;) you know me all to well....

had a late night-ish session at the shredquarters. I was playing a lot better, but still not what i want to be at. Pixies are on and off for me, sometimes i hate the set so much, but other times i like it, and wish i could do it better.

Flip stepping has lost its touch, i can still do ripwalk flip 9/10 but its not the greatest set in the world many of the times.

i got a couple new drills, i want to work on some of them until they are effortless to me.

 whirl>drifter>rtp (5 contacts)
 whirl>dyno>rpt (6 contacts)
 ripwalk bs, and sidewalk bs in a guiltless run
 dimwalk bsos a couple times
 spinning ducking clipper>whirl>pdx illusion
 symp mirage>butter>pdx mirage>rtp
 smoke(new trick)>whirl>drifter>drifter
 clipper set drifter, and toe set drifter all bsosed
 schmoe>magellan>dimwalk>whirl>drifter>whirl
 spinning clipper>blur>ss butter (got it bs just need to get it bsos so i can hit zacs combo ;) )

edit:
i forgot about my two favorite runs of the session

 whirl>pdx whirl>whirl>pdx whirl>infinity>ripwalk>ripwalk>drifter>drop on spinning pdx mirage
 whirl>ripwalk>whirl>osis>pdx illusion>ss butter>sidewalk>infinity>shcmoe>ss butter>blurry pickup>toe drifter>whirl>spinning clipper>infinity>spinning clipper>osis>symp whirl>ss butter>ducking butter>drop on flip ducking butter

( i think this is one of the best strings ive ever had and i did it unwarmed up, outside of my apartment on pavement)

uhm there might have been more but ive forgotten

im working on it ;)

well i didnt footbag today, because i am really sore still from basketball/shred. So instead i thought about things that i want to accomplish in the year 2007 for footbag, my goals in 2006 came true, so hopefully these will come true as well.

 beat my best shred 30 score (86) I want to get atleast 100, but ill be optimistic and say 150
 be bothsided for everything i attempt
 become super guiltless, and maybe a little tripless.
 smash everyone of my records and complete every one of my drills.
 land eggbeaters and DLOs

Zeb,
Those are awesome goals. I have no doubt you could probably break 100 now if you just spent 5 minutes thinking up a shred 30 and then gave it 1 or 2 tries. At US Open you were slightly better than me, now the gap has widened considerably. In fact I think the only concept I have better than you is eggs/DLOs.

Well, I may not be the biggest expert on eggbeater/DLO but I do like them a lot. I'm still just footing them on flipside though. Last night I studied what I was doing right on my strong side so I could replicate on my weak side. Here are some tips:
 Get legovers SOLID. When I say solid you should be able to hit at least 30 consecutive.
 Legovers should be 100% downtime. There should be NO HOP. The legovers at the end of DLO and Egg should be very TIGHT.
 A drill I use to warm up for DLOs is: [Clipper > Mirage > rpt > Clipper > Far legover > rpt] > rpt This drills all the fundamental components of DLOs on each side (near mirage + far legover)
 STAY OVER THE BAG. This is key. It can be tempting to lean back on both tricks, DON'T. Be aware of this when you are doing the trick.
 The set is key. Always place it where it will be easiest to grab the legover at the end. (Across your body for near DLO, straight up for toe egg/DLO)

Hope that helps :)

thanks for the tips ben they helped :)

well i didnt hit eggbeater on either side, but i footed it on bs, so within the next couple of sessions i will get them (i say will, because im trying to be optimistic, hopefully making them easier)

hit near dlo, and regular dlo on strong again

finally figured out torque, and hit it 3 times this session

toe drifters, and clipper drifters all bsos again

i figured out my problem with my flip stepping too, and why it was bugging me and getting harder, so now it should be a lot easier.
I wasnt delaying the bag long enough on my flip, which really hindered it, but not anymore, now its pretty much equal to my strong :P

blurry legover bsos some

dimwalk>pickup>rpt

torque>drifter

toe drifter>mirage>rpt

drifter>osis>osis>rpt

gyro osis, and gyro clipper all bsosed

footed flip torque

ive been stitching quite a lot lately, ive been working on my worlds batch a little, i want to make atleast 20 or 30 bags between now and then and sell them.

well today was the warmest its been since about last august, and it was awesome, it was almost like my abilities were let free by the suns power (lol) but i was playing awesome, and i hit a new trick today, the funny thing was is that it was midstring, and i hit it randomly for some strainge reason. (maybe i was just going with tha flow?)

but yeah

a run strarting with dimwalk>ripwalk>dyno and then ending with flip zooming osis (new trick)>crispy torque

dimwalk> torque

smear>dimwalk>whirl>crispy torque>whirl>spinning clipper>osis>pdx mirage> parkwalk

drifter>osis>osis>drifter>run

spinning pdx mirage>plo>ss butter>ripwalk x 2

spinning butter>whirl>ripwalk

flip stepping finally feels AMAZINGLY better to me, im finally getting it, which is AWESOME to me :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

same as above except for flip pixie :D:D:D:D:D

run starting with flip dimwalk and ending with strong dimwalk

atomic has pretty much evaporated, but im not dissapointed, i think its good for me to solidify my pixies and my stepping before i start to learn other new sets and stuff

blurry pickup> drifter

quantum butter>run>drop>flip quantum butter>pass

diving clipper x 2>ducking clipper x2>weaving clipper>ducking clipper>diving clipper

rev whirl>whirl>symp whirl>pdx whirl

its was a pretty good session, hopefully tomorrow will be as productive as this one :D :o

had a pretty decent session yesterday with my neew shoes, they arent broken in yet, but there getting close, and i really like them.

yesterday i hit a new trick, zooming pdx mirage, i really like zooming, and i think im going to drill it more regularly.

ALSO flip ripwalks are $$ again, but ive still yet to beat my record.

footed plo>plo with shoes on....ill land it today marketh my words!!!!

i lov drifters and whirls....i dont know what it is about them, but they give me the most joy in footbag

found out how to make pdx illusion completly good feeling and clean (maybe, who knows they are probably more 'the' than anything in my game)

ill add more today when i kickybag again....

Well bad new for me....

My comm 101 class was tonight( or i thought it was tonight) and i rode my bike to class, only to find that the class was actually last night (i feel like an idiot :x ). So to vent my frustration i rode my bike to the tennis courts, which were conveniently lit up and i had an hour and a half session by myself. I got a ton of compliments from people for my shred, whih made me feel pretty good, but i wish i was a ton less one sided with a bunch of concepts, like pixie, spinning (kinda), stepping(still i cant shake the feeling of flip stepping i wish it would go away, i drill it so much you would think something would give a little to where it would be consistently good), torque, whirls (although are decent, they also to feel so strange trying to land) i do however think i need to spend a session doing nothing but flip moves....

my new shoes are different from my old ones, some concepts feel easier, and some feel worse...stepping feels better in them, but....pixies feel worse in the...while spinning, and double dex stuff feels harder as well...its definately odd...........oh well....

highlights from my vented session:

blurry legover bsos into blurry legover>tripwalk

infinity>ripwalk>infinity x2>rtp 9 contacts

dimwalk>whirl>crispy torque>whirl>infinity>duking clip>diving clip>ducking clip

diving butter>ducking butter> ducking butter

dimwalk>whirl>drifter bs almost bsos

blizzard>run>ripwalk>pdx whirl

osis>osis>dyno(9 contacts)>dyno>zooming osis

it was okay, i hope to solidify somethings here pretty soon
more news later....

Sweet stuff man. Just keep at it buddy. You'll get used to it. Flip Whirl does feel pretty weird landing. But just do it enough and it feels more natural. I still haven't hit it but I tried it an assload today and it already feels easier. Just keep at it! :P

i forgot to add

whirr>infninity>whirring drop

and ill hit that tomorrow zac ;)

i never talk about life anymore, so i guess i will use that post for this...

Life is going great, and I love college its tons better than i ever expected. I loved how all throught high school everyone was like "get ready for an extreme reality check" and blah blah blah, but in reality its not that bad, the only thing that sucks is payin da bills. Classes are pretty entertaining, but can be pretty boring at times, i have 2, 3 hour lecture classes, and tose get really boring after about the second hour no matter what the subject. My other classes are really fun, and ive met a ton of friends by going to them and hanging out with them, great fun....great fun...

anyway...

i really want to get good at whirr...its such a fun move and i can hit it like 1/20 times now  and have never hit it flip but have come pretty close. Im just now getting into all the guilt stuff that i havent learned, DLOS are getting easier as are eggs, i want to learn flip torque, but i cant coordinate my body enough to try it on my flip side yet....i footed pdx torque today, first time ever trying it too....it popped my back, and it felt really good, lol it was nice...

We were playing in the park today and I was playing well, i really want to hit the bop drill with 100 contacts so thats something ill warm up with from now now, so hopefully i can get it soon (got 30 today first try, so im sure ill get it sometime here soon ish,(hopefully))

well im going to go find something to eat and then im going to crash me thinks

thanks to all who read my blatently long posts :P

Some sick stuff in here Zeb,

your getting really good. I'm starting doing some genuine combos and still working on all the basics. Seeing progress like yours is really motivating me. Not as much as shredding with Yacine, Ianek and Seb that last week but yeah it's a motivation

With the stuffs your hitting I have no doubt you will be open for both competitions this time ( if you compete ). That let me some chances for competing for one of the top spots ( I hope ! ).

Dont whirr so much, you have a whole life time to perfect it. Repetition isnt key, time and thought is.
Torques look cooler anyways. Man I wish I had a Zeb Jackson bag :!:
I didnt realize you had so much skill, waty to go.
