Whenever the mods do take action they get bitched out, or called out in threads, can you blame them?shredzilla wrote: As much as I blame Switch, I blame the forum controllers much more for making us put up with his crap.

Yeah.....
That's their 'excuse'. People bitch them out when they do their job. That's too bad, but don't be a Mod then. There are plenty of people out there that would gladly do the job, and they wouldn't even care about getting bitched at. More importantly, it would mean a SANE atmosphere where people could actually discuss GASP, footbag!

you're aright as a person i guess chris, but your last two posts have been some of the most hypocritical crap i have ever read. were you discussing footbag when you posted an offensive comic that referred specifically to a member of the forum in like 20 threads on the forum?
either post only about footbag and feel free to complain about offensive and completely non-footbag related posts, or post whatever you think is right and dont complain about what other people post. you've posted just as offensively, in my opinion.
obviously there is a line, and both of you have crossed it so dont act like you havent ever.

That was a political comic pointed at the Moderators and Admin staff of this forum. The point of that comic was to illustrate what we are currently discussing. The horrible level of Moderation that goes on here.slapdash21 wrote:were you discussing footbag when you posted an offensive comic that referred specifically to a member of the forum in like 20 threads on the forum?
Yes, I have been offensive. But I was also in a flame war. One that would have never occurred on most other sites. I too abused the freedom that was given to me, but mostly in retaliation of other problem posters.
You don't have to like me, but it's hard to disagree with making the forum a saner place to read. I mean come on. Also Pete, while we're throwing stones here, you've crossed the line in comments before as well. This isn't about you, or me, or anyone in specific. It's about a policy that makes this forum a joke to read or visit, especially if you're not already accustomed to the madness.
Yes I can. That's the point. There's nothing being done, visible or otherwise. People are still disrespecting the forum as a whole on a regular basis. Switch is pulling the same crap he was when I was chastised for my political comic aimed squarely at the point I'm currently illustrating.Pirate Man wrote:Just because little/nothing visible moderating is done (besides censoring), you don't whats done through PMs and such. You can't make such outrageous claims without really knowing such things for sure.
Am I still a problem poster? I haven't made a derogatory comment toward anyone on this forum in a long time. Nor do I intend to. I'm not going to let the flamers bring me to their level as they did in the past. I've learned my lesson. But some people only learn the hard way unfortunately.

that is the totality of my comment on the issue that this thread has turned to, because anything I could say about what is going on here, discussion-wise, would be blatently obvious to anyone with half a brain and knowledge of recent forum history. It's not even worth the calories I'd burn typing it.
can we get this back to the awesome topic at hand please?
Footbag can be like a social springboard. Anyone can bounce off the thing and go flying into the air, but you still have to do something cool once you've taken the leap for it to go successfully.
so, yeah, it's a good way to meet people, but as bowler said, it won't fix your personality. and it's a great way of weeding out the people you know for sure you won't work out with, because they'll want nothing to do with some lame footbagger
This topic kind of offended holly, and it seems like ashley thinks it shouldn't be discussed or focused on either. Holly's spoken her mind. Ashley, why are you not liking this topic?
I think relationships between footbaggers are beautiful, because there's so few of us, and it's great to share in your passion with someone you really care about.

I agree Matt, I would be tremendously happy if I had a girlfriend who played Footbag. I tried to teach a few of them, but they got discouraged very easily and wouldn't continue. As stated before though, in the end it's you, not the Footbag that they are interested in. Someone can be good with their feet and not be a pleasant person. It's all about how you yourself are as a person.

As hilarious as this thread started out, I actually did get picked up at the gym tonight by a girl watching me shred. (Although she plays Ultimate Frisbee so that probably had something to do with it

Yeah. I find that most girls don't really appreciate Footbag uneless they are involved in another sport that isn't over hyped.
And I don't know if this is accurate... but I've never met a girl, who listens to the radio, who likes Footbag. Ever. Any girl I know that likes or is entertained by Footbag, usually doesn't listen to music that's on the radio. I don't know if that is even related at all, but that's just what I've noticed.

A few days ago I started writing this by starting with a small reply to one comment, but it snowballed into a big post. Sorry, some of it's a bit off-track.
Any time a normal-ish girl is in a group with mostly guys she probably has the option to get with at least one of them at any time. Be it in a footbag scene or a bar. In general I think it’s easier for a girl to hook up with a guy when she feels like it than a guy with a girl (everyone being sober, etc). You were pointing out footbag relationships that seem committed and (hopefully) long lasting. If the question is “Can footbag let you meet a match for a committed relationshipâ€
I agree with Holly that it seems disrespectful listing off who is single, dating someone or who "hunts" outside of the footbag gene pool. Especially if they're not active on the forum to know about it.shreddaily wrote: How about in europe, does anyone know if those shredditas hunt outside the gene pool much?

I'll keep this simple.
Playing footbag will NOT get you "girlies."
Duh.shreddaily wrote: Daryl G, Sam C, Alex Z, Fletcher F, Eric Wo, Eli P ect... might disagree, AD.
It may not get you girls but it certainly seems to get you guys....
Can anyone name a female North American tournament atendee who isn't with a footdude? Not that I can point fingers, if I was into volleybal or something I'm sure I'd be with a volleyball girl.

Matt, it is not that I don't like the subject, its that the way this topic was started made me dislike it. I think to answer it is really simple, like I said before, I see footbag as the way Sam and I met. Thats all it is to me. I could have met someone bike riding, so then would the question be, "does bikin get ya girlies?" I mean... I really just see it as a hobby Sam and I share.
Their are a lot of girls out there who will and will not think footbag is cool.
Although, the situation is different coming from a girl who thinks footbag is the shit. AND, who was already playing footbag before I met Sam. Plus, I'm a tom-boy, and if I had never seen footbag before and I came across Sam kicking my first thought would be, damn that looks cool, hows he do that? And then, start playing footbag
.
I think we should worry about trying to get more female players kicking in the first place instead of getting with them.
Some of the comments made really made me want to just say nothing at all, but whatevers

Yeah, the girls that I know who are interested in Footbag (At least in watching it.) are mainly into uncommon hip hop. Aussie Hip Hop like Hilltop Hoods, and some other groups like Visionaries, Blackalicious and the likes.
In our school, there is a 20 foot tall statue of a tiger. (Albert Lea Tigers...) It's a beastly statue too... Very intimidating. It's at the main entrance, which is a highway to the side entrance which leads to the student parking lot. Well me and my friends bust out at the Tiger just about everyday after school. And despite the fact that everyone from Sophmore up knows who we are, and generally unimpressed seeing as they don't understand what's going on when we bust up a new trick, because it all looks the same to an uneducated spectator, the Freshmen, are still amazed at what we do, and it's third quarter. Josh, a friend of mine, stops by after school everyonce in a while to shred with us at the tiger, and even the seniors who've been seeing us shred for two years now, are shocked by what they see just walking by. I'd have to say that at least 2-3 girls a day stop (Along with like 15 guys...) stop to watch us shred in awe, lol. It's always an awkward feeling... Like you're supposed to be performing, or that they ahve expectation you must fulfill or something...

Indeed they are. Some of their songs can be annoying though, because they will sometimes exagerate (SP?) their own accents, but other than that, Aus Hop is the best kind of Hip Hop to listen too, especially when shredding.King Monkey wrote:Thats fuckin sweet.
