Shred at ASU or UA

I will be in Arizona for a few days in the first week of march, and while i am there i hope to have a shred session with a few arizonians. I have been accepted to both UA and ASU, and while i am visiting i would like to see what the shred scene is like. If anyone is interested send me a pm and we can discuss in further detail how we can make this shred session a reality.

I went to school at the U of A. It is a great school, but has tons of people. You might feel like a very small fish in a huge pond. The girls are very beautiful. The weather is of course very hot, but consistently 3-6 degrees cooler than in Tempe (ASU). There is a small but seemingly flourishing shred scene down in Tucson, assuming you'll have access to a car. Contact Mr. Jauss. He has a footblog so you might want to post there.

About the cities: Tucson does not have the big-city feeling at all. It is quite spread out and a lot of the culture there revolves around desert landscapes and the natural beauty of the land. Phoenix/Tempe is much more like a real city with skyscrapers and lots of concrete. People from Tucson think of PHX as a concrete jungle, while I'm sure Phoenecians think of Tucsonans as country-dwellers. Hope this helps you in your decision making process.

thanks alot that brought alot of things to mind that i had no clue about. I have heard the same thing from one other person but you basically just confirmed what he has said. your response was really something that i needed because as of now i really have no clue what arizona is like. I cant wait to visit...hopefully the weather will be nice!

and who is this Mr. Jauss? is that the name that i can pm him on, or does he have some other name that i can find him at. i tried searching and nothing came up but i may have done something wrong.

I emailed you a while back & put several of the Phx area kickers on the email also. For me Phoenix is the place to live once you get by the 100+ weather that happens 3 or so months a year. You get used to that then 90's are very nice. It is a dry heat. You will hear that a lot.

As for the shred scene in Tucson is small. They are a few guys but they are usually busy. They kick once a week. We don't get down to Tucson that often. We used to meet halfway once in a while but haven't done that in a long time & I don't see that happening in a while since Johnny works so much.

I live up in Gilbert, AZ which is close to Phx. Phx is the bigger city & has more to do. We are all live close to or in Phx. Josh lives in phx, Conrad in Tempe, & Nate lives in Mesa just to give you an idea. The 4 of us usually kick once a week in Tempe right by ASU. Then we kick on our own or have the occiasional 2 sessions a week depends on schedule. There are 2 guys that I am trying to get into kickin more & they go to ASU. We will have a shred there soon. Maybe you can get a club going (part of Unity Footbag club or your own. They both work) at ASU. Then we would have a chance to get more college students involved & have a place to kick indoors when we need it. rambling...
