clean smoke
pixie ss symp mirage
pixie ss pickup x5
diving clip x9
muting clip x5
legbeater kick
front side legbeater
whirl>rev whirl
toe drifter>rev whirl

I didn't plan on shredding today.... but Dustin and Em came over, I planned on KICKING and then started freestyling, but I took it light and kept off of my weak support leg. So, it was a much more pleasing session than wednesday, and less painful as well. Wooooo friday.

*EDIT* After I wrote this, I kicked off my shoes and was lying on the floor, then got motivated to fool around a little more,
pixie ss muted pickup, pixie ducking mirage, flip smear & plo, pixie op pickup... pixie is so much easier without shoes on! got some more physical therapy exercises to do, and found out that the left side of my hip is much tighter and doesn't rotate the same as my right side, so that might be pulling on my back and causing my pain. Can't wait for net sunday. (Uh oh.)

2 Fulfilling freestyle sessions in a row?

Yes. Played at the park today with Emily, Dustin, Max, E.J. for a minute, and a circle kicker for a few minutes. I had a few really long tiltless runs, I feel like the best was 35-40 contacts with many 3's.

Ripwalk>pdx whirl>diving butterfly
smoke
spinning clipper>ripwalk>spinning clipper, spinning and ducking clipper bsos a lot
whirl and dlo bsos same run, first time trying flip whirl since my knee injury; I hit 2 and decided it was still too soon for flip whirls, but my knee is feeling much better! My back issue is still painful, but I have confidence in the physical therapy now, so.. optimism is good!

blur>dlo>butterfly bsos.. that made me really happy since I haven't been stepping a lot for a while.
a lot of the usual stuff, less pixie today than previous sessions, plo>plo
spinning butterfly bsos
good BOP stuff, fairly confident in my flip osis now.

Most importantly, much less pain in my knee when doing flip clippers.. Footbag is so much more fun with both sides.

NET

Played 5-7 games of net, doubles except for 2 singles games, I played this guy Dirk who is better than I am I think, he won the first game and I won the second, both were very close. Net is getting fun... Uh oh is right. :D :D[/b]

Shredded last night with Emily. Footbag 2 days in a row! I'm feeling alright, phys therapy is definitely helping my knee and I'm starting to do some core exercises for my back. Still stitching 2 bags a week, and soon I'll have an unpaid internship working as a therapeutic mentor for a kid who's got coordination and social issues. And midterms are coming up. Yay!

atomsmasher>legbeater>pdx whirl
some pixie stuff, some stepping stuff, some drifters, ducks, and spins.
dive clip>duck clip>dive clip>spin clip
Some other stuff but nothing new/special. oh wait!
clip>diving mirage>opp clip>diving mirage>clip>ducking pdx mirage>opp clip>ducking pdx mirage

Hopefully going to play again wednesday.

Drove up to Santa Clara with Jeremy, Angel, and A.J. for some net action with Tuan Vu and Alexi Duchenes (sp?). It was a whole lot of fun, I got a few good spikes, and lots of sets which Alexi brutally crushified. Then got thai food with Jeremy and Em, and Jeremy cut my hair. Wooo. Not gonna watch the superbowl tomorrow, gonna play some more net. More freestyle monday maybe. :)

That's cool you got to play net against Tuan. Is he any good? It's still kinda weird to me to see my freestyle heroes from back in the day playing net (Wulff and Tuan, and even Kenny, though he always played net).

Good luck with the healing process.

Thanks Ben, Ken... Tuan is pretty damn good. My knee feels like it's getting better, but for now I've had to stop going to physical therapy because I can't afford it. I'm hoping to keep up the exercises/stretches I've been doing and hopefully that will get better.. my back is still in pain pretty much every day, but it's not stopping me from any physical activities at the moment, and I am trying to keep stretching and strengthening my core to help.

Just had a solo session.. I'm either dehydrated, out of shape, or both.. or I'm just not used to playing alone, in any case I felt like I had no stamina. Didn't play for very long, didn't play very well, but I'm still happy to have played.

smear>plo>smear
smear>pixie ss mirage
magellan>pixie ss pickup, flip pixie ss pickup, 4-5 flip smears

Ehhhh... I'm gonna shower and enjoy my afternoon. Oh, and I think Emily and I are going to teach a freeskool class in santa cruz for footbag.. Should be fun.

I played net and freestyle yesterday. I wasn't too happy with either domain.

BUT... Good news for freestyle...

I'm taking a road trip with Emily up to see Lon Smith and Joe Crane this weekend. Fuck yeah. :D

Live from Grass Valley, CA... Hanging out with Emily, Lon, Joe, and others the last 2 days has been sweet. Shredded last night and hit a new combo, zulu pdx mirage>dlo>toe drifter>whirl>pdx mirage>string and some good pixie stuff, and atomsmasherX3.

Today's session on Astroturf (which is awesome for shred,) felt equally rewarding if not more so, hit 6 or 7 pixie moves in a run with the drill I've been trying to hit for a while, smear>plo RPT. Also toe dlo>toe drifter>string>op toe dlo>toe drifter>whirl>string. Some good guiltless runs with ducking and spinning, and some good atomic stuff as well.

Session today in grass valley.

Highlights:

PIXIE OP WHIRL finally. flip pixie>strong whirl (I'd hit it the other side but my flip whirl is still iffy because of my knee.)

Smog!
pixie ducking osis
spinning ducking osis
some good runs, a really long guiltless run with lots of ducking and BOP.

then 4-square. Fun.

Back from Grass Valley, had a ton of fun. Here are 2 good pictures, more to come probably. Image

Played net today after I got back, won 3 games against Jeremy and Angel by myself. Then I reverse toe-slammed the net bag right into my own eye. More freestyle wednesday or friday. :D
