Dan's Beginner Blog(again)
So this is my 2nd time doing a blog. I started doing freestyle about a year and quit after my exchange student got deported last February. If some of you remember, I hated him, and I started bagging to get away from him so I spent 5 months just shredding in my basement. But when he left, everything went back to normal and I stopped. Well now I have alot of free time cause I am going to community college twice a week for 6 hours and then work. So now, I am pretty bored and started bagging again and I'm loving it. It's almost as if I started back where i left off, I haven't lost anything. I am still using my Footfighter which is still pretty new. Hopefully now, ill stick to footbag. It sure is a funny hobby, releases stress for me.
Today I bagged for like 40 minutes, mostly working on my clippers because they arent perfect and I want them to be consistent because clippers are one of the most, if not most important trick to master. Also I'm working on my osis' and my double legovers. That is all for now

Dunno exactly where in PA you are, but it might be worth it for you to find other footbaggers who live near you and play with them. That's really the best way to learn: find people who are better than you, and have them teach you. One of the best players in America lives in State College PA, and I know there are people in Philly and Pittsburgh who also play. Search footbag.org or even these forums.

I live 25 minutes south of downtown Pittsburgh, near Washington Pa. In the summer, I am moving to the southside of Pittsburgh to go to film school.

I had enough time in my day to bag for another 40 minutes. After watching tricks of the trade dvd, I practiced paradox mirage and symposium mirage and nailed them. I am trying to do a whirl but my leg doesnt go around the bag fast enough.

So today in Pittsburgh its 5 below zero and damn cold. Every school is closed, and that means my dad who is a teacher is home. He hates footbag and thinks its a waste of time so I can't practice in the basement because thats where he works. So I am taking a day off cause I am a little sore after 3 hard beginning days of bagging. I'm trying to find baggers around my area but the closest is like an hour away. My friend and I practiced everyday until he went to college. He was my inspiration because he was always 1 trick better than me and when he hit a mirage, I haddd to hit it and wouldnt stop til I hit it. Then he hits a butterfly and I had to hit it. Since he went away to college and stopped bagging, I've had no encouragement. I wish I could go to tournaments but the closest around here in the past year or so was new york or virginia i believe and thats 8+ hours away. I am looking up footbags to buy as a spare, I'm going to get a mr sandbag to keep in my bookbag and just in my pocket just for when I'm bored at school or anywhere. And I would like to get another 32 panel, I was looking at pengs and moshers, so we'll see. Right now my footfighter is working great but it would be nice just to have a spare

I bagged for about 2 hours tonight. The first 20 minutes was really frustrating, I felt like giving up, but I kept going. I did 10 clipper stalls on each side 10 times to see how many I got. After 3 series with the right stall, my high was 6 out of 10. After 3 series with the left stall, my high was only 2 out of 10. So for 30 minutes on each side I practiced stalling. After my session was over, I did 10 clippers on each side to see if I progressed. On my right stall, I got 10 out of 10! Then on my left clipper, I got 8 out of 10. Huge improvement. After that, I was linking left clipper stalls to an osis which I got several times and have never tried it til tonight. So tonight was a very good night for me. I think I am going to order a new bag this weekend, either a Claven or a Peng, not sure.

After 9 hours of work, I managed to bag for an hour, though I was pretty sore from last nights long session. For the 2nd straight night, the first 20 or so minutes weren't working right and I got frustrated. But then I got my groove back. I'm still working on my clippers for a while til they are pretty solid. My right clipper is almost perfect and my left is about 65 percent. Hopefully I can manage to get some time to bag tomorrow since I have class til 3 then work til 10 or so.

He was just a douche who always used my computer and i just hated him. So I spent most of my days in my basement bagging. Right now I am in class looking up vids. Hopefully I'll have time when I get home from school or if I'm not too tired when I get home from work tonight. I'm working 35 hours in 4 days so its going to be rough but I can do it. I'm working to get a new claven bag even though I get paid today and it'll be like 400 dollars.smokefree wrote:Way to keep the practice going. Especially after working for 9 hours. Keep it up dude.![]()
What was so terrible about your roomate that would make you stay in the basement for 5 months??

Today, had school from 8-3, then came home around 4, and had to leave 30 minutes later for work. Got home at 10:30 and bagged for about 35 mintes even though I was very exhausted and have to work the next morning at 10-5. Still working on my clippers, nothing new.

So today I worked 10-5, didnt sit down for 7 hours so i was stiff. Bagged for 30 minutes at night but I'm just very fatigue, too much work and no rest, and I have to work tomorrow 12-close(around 11:30).... so I have to work around 11 hours tomorrow so tomorrow might be my day off of bagging. Sunday I'll go all day since I'm free, I just need a break. Tomorrow is my day off.

Today I bagged for an hour. I practiced mostly on left clipper to right butterfly for the first time and most of the time it rolled off my foot but I got it a few times:) And I'm getting better at paradox mirages and left clipper to right osis. Yesterday I worked 12 straight hours so I didnt bag. But tomorrow I'm going for a few hours since I dont have school or work. In a week or so, I'm going to make a short vid to show all of you my tricks and to judge me and how to work better on some moves.

Today we had like 6 inches of snow and no school, that means my dad is home and its hard to bag but I got in an hour of it today. No new tricks, just doing pixies and trying longer strings and such. Also going to buy a new bag by the end of the week, not sure which one to get

My feet hurttttt. Standing for 8 hours straight at work with no breaks hurts after a while, and tomorrow is just going to be worse working 12-12. So tonight i had a session for about 40 minutes. Learned a new trick, paradox double legover he he, nothing special. I'm practicing on getting my clipper to op clipper alot and consistant. Tomorrow I am ordering a Hania bag. Thats about it. Hopefully if I get out of work early tomorrow night I can get a ses in, or maybe before work... depends when I get up

So I took a 2 day off break from bagging, mostly because saturday I worked 12-12, and sunday i didnt work but had to do a video and edit it by monday. But today(monday) I was completely free, no parents. I did a total of 4 sessions, each session 45 minutes with a 15 minute break. My first session I practiced my clippers back and forth. During my break after the 2nd session, I was talking to Isilwar on AIM and he told me to see how many legovers I could get, so I tried and my most was 9 :/ I met Isilwar on this forum looking for a roommate for worlds and we talk just about everyday on AIM about footbag and girls!! He usually suggests what I should practice. He is the only person that I talk to about footbag, even though he lives like 2000 miles away, but I have no one to talk to about footbag. So if any beginners or advanced players who want to talk to a 19 year old bagger, my sn is aglobalthreat7. Anways, I bagged about 3 hours, and stopped cause my right knee felt a little weird, it felt like it needed to be cracked but it wouldnt when I tried stretching it, but it didnt hurt. I'll see how it feels tomorrow. Saturday ordered my Hania bag, a 48g bag, because I'm using a footfighter and its 38g and I don't want to switch to a 60g bag that she always makes because thats a big step, so I asked if she could make is 48 and she said yes, hopefully it'll come in within 2 weeks. Tomorrow school til 3 then work til 10 so hopefully I can get like an hour or less session in.

Then go home from work a little early so bagged for another 20 minutes but was just so beat. Found out I'm working everyday this week, a total of 38 hours for a parttime job, roughhhhh

I am just burned out! I thought I was only going to work 11-5 then bag at night, but had to stay til 7 to bread fish since its lent. And when I got to the bag, I was just totally exhausted. I realized my rough bagging days are wed-sat when I work and the rest of the days I'm fine. Well tonight I just bagged like 10 minutes and still sore from the other long day. Ill try and get a 30 minute ses in tomorrow night after work, we'll see what time I get home. But what makes me happy is my next paycheck in 2 weeks is going to be around 500 dollars, and I get paid tomorrow and its going to be like 360 or so, and I may get another bag, but first i want my hania bag.
