The bag I bought from you at Cornell is close to perfection right now. I still haven't touched that white and rainbow one so it's pretty much just as how it was when i got it. I'll snap a pic of it and send it to you or something.

Finished Brian's bag. Shipped it in today.

Working on Robert's bags. Starting out pretty cool, but I need further intel from him in terms of preference.

Bought a new ankle brace, with side stabilizers and fancy straps. I think my foot needs it. Can't shred with it on (can't even put my shoes on with this brace on my ankle). I'm using it for general walking around the house. Janis' advice has been working well so far, but it seems like there is a tendon on the back of my ankle still in pain. I may need to stretch it further to loosen it up.

I'm experimenting on a good mini template now. It should work well to my specifications. I'm also in the works of a special "abshire-y" template, but I doubt I'll be using it for sale. I might enter into some copyright infringement and whatever. So, I think I'll be using it for whenever there is a tournament that needs sponsorship.

College registration has my stomach churning this week. Almost sickening. I'm going to try to enroll in classes that suit my major and my interests.

Kicked with NYFA today. First actual session of the year. I was way out of shape, but I think today's session was a good progression. I felt very motivated to play (and learn, more importantly).

John Schneider gave me a lot of tips for osis. I keep turning for the bag way too early. He also gave me some tips for whirls.

A lot of people have told me in the past that I shred way too fast for good consistency on my strings. Footbag Resolution #1: Play patiently and more controlled.

For some reason, I tried to school quantums in one of my turns. I blanked out and just wanted to hit uptime miraging. No luck. Footbag Resolution #2: Get focused! Stick to tricks you can hit and school them first! I was doing a lot of pixies and atomics in today's session, but no flip. I didn't feel very confident in doing them with my ankle sprain.

I fucking hate flip mirage. It's the most annoying move that I must hit consistently. I'm not putting that out of my 'moves to school' list, but I just wanted to mention how much I hate doing it.

I think I should get a feel for playing with bigger windows. Everything I did with the bag felt very close to my body (to the point that my hips or ass would just bump the bag out of my field of contact). I think I should play in baggier shorts and concentrate on my windows from there. I want to do consistent stepping and spinning. I also want to work on my double downs as well, which I may need to open my windows (and sets) more.

I'm working on Robert's bags right now. I should get them down by this weekend. I'm planning on sending Peter Brocka a bag as well, for the freebie 32 he sent in along with mine. After that, I think I have a few orders outside of NYC, and then I'll be stitching bags for NYFA.

I registered for classes yesterday (and will drop the bill in sometime tomorrow), but my selection doesn't seem like anything serious imho. I really want to concentrate on my footbag game now. Seriously. No buts about it.

I looked at myself in the mirror, and my haircut makes me look like Bruce Lee in some way. I can't wait until summer comes so that my skin can get more tanned. If I work on my upper body, like Ales Zelinka, I can definitely look like the Jeet Kun Do master himself (except probably a few inches shorter). I don't know. I'm thinking about jogging 3-4 times a week with Nike Free 5.0s to get my legs built again. I just need the money to get the shoes.

I have the same problem with bag being too close sometimes as well. I've found that sometimes when I go into an osis on either side, I tend to stick my hips out in the direction of the bag, resulting in my ass hitting it when I turn into the delay. I don't know if this is what's going on for you but wanted to mention it just in case.

And flipside Mirages really are a fucking pain in the ass to school. :? Just think of how much better you'll feel when you finally do though.

Good luck! :D

I started stitching my bags with the Mosher stitching style that I learned at Kickass. At first, it was really frustrating for me to control and coordinate my needle placement, but I soon got the hang of it. His stitching method is actually really cool imo, and the effort to learn it is really paying off. I don't know if I should incorporate it into my bags and sell them, though, but whatever. I doubt it's too big of a deal, but I'm definitely not going to reveal it to the public. I'm under a binding contract.

Umm... Does anyone have any previous bag orders that I didn't fulfill yet? I remember I owe a 32 to Ted Fritsch from way back since Funtastiks '06, and I think Chris Dean wanted a bag from me (but never really specified anything), so that about covers it. Robert Wojci needs to reply to me via pm or e-mail about his order. I also need his address and $30 USD from him.

Eskimo Joe is sending me a bag for me to test. Sounds exciting, I think.

I've been stitching some 12 panels lately. They look pretty cool.

I'm going to mod my Nastase Milleniums sometime this week. I don't know if I'll use it as a serious shred shoe, but I would like to use these shoes to improve my toe game.

College classes began today. What did I do on the first day? Sketched out some bag patterns on P&P.

I doodled Johnny Suderman's "rainbow" bag, Pengpeng's "Maki" bag, variations of the Rasta bag, variations of other rainbow-y type bags, Chris Miller's tri-spiral bag (forgot the name of the design, but I remember Miller was one of the few that stitched this pattern often), Tri-claw, and a ton of 10/10 Blur bags.

I thought up a really cool design in a dream last night. This will definitely be a sponsor bag. It's a variation on a rainbow bag.

I have a new mini template. :) I just reused older templates and put two together. what I considered trashable before is now treasurable, to say the least.

I'm low on steel shot. :( I have a source for zinc plated steel shot, but I would like some steel shot where it is varied in size and proportion as well. Y'know, the type that isn't exactly bearing-like, but just scraps of steel with an assortment of the steel shot fused with one another and whatever. Is that type found in bullets used to hunt wild birds? I don't know. I may have to notify a few Steel distributors around my area about it.

Robert Wojci and Peter Brocka's bags are ready at the moment. I'm going to mail in the bag for Peter tomorrow. As for Robert's bags, I'm awaiting payment, so his order is pending. Now stitching a bag for Ted Fritsch and whatever that is my whim.

My birthday is going to be this Saturday. If you'll like to partake in the gift-giving, you can mail me a footbag, a t-shirt, or something related to footbag to this address:

30-11 39th Avenue
Long Island City, NY 11101

If you don't, that's fine by me as well. I usually don't get gifts on my birthday (nor do I feel it is necessary for me to receive any gifts), since I like to have a quiet evening with myself, family and friends than gorge on the luxuries of mystery boxes full of goodies. Drug money is always good, but I'm trying my best to completely curb my weed tendencies. Jokes.

But yeah, I'm spending my birthday first with the NYFA crew and shredding it up with them. I feel that I want (and should) concentrate much more effort in playing more and more. I was just way too casual last year, and the year before. I want my footbag career to skyrocket. I want to be boss like Ales Zelinka and put more attention on my body's health. I really want to put more effort in following my doctor's instructions in bettering my health. If I have to curb my weed addiction, this is the time.

Today, I only had one class at 4:10 in the afternoon. However, I felt very attentive today, and I only had what, two 'steel shot size 7' worth of weed in the morning. If I gradually take less and less, and focus much more of my ability into education and footbag (the former more than the latter in this case), I can get my life back into gear. I don't like to leave promises empty and unfulfilled. I want to make a change right now.

I still need to stitch up Ted Fritch's bag, but right now I'm making a keychain bag for my own personal use. I'm using my mini template for this, and I took out the keychain component from a stupid Dragonfly footbag (in which I refilled and patched up for a pretty dope casual hackybag, 55.5g). Afer Ted Fritsch's bag, I'm going to make a few birthday bags for some footbaggers in advance and mail them out ASAP. I feel that for my stupid tardiness during the last few months of '06, I'm going to do more and more to repay for lost time. I might stitch myself a 32 on my birthday, since the bag I've been using lately is starting to leak and retire. Of course, I'm really trying to be more academically active, so I think I'll be spending most of my time this weekend studying.

Footbag say whaaat. :)

Had a blast with my shred on Saturday. The first few steps to sobriety made me feel much sharper than I usually feel whenever I kick (duh) and it was really cool. I was doing a lot of spinning clippers, but I could only turn properly to my right. My left needs work, since I always feel sort of dizzy when turn left really fast. Atomics felt wonderful! Most of my sets looked really clean and hippy. I tried to work on stepping, but I got... 1 out of 5 attempts, I guess. Osis still feels like crap, but my guess is is that I was a bit impatient with it.

At the end of the session, when "The Final Countdown" by Europe was coming to an end (it's NYFA's official theme song, thanks to Drew Martin.), I tried pixie ducking. Barely any snag from my toe walls, but I really need to spot the bag better. I just fling it up and have no clue where it's going, so I'll just need to pixie a bunch more before working on pixie ducking. Plus, i think they were pretty ankle-y... Not a good sign.

I have to say, in these past two-three months, I was really paying a lot of attention to my diet. One of the problems I had was over eating, so I curbed my proportions just a bit and watched my snacking. My stomach is much more concave now, and I think my windows have grown just a bit from the decreased muscle mass. Still, this is only half-way to my goal in becoming fit. What I have now is a clean slate to go by.

A few months ago, my father asked me for some of my steel shot. He took about 2lbs. worth, I think, and filled it into two layers of an old sock. Basically, he uses it as an exercise tool, much like weight lifting. The routine is that you toss it into the air, chest height, and you try to catch it quickly as you thrust your palm straight at it. You do it consecutively until either the bag drops to the ground or you're tired. I have to say, my arms feel limp from doing that for the rest of my night on Saturday. It was invigorating. My dad also taught me how to exercise forearm and palm strength with a heavy iron bar, really cool. This is all basic training for Praying Mantis (Chow Style) that he learned a long time ago. I really want my upper body to be [partially] ripped, and I think this is a good course of action.

I managed to stitch one bag this whole weekend. I'll get my ass into gear this week, or I'll be tossed into a dumpster by a few NYFA members.

edit: I'm sick with the coughs and phlegm since Friday, and it sucks. :(

...

I think my worst fears have finally come true. I think the bags I sent to Tom Kotsatkos early in January have been lost in the mail. :? :( They were very hot bags. It really sucks that the package was lost or broken into by fuckin' hoodlums. I'm simply assuming on this matter, but having heard no word of Tom receiving my package is the most I can comprehend of this situation...

What affirmed my belief of this matter is that Peter Brocka just received my bag in the mail, and I sent it to him just last week.

Maybe if he checked for any records of my package at his local post office would it enlighten the possibility that it's reserved to be picked up, but for now I can only accept this incident as tragic. I don't know. I suppose I'll stitch him a few more bags and such, but the thought of those bags (3 32s in total) wasted makes me hesitant.

These are one of the many consequences of being a stitcher. (Sigh.)

In brighter news, I got a bag from Mark Telman. It's simply a really cool bag. I dig his glass bead filler and the bag size. What a cool mini bag, I thought to myself as I opened the small box housing this 32. It's #20 on his list of bags to sell/trade. I like it alot. I'm currently stitching him his bag to complete our trade. I hope no stupid assholes break into the package holding his 32, or hell will be paid in bad karma. I guess that's the best I can wish in terms of retribution, but in of itself it's just wasted anger on my part. Ugh.

I stitched one bag for the NYFA crew. College has me busting my balls over academic work, but it's nothing that I can't handle these days. NYFA will be busting my balls if I don't get at least another 32 in the works for them. Luckily, I'll have a lot of time reserved to stitch a 32 or two on Thursday and Friday, so I'm glad.

There's shred happening in Pennsylvania on February 17th. I'm conflicted, though. PSU? Temple? Or stay on the cold concrete streets of NYC? I could buy bus tickets within this week, but I would like to have some confidence in knowing where to travel to. If the kickers in both universities jammed together, this would make my decision less difficult. Oh well.

This weekend is a blast! Bevier and Schneider made a visit to NYFA, and we had a fun time kicking. It was a definite honor to play with Gordon on Saturday, since it was so unexpected. What a blast!

Jon had me schooling my osis. I think I'm getting better at it, since I'm schooling osis on the ankle that I sprained. I think I'm recovering pretty well. I have to get used to controlling the momentum of how my body turns, and that only happens from pure practice and enthusiasm. I enjoy the spinning, even when I get a little dizzy and whatever.

Bruce is busting my balls (figure of speech) on my short strings. Pretty good motivation, but sometimes that makes me miss Stan all the more. I hope he recovers from his ankle sprain.

Sunday night, I get an unexpected call. Matt Cross is in NYC! I can't believe it slipped my mind that he was visiting NYC this week! He called me up to have a beer and chill with him, and indeed I did. I know one of my resolutions was to quit drinking, but it's Matt Cross. You have to have a drink with him. I also traded a mini bag that I stitched for his Matt Cross 64 (no N64 puns here), which is super dope. I like the bag alot and the colors are super strong; qualities that I enjoy in a 32.

So yeah, we (myself, Matt, Bevier and his gf, Aidan) had a casual beer over dinner. Both Bevier and Matt will be showcasing their footbag skills for their respective spots under a Toy fair held here. Matt Cross will be representing Wicked Vision and Duncan for Bevier. Although, really, most of our conversation was just small talk, so that was really cool. Very chill. Came closing time we hung out some more at Gordon and Aidan's hotel room, which in fact had this HUGE pillar blocking most of the room. Me and Matt were trying to climb it, but we both miserably failed. It's too steep, and we left skid marks on it. Whatever, the room is a total jip, since it was over priced anyway. No one's complaining, though.

NYC sucks in that there are too many expensive locales around here. I totally want to move elsewhere. Can't wait to hang out with Matt some more. :o

Last night I had dinner with Matt and the two executives for the company that he's representing, Wicked Vision. They're really cool guys, mainly into boomerangs. It's really great to see that they want to expand their business into the kicky bags and such. Even if it's not as technical as the sport we all love (footbag), the ideal of making hacky sack much more informed into the general public is a super neat idea. I've seen how big the Fun Kix bag is; it's like wayyyy bigger than a baseball. Heavy too. Matt seems like he's playing really smart with the bag, so that's good.

I mean, I can't imagine myself freestyling with this bag. I'm just not that experienced in playing with bags this big. I have small feet, pretty much a half size smaller than David Clavens in G-units. It's all cool.

Tonight, I was busting my balls. My dealer partied a bit too much last night and was sleeping in at his apartment all day. Managed to get some good cush for Matt and myself. We totally got blazed at his hotel room, and had a chill time. Matt played his guitar, which I really enjoy whenever I hang out with him. Then we got loaded over some Jelly Belly and got some sushi later that night.

We headed toward St. Marks of NYC, which is close to 8th street by the N,R,W line. Matt wanted to go to "Go Sushi" but we couldn't find it. We ended up going to a place known as "The Sushi Lounge." The sushi was nice and affordable there. I didn't have that much of an appetite tonight, because the portions in NYC are always super big. I just had a dish of Sunomono, Edumame, two Spicy Tuna rolls from Matt, and a pint of good beer. A lot of good music at the sushi bar which we both thought would be perfect shred music. The place was somewhat empty, so it felt really chill.

Afterwards, we went to Yaffa Cafe, which was a discreet and exotic locale. It's one of those spots where you would like to bring your date into, but we were a bit blazed and tipsy that night, so we had ourselves a nice treat. I had a Chocolate Souffle and Expresso and Matt had a Banana Cheesecake and Mocha. Had a really good time.

Oh, and we spun the cube at Astor Place, which is a tradition when visiting that side of NYC. It's an old past-time that I really enjoy doing with friends whenever we stop by St. Marks. I'm glad to have spent that time with Matt, even if I hate this city because of the secluded atmosphere (in terms of footbag). Still, it's one of those places that I truly love about NYC.

So yeah, these past three days that I've spent with Matt Cross were pretty cool. It's a bit rare for me to welcome fellow footbaggers around NYC (before I did do a brief, one night welcome for a European shredder named Philipe last summer), so I was a bit nervous. In any case, i think it went pretty well. I wish Matt the best in his footbag career. He definitely deserves it.

My life............................

Well, I had a depressing day. I had to console this girl that I know that's going through bulimia. She was being pretty secretive the past month or so, and she admitted it to me honestly today. I don't know what to think. I want to be aware of her well-being, but I have had a couple of recovering bulimic friends, so I get the impression. I kind of understand the feeling, but I just have poor eating habits.

Anyway, I'm going to try my best for her. I was thinking about it just a bit tonight. She seems pretty determined about it, which gives me some concern since she has a small frame.

And yeah, I had to wait a long time for my dealer to come over so that I can get some grass for Matt. Better later than never.

Oh yeah, I had a good hacky session with a friend of mine in college. We played with MC#64, which was pretty cool. I was doing well playing in the cold, but I got the sniffles during an hour or more into our session. Plus, I had a pretty critical consolation with that bulimic girl just a few moments before it, so I was playing just to vent my anger a bit. Hit Flux on my weak ankle, so that felt pretty gratifying. I didn't do much else, and I don't really consider this session one of my usual 'positive' kick sessions, so whatever. Nothing much to describe.

I'm now rethinking about my trip to Pennsylvania. I just remembered that I need to go buy some texts for my "Asians in the U.S." Asian American studies course. That's like $50 down the drain. Plfft. Balls. If I can scrounge up some money and take a Chinatown bus, that would be sweet, but chances are low for this one. Maybe in March when the weather gets warmer; nothing like playing some good footbag in warmer weather.

That's about it. I'm really tired, and I need to do some homework for one of my classes. Night Blog.

Note to self:

Buy 'Jelly Belly' jelly beans. Yum!

I'm not going to Philly or Penn State this weekend. I'm going to save up for the next suggested dated sessions, if possible. Spring break is likely.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Post by Wasabi »

I feel pretty festive and happy this Sunday. That's how you act in Chinese New Year: getting drunk and happy with the family.

I finished Mark Telman's bag today. I hope he doesn't bust my balls for putting off our trade for so long. I've just been a bit busy with college these days. I really want to do well.

Flipside training was a bit hard on Saturday, but I felt gratified. My flip clipper is now much more useable! I think I regained my crank a lot more. Infinities and flip butter still feel kind of sucky, but I just need to train more on it. Just not this week, since I have a ton of assignments that I need to cover.

I'm going to trim the toe walls on my G-units. I've had a lot of problems with bag snag these days that it's starting to frustrate me whenever I try for deep pixies. I want to play for fun more; technicality will eventually catch up. Still, I don't know what to do exactly, since I think the issue I have is that the walls are a bit too high and not too deep into the toebox, y'know? It's a bit hard to explain, but if you have a pair of Lavers, you'll know what I mean.

I want to travel when I graduate after college. I'm starting to feel that I'm going to begin a new life if I continue my progress. This is a rough sketch, but here's my travel schedule if possible:
  • Rochester, NY
  • Toronto, Montreal, Kingston
  • Binghamton (please tell me there are hacky baggers near there!!!)
  • Arizona?
  • San Diego, CA
  • Idaho
The reason why I listed 'Idaho' last is that, well, I want to meet the 'Genzu Blades' himself in person. :P I did a lot of thinking, and I'm sure the lifestyle I'm considering WILL BE ROUGH, but I would like to work with Freedom Footbags the best I can, as a stitcher. I know I've been pretty slack with my stitching (as in not pulling in the #s of bags that most people present on modified), but I think my experience with stitching is gold these days. There's nothing more for me to learn about stitching and filler. I make plenty of hot bags and I'm very confident in my stitching and filler. The only lost is that NYC will be losing a very fine stitcher (not exactly a fine player :|) and I'll be departing from my East Coast footbagging bretheren.

I just feel that stitching is what I do best these days. I don't think I have any particular 'promising' skillset other than stitching. I have two good hands and feet, so I can think of something.

NYFA has treated me well for the past... 2 years? This club essentially got me started into footbag, and I've learned alot from Bruce, Stan, Josh, Jon, Benny, etc. The NJ and Rochester crew deserve a special note too, since I doubt I would have been so motivated about footbag without the likes of them. Matt Cross! And, Cleaver, Sunil and Bevier are all visually and mentally stunning. I'm so glad to have met so many great footbag players around the EC.

I guess another reason why I want to move to the midwest is that I can't stand the cold EC weather too much these days. It's torture for my poor circulation.

That's all I have in my mind right now.

It's 5:30 in the morning right now. Another start for my academic week. I'll be swamped with assignments and several exams, I think.

I see a lot of snow outside of my window. The sun hasn't come out yet, so the sky is kind of like a fusion of a pale, dark pink mixed with a touch of purple and brown (because of the lighting eminating around the city). Makes you want to have a drink with footbaggers or your significant other.

To tell you the truth, I hate this kind of weather. The point where the sky is so clouded that you barely recognize the sun ever showing itself in the daytime. It forces me to stay indoors, where I'm confined to contemplate a lot of things in my life. Nothing serious, but it gets annoying when it gets too personal.

No footbag this week. I hate it. Maybe in the weekend if I can squeeze in some time. My ankle has been feeling weird so far, so I can't tell how my condition would be by the end of this week. Motivated to stitch, but hard to fit time for it in my schedule for this week.

There was great weather yesterday, so I did a lot shredding. I played in jeans and a light sweater, because I was playing in front of my house and I don't want passerbys to give me the funny look. I did the usual training regimen that I planned on in past sessions: consecutive clippers bs, osis (left foot, but soon other), spinning clippers (right), consecutive toes. I didn't want to hit big that day, and I just wanted a crash course into basics, which I really need. Plus, with the jeans that I wear, it's hard to land a properly mirage or atomic, so I didn't school those.

I really want to learn osis and to spin properly, but the concrete in front of my house is really rough. Plus, since we had snow in the past week the ground is filled with all sorts of salt deposits and grit, so spinning and turning was much harder had those not been there. Whatever. I was happy to kick since you can't find a lot of warm days like these around February and March. Sucks.

Outside of footbag, I've had some musical inspiration. I want to go and play a shamisen and master it. If you're not aware about the shamisen, it's a traditional Japanese 3-string guitar-like instrument. A friend of mine introduced me to a group called "Shamisen Six" and I also found a pair known as the "Yoshida Brothers" who are freakin' hardcore. Seriously, go to Youtube and put in "Yoshida Brothers, Kodo." Badass. Maybe I can match Matt Cross and Nate Linscott with their guitar skills? lol. It would be a cool fusion with an electric guitar and drum set, though. I just feel so excited and I gave it a lot of thought, so I want to try my best in learning how to play. I need my hands to do things other than stitch and type in the future, so this is something worthwhile. :)

PS: Footbag has given me ass cramps. I remember when I had some chub on my ass cheeks. I'm skin and bones now.

PSS: My eyes have these dark bags under them. Too much chronic and not enough sleep.

PSSS: Pixies are down. Working on flip. Flip atomic is giving me trouble, but I think I can understand the rhythm with work. Flip mirages aren't giving much trouble anymore (though I miss the mark sometimes). Butterflies and double down bsos training might be in this week's agenda, along with osis. Josh Penney gave me great advice in allowing my triceps and elbows to distinguish the distance I should use for playing. I have to play much more patiently.

Oh, and stitching is on the agenda this week. I think I can squeeze in two 32s and more. Cutting/stitching panels at the moment.

Holy crap there's snow AND sun outside at the moment that I'm posting this message. Miracle, or bad omen? Whatever! Damn, what a sight to see! Only in NYC.

Stitching update:

Stitching bags for Ted Fritsch and Drew Martin. I'll get them completed by the weekend. Drew's bag is a mini 32, half & half with Tulip and Saffron. The one I'm making for Ted is a 10/10 Blur, Brownstone & Montauk with Spanish Gold. Spanish Gold is a great color, and I highly recommend it.

:!: IMPORTANT REMINDER :!:

Stitch bags for Todexon '08! Jan Struz e-mailed me about this like a month ago, and I think I can squeeze in plenty of time just to stitch 2-3 32s, maybe one 12, until April 7th. I might miss a couple occasions where I would reserve time for studying and whatever, but I have to get this done (for myself). I won't be taking any orders except for this, so that about covers it.

In terms of shredding, I've had this huge knot around my back for a couple of weeks, and it really hit me hard around Tuesday and Wednesday recently. I guess I'm slouching way too much whenever I stitch. This kind of reminds me of when I was talking to Felix Zenger on Footy Chat about this, so to me it's a bit funny for me to experience a lot of back problems now. Anyway, I'm trailing off, so here's what I've been working on, though not too much because of the knot in my back:

-Flip clip
-Flip butt
-Flip atom
-Flip pix
-Spinning and osis

I would like to learn quantum, but I guess I need to work on miraging dexes much more. I should work on mirages bsos whenever I have time before the weekend. Stepping is kind of weird as well, but I think I can handle it if I train more and more on it.

Sometimes, this makes me think back on what HooD was saying about inside and outside kicks, and how the learning curve for moves are associated with it. Well, whenever I sit down and whatever, I cross my legs. I can cross my legs up to my knee pits. I personally believe that I can do atomics pretty well whenever I shred on the mere speculation that I'm used to doing out-in movements with my legs due to this. So, I don't know if I should be more serious about working on my miraging dexes, and how I should manage my time in training in this manner. Anyway, I'm sure I can do something about this whenever Spring comes by and it's substantially warmer outside, so whatever.

Oh, and I'm going to Temple U. on the 17th. I might stay for the whole weekend there, since it would be kind of stupid to buy bus tickets just to go there for one day. Maybe there's a possibility in hitching a ride with Drew or the Outsider on the way down there, but that's for me to discuss with them this weekend (if they show). Whatever, I'm not too worried. If I stay for the whole weekdn, I just need a comfortable floor or couch to sleep in, and I'm good. Plus, I miss Pennsylvania a bit, and since I didn't do too much in Harrisburg last year, I would like to do a bunch of kicking at Philly next weekend. Stoked!

Doing homework at the moment.

Great weather in NYC lately. Tuesday and Wednesday were great: I had an awesome time playing footbag and hacky sack outside of college. On Tuesday, I wore a baggy pair of shorts, but managed to shred big in them. Atomics felt funny because I had to extend my window further in on the dexing leg since the shorts got in the way, but it was really nice. Today, I wore jeans and unmodded Nastase Milleniums (but had my shred shorts on) and I squeezed in some pixie and paradon game into some general kicking.

Lately, I've been hitting plenty of smears and dimwalks out of joy from the great weather, and there were several hit and miss paradons in the mix. Overall, I just went and hit basic moves just for general warm-up purposes on these two days. I'm just super glad that I got the hang of pixies on my strong side.

I'm concerned about my left foot, though. The ankle pains have gone away, but the Achilles tendon is really screwing around with me. I've been wearing an Ace Neoprene ankle brace, and it's been doing well for me. I could wear it over a sock and play, but I would experience a ton of pain from a substantial amount of impact. This might screw with my flip pixie development, since I usually point my toes downward and set hippy. Whatever, I don't know. I've been doing a lot of massages and exercises to stress the Achilles tendon much more so that my body can get used to it. I really hope it gets better.

I bought my bus tickets to go to Philly. Whoo! Getting drunk, maybe crunk, and doing a lot of footbag funk with the Temple crew! I can't wait, and it's the perfect time too. I only have one class on Thursday, and my professor canceled it just recently. Plenty of time to get packed. I wonder who I'm going to meet there? It would be great to see Jon Schneider and Chris Balch again.

A lot of girls have been checking me out lately. I think it's weird and cool at the same time. I lost a lot of weight during the winter, and it definitely increased my self confidence and overall morale toward others. I just don't know how girls would react to a guy prone to sweating a lot from playing kicky sack, though. Hmm. :o
