Props JM, may I request some inside/outside/ flier action in your next work, it seems like its been a while since I've scene some of your non shred stuff you were known for a few years back. Your technical stuff is very enjoyable regardless!

AND-

Its because of arrogant comments like setmans that people like mentor don't post AWESOME footage here anymore. How about you post some vid huh setty, I seem to remeber your last few films being grainy tripod footage with a bunch of addhunting moves and no editing whatsoever.
If you fall asleep whatching someones movies DON'T WATCH! or better yet make a movie of yourself so it will put you in a comma and we don't have to put up with your whiney posts! Fancy editinig takes time and I'd rather JM spend his time practicing and perfecting his skills than meet the needs of whimps like you and king monkey.

geez, i can say what i think about the video, can't i ?
i always say what i think and i don't think you could watched few of my videos, cause i've made only one and there wasn't bunch of addhunting moves, but whatever.

i don't know why saying something negative about something at this forum is negating and holding to be bad.

Paradox symposium twirls are what I want to see. Fancy cuts neither make the video more credible nor are they helpful in articulating the sport.

When you deal with a whole lot of mtv/espn/fox-news-style cuts, it can very much detract from a deeper understanding of how the game is played. The philsophical attitude that I have wittnessed in footbag is often about camaraderie and persistance. Taking random footage and making it palatable by adhering it to a potentially arbitrary audio source, can in fact get someone pumped and excited, but is not necessarily as journalistic as moves simply being portraid. It's just something else.

There are people out there who never give a toss about directing and then they see natural born killers, lost highway, waking life, etc, and then they think "wow this is a great director." But really, it's just spoon-fed stylization. I mean, typically it doesn't hurt, though often times it just there to make something that can't stand on its own seem more interesting.

When I think about footbag, it's not about swinging through a jungle with a mountain dew can in my hand. It's about developing a better understanding of the sport it'self, and raising its potential. Not dissemboweling it so that it looks redonkulous.

Anyway. I like flashy vids, I like stylish editing and I can get past the I'm-a-footbag-gangsta-ism (sometimes) but c'mon! Jorden just did all kinds of things that most of us never would have seen elsewhere and all you can do is criticize him for something completely unrelated? It seems as though it's just so that you can feel better about your own abilities, and in no other way helpful, or relevant. That's more time that could have been spent making a second video. Anyway, I'm probably just attacking you because I'm not very good at footbag, despite my efforts. Who knows.

I'm getting sick of people critizing peoples films in general though. Exposure to new talent and accomplishments is what keeps this sport going. Dude just mixed footbag with juggling. Again. AAAGGGGHHHHHH!!

Thanks for keeping it real Jorden. Your creativity is inspiring.

Really nice Jorden!

I liked the behind the back cascade. How many flashes have you gotten with that? Also, can you do it with out throwing against your back?

I feel like your footbag style has gotten a bit more relaxed, well more than it was anyway, and it looks really good! Watching this video yesterday gave me motivation to shred yesterday.

Everytime I see a video of you, it amazes me how big your feet look compared to the bag, bigfoot.

Thanks for the video.

Hmm didnt expect to have to deal with more backlash but ill just state my stance: my view is alot like what Matt Cross just posted before. I dont normally comment on videos where the person has obviously not gone out to create some blockbuster or really gone to town with the edit or whatever. Its normally plain to see what they were trying to present, as is the case with Jordens videos. You know he plays alone and has a tripod, so thats pretty much what youre gonna get: tripod footage with footbag to break your mind in two, which is fucking sweet. I love watching this hardcore footbag regardless of the presentation.

I do feel however that if a person asks for comments or critiques, or is bandying their video around like its some work of art, then its the right place to make comments, negative or positive, to help their development.

There was no need for name-calling. Im not sure how inviting critiscism (as i have done on my very well received video projects) makes me a wimp.

Oh yeh i gotta say Jorden, Blurry Delusion WTF!
:D Great stuff, i enjoyed your style in this video, it seems to be more laidback as someone else observed.

Jorden, good shit, but... where's the footbag. The juggling is impressive and all, but I just want to see hours and hours of all your crazy footbag skills. :D

Setman, I think your critique of this video is pointless. Jorden isn't out to put up a whole series of professional quality videos. He's giving everyone a weekly taste of of "Moirminism" to get people excited about some new stuff. It's not like the video totally sucked ass in quality and it was absolutely edited. If it wasn't then it would have been an hour long with Jorden missing triaging leg-over 10 times instead of just seeing his best miss. We would also have watched him change his shoes and pants when he switched from footbag to juggling.

If you want to make useful comments then save them for the tricks... that's the point of the videos.

Luckily Jorden isn't one of the more weak minded people who would just say, "fuck you, I try to do something cool for everyone and you tear is apart. Fine I'm not doing it anymore."

Most of the time, even when the creator and recipients of a video rave about the editing, I just get pissed off because it takes away from the actual footbagging. Flashy, jumpy, zoomy-zany editing is retarded. Show the fucking move, then show it slow-mo, and cut to the next one.

This video's perfect. It shows everything important, no sugar coating or prettiness to coax you into watching it. He's showing the vid for the juggling and footbag skills, and that's enough for me to watch it again and again.

I know sometimes a nice film can be made with footbag footage, and sometimes, that's a plus. Most people can't edit for shit anyway, as you can witness on these forums alone, but everyone believes they are talented.

Stick to the point: footbag. The video should be all about the footbag, not the music, not the angles, not the flashiness. As stated before, take your vids to a film forum if you want, but don't expect everyone to try to WOW you with their fucking editing skills here; suck a dick if you don't like it.

To Jorden,

Great video. The quality of the footage is clean, the lighting is bright, and I can see all of the shred and juggling very clearly. If someone asked me for a good video of footbag and juggling footage, I would include this video in the list.

To others,

When you post to an online forum you have to remember that people may not know you and they certainly cannot determine the tone in which you write your posts. If you have a problem with someone's post, send them a private message. It really disappoints me to read through a thread and discover I have to filter through people arguing and bickering back and forth just to get to the real honest posts. I suggest that poeple direct their posts TO THE AUTHOR OF THE THREAD, and move on.

If you read setman's post, take note that he wrote more than just a critique of Jorden's video. For one thing, he was nice enough to answer someone's question about the move spinning nuclear butterfly. Also, he finished his post with complimenting Jorden for his attempt of triaging legover.

As for setman's video critique, I agree that this may not have been the right thread for it as Jorden was not explicitly asking for anyone's opinion on the production of the video. However, a video is a video, and if you post a video people will watch it and they will have an opinion.

Personally, I like this video because it is good quality and to the point. There were no effects to interfere with the visibility of the footage. I would have enjoyed a few slow motion views of some of the moves, but I have found ways of doing this manually with Windows Media Player, QuickTime, and even Real Player. Also, I know from producing videos myself, that if Jorden is to put out weekly videos he will not have time for advanced editting.

To Nate, you big bully. Why do you pick on people like that?

Peace.

Gyro Whirling set there at the end? Very nice.

I like all of your moves that end on osis, especially your fluxes.
