So Whats Your Story?

I thought it would be cool if people told the stories about how they came to be freestyle footbag enthusiasts.

Mines pretty simple. I wanted a good hackysack so I ended up at freedomfootbags preparing to buy a sandbag. On the main page there was a video of this dude named Chad so I watched it and initially had no idea what to think. It was kind of weird, but cool at the same time. He was really good and never dropped it despite the fact he was stalling all the time. And he kept tossing it around his neck!! wtf...

So I played with my sandbag a lot and bought lavers because my vans weren't cutting it. I found footbag.org and called someone in my city to kick with and he was up for it. I have learned a ton and kick everyday now. This very sweaty discovery was ~8 months ago.

Extremely bored at lunch hour, well, hour and fifteen minutes, and my soccer playing friend brought a hacky sack and proposed that we played to pass the time. I was always envious of the "druggies" at our school, who could keep the bag up forever, and my first goal was to beat any one of them in numbers, on command. Being one to spend alot of time on the Internet, I naturally looked for tips and others advice, and some canadian footbag site came up. I saw a net tournament in Vancouver, and thought it was amazing. Then I saw the pendulum, and some calf stall...Even MORE amazed. Immediately me and the friend who introduced me to hacky sack were talking about how impossible the pendulum was. 2 days later he said he hit a few, and then I knew I was destined to hit it. I spent hours at a time, with a massive overstuffed hacky sack trying to stall it on the worst shoes ever, and after a few days I finally stalled it, once.

A week or so later I found flipsider, and of course was blown away, seeing as a pendulum wowed me. From then on, I had ever changing goals.

Then I saw Jorden's videos, after coming to modified. Now my goal is to be good enough by the time I come back to Canada that I wont pass out being in his presence.

Yeah this topic was done 2 months ago..... But I started with a beaded hack for like 10 years just kicking it around every summer trying to get numbers. Then at my local rec center, I saw 2 kids doing outside stalls and mirages and always wanted to try them. I then bought a few sand bags at world footbag and shoes.
