anyway, props!
I was hoping to meet you on Monday with Skippy, Peng and Tom. I'm sure I'll meet you soon, but still man, it's too bad you weren't there.
Work on your parents to let you come to KICKASS!!!!!

Today was the firts day in a couple weeks that I got around to playing footbag. The past two weeks have been to hectic a busy to play footbag. Frankly after those long days sight seeing and goign to Wonderland with my cousins from Dartmouth, I wasnt up for moving my legs anymore than I absolutely had too. So this knee and hip pain I have now goes to show what happens after a while of be absent from shred and not stretching enough
.
Me and Dan had a solid hour and a half shred(it felt like a long time) and it was definately productive for me as far as hittting new tricks and adjusting old ones. I hit near pickup> near pickup for the first time and my pickups felt a lot easier today for some reason. My clipper form has got to be on of the biggest road blocks in my improvement so far. I've corrected my supporting foots posistion, and today I learned a trick to pointing my should towards the bag so that the clipper is infront of me rather than behind. I was told it was easier if you hit clipper with your op arm your doing the clipper with behind your back(ex: right footed clipper, left arm behind you back. left footed clipper, right arm behind your back.) is a lot easier because you body turn that way naturally. That made all my trick out of clipper a hell of a lot easier. I also tried pixie set and the problem I'm having is letting my foot get floppy which screws the set up completely.
I also got my pengbag today and I already washed it thurally a couple times. It's nowhere near shredable yet but it just needs to be kicked around and washed for a while then I will play beautifully for sure. Thanks again Peng.

PS: I hit a couple pixie sets barefoot after I came out of the shower

I'm doidn my best to come to some sort of comprimise with my parnest, I really hope I can make it out but nothings final yet.
I played footbag today for maybe 40min and I felt way off. I dont think I had a string longer than 5 contacts but I was playing with my new peng bag and its really rolly and it was rolling everywhere
. I'm trying to narrow down what the problem could be with my op clip. Its really wierd, I think I may be pushing my catching leg too close to my support leg. One thing that I really want to improve if I go to KICKASS is my consistancy. I wanna be hitting strings 8+, 9+ contacts, It may not be a realistic goal but I aiming for it. Hopefully me and Dan can play footbag tommorw, thats all. Peace.

Come out to SES4 in Toronto first, and show your parents you can make it back from a footbag gathering in one piece!

Its the last day of summer holidays and it appears that I didnt reach my goal of playing tiltless +15 contacts. Even though I'm not a +15 contacts player, yet I still feel that I reached beyond my goal and accomplished some things that I didnt even have as goals. I have corrected my form, got all 2adds bsos down(not including illusion
) and even starting hitting some 3add tricks. I would say a big factor in my improvement was shredding with Skippy a lot, he gave me lots of helpful pointers on how to hit many things that I struggled with before aswell as helping me correct my form. I dont think I would have improved if we didnt shred. Thanks.
Also, thanks for lacing mod Jorden its really working well.

I would be very surprised if there was any avid readers (besides yourselfWim wrote:So what have you been hittin'?
You owe all your avid readers a sequel!
Peace.
Dusty, dusty, dusty, dusty basement I have on my hands. I guess it wouldnt hurt to sweep down there once and a while, meh. I guess theres worse things in life than coming back from a drill session covered in dust. Some exciting new things today, hit smear in shoes more than once, infinity, osis> butterfly> rpt. I think thats it. Im still getting dizzy when I spin though, I think I almost got it down. Im gonna go shred with Dan now, Ill update this sucker later, Peace.

Had a very short session with Dan(Skippy) on Thurday. Basement didn't have enough lighting. Finally done exams. My flip clipper is consistant now, I got to work on control though. Hit magellan midstring, also hit ducking and diving today so those are the only hihglights. Hope Dan and I can shred sometime this week at the Community Center, my basement sucks.

Played a little bit of footbag today. I didn't hit anything new just stuff midstring like ducking, diving and pdx mirage bsos. Drilled clip>near pickup>rpt, I hit it x5. Tried some new things too, ducking osis bsos but I got to get the shit I already know dialed, thats priority at the moment.New vid from today. I gotta take a blood test tommorow morning, turns out I may be allergic to wheat, lame.

This is my first blog entry in a month and I feel it’s an appropriate time to update the events in my life surrounding footbag, well, mostly footbag. I really have not been motivated to post on modified lately, the drama that surrounds these forums sometimes turns me off of it. Don't get me wrong, its not that I dislike the contributions people make to the community by posting and what not, but I really have not had the time or the energy to make a post, merely me browsing the forums and watching videos.
I arrived back in Mississauga on Sunday after driving down to Myrtle Beach, SC for a vacation. The drive is lengthy but fun none the less. It was really nice to drive through the different states, it’s really something different if you have never been past New York its kind of exciting to meet people from different walks of life. My March break vacation this year will stick with me forever, it was amazing.
Footbag has been good to me lately, I'm not finding myself as frustrated as before. I’m staying confident and hitting new stuff. Been hitting and footing; paradox moves, ducking, diving, spinning, gyro, and whirls. I've developed a new attitude towards footbag and sessions are becoming less of a discouraging experience and more of an encouraging one. I should be enjoying my sessions to the fullest, not seeing them as work (quote from Jorden). I believe I have matured a lot after a year of playing footbag on and off, through the people in the sport and the sport itself. I'm not going to go throwing names out there of the people who have both inspired and assisted me a long the way in fear of leaving someone out. I thank everyone.
The weather is looking nice this week and I hope to get my ass outside for my first outdoor session of 2007. I'm also hoping to get some shreds with Dan going, I much prefer playing hacky with somebody else. I hope we can work around both of our schedules and set up some good weekly times.
Peace

This post is long overdue, its been over a month since I posted in this sucker. School is going good for the most part, im gonna be done in about a month so I'm really looking forward to that. Tom just arrived in Oakville this afternoon, so shred will be awsome over the course of his stay. Me and Skip wont be having 2 man sessions anymore. In the past month nothing new has happened with me and footbag. Been drilling basic 2 add stuff. Consistancy is shit and I still havent ordered ultrasuede.
Looking forward to tommorow.
