It's famous because the restaurant is built out of blocks of ice! you eat on slabs of ice, fish for food in holes in the ice right next to your seat (people often fall in these holes), and the waiters are eskimoes with the cool furry brimmed hoods!

What more could someone ask for

It is famous because their shirts have been in countless films and tv shows. Its actually just a restaraunt/store that is right next to the oklahoma state university. They are famous because of their chili fries. There is only one Eskimo Joes. Block of Ice and Oklahoma do not get along well.
